Boehner Retained as House Speaker
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | January 3rd at 09:59 PM |
Today in Washington Congressman Boehner was reelected Speaker of the House and it looks as if we may have two more years similar to the last couple. But…the Republicans still have Congress, so things could be worse. Unless of course you care to listen to president Obama’s adviser Jarrett’s comments from this past year: “There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be | Read More »

Angry Democrat Representative- Elect
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | November 19th at 01:05 PM |
Newly elected Democrat state Representative Phillip Archuleta (D- Dist. 36), will soon be representing thousands of New Mexicans in Santa Fe after beating his Republican rival by about five hundred votes. A college student approached him election night Mr. Archuleta had a very clear message for the young man– no rosy words here…actually he is quite vulgar. Not only flipping the young man off, but | Read More »

One Person, One Vote?
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | November 18th at 07:38 PM |
In New Mexico all one must do to vote is show up at a polling place, verbally provide a name, address and year of birth. No photo ID, no voting card and no other form of ID is required. There is one instance when voter ID is required, but that is relatively rare. These loose laws provide a lot of room for accidents, mix-ups and | Read More »

Election Day Adventure
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | November 14th at 11:54 AM |
In New Mexico we have not only election watchers and observers, but ‘challengers’ which are generally sent out from the county political party (Republican and Democratic Party’s respectively). Challengers have the power to speak with the election board supervisor, which is called Presiding Judge in NM, and can ‘challenge’ ballots and bring things to the polling place’s election board so they will deal with it. | Read More »

Voter Suppression in New Mexico
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | November 13th at 11:58 AM |
Update: A reader brought to my attention an error. Sandoval County also had other polling places, but these VCCs were only for the city of Rio Rancho. Other counties listed in the VCC list had other precinct polling places as well. Rio Rancho: Election day our state had what would best be called a fiasco and massive voter suppression. Rio Rancho which is north of | Read More »

Youth and the Presidential Candidate Contrast
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | October 2nd at 01:36 PM |
I run into people often who say that Obama is the ‘youth choice’ and he will be the better choice for our nation’s young voters. I find that odd enough…sure there was a lot of hype back in 2008, but many have seen reality now– for one thing they may be out of a job or under-employed! The unemployment rate for young adults 16 to | Read More »

Obama– A Friend to the Enemy.
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | September 18th at 04:32 PM |
Following the news these last couple weeks has been amazing. The attacks on our embassies are attacks on our soil! The timing is certainly one thing…and the fact that Obama brushes it away is another big issue. But one of the greatest things is when this administration lies about what happened. Our embassy in Libya was not well-guarded. Many have stated that the security was | Read More »
Obama and his ‘Friends’
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | September 15th at 02:06 PM |
This past week our nation remembered the eleventh anniversary of September 11th 2001, the day when thousands of our countrymen died at the hands of Muslim extremists. We all remember where we were, what happened that day and the horrifying days that followed when we realized the widespread effects of this. Most of us felt insecure and endangered. But we had a strong, capable leader | Read More »

One Nation, Under God
By: Politix Fireball (Diary) | September 11th at 01:52 PM |
September 11th, 2001 shocked us in many ways. We never would have expected to see what occurred that September morning. We were at peace with the world and were suddenly pulled into the awful reality. Life changed forever that day. A new world viewpoint. Learning of the hate some hold for western civilization. Yet at the same time we pulled together and found a new | Read More »
