Join Governor Perry in Promoting a Culture of Life in Texas

Thirty-six years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the case of Roe v. Wade, and since then more than 49 million abortions have been performed in America.

As Governor of Texas, I have worked hard to promote a culture of life. I’m proud to have supported and signed a number of key bills including bans on partial-birth abortions and taxpayer-funded abortions in Texas, as well as passing an informed consent law and a prenatal protection act that protects unborn children from assault.

Working together, we have better aligned Texas laws with Texas values, but I need your help on the challenges that remain. Please take a moment to sign this petition supporting a culture of life in Texas, and if you can make it to Austin this Saturday, I hope you will join me and thousands of our fellow Texans at the Texas Rally for Life on the Capitol steps.

God Bless,

Rick Perry

And may God bless this endeavor of yours Governor, because Obama and his minions in Washington are about to overturn all of our pro-life laws unless the American public happen to take a break from their Obama love-fest long enough to notice.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Puhleease! That’s the same lame Liberal response you always hear about abortion. Face facts, not even Hitler executed as many lives as have been taken by abortion. We lose more lives to abortion each day than we did in out worst month in Iraq. What’s even worse than these other tragedies is that the aborted will never have a monument to remember their tragedy. Never a flag on their casket. Never a moment of silence and remembrance. ….We treat our dogs better.

On a day when our president decides to fund abortion of foreign babies through American aid, I’m ashamed of this country. I’m as ashamed of Obama overturning the gag rule as I am of Tuskegee, Wounded Knee, Jim Crow Laws, the Trail of Tears, and even the slave trade. Human life is sacred and protected as our most fundamental right in this country, and that right is being denied 1 out of 5 unborn children.

My Response on The Petition Site

I am an adopted child of a teen pregnancy who is now in my 3rd year of Medical school. I’ve been to Europe 4 times, have two degrees, an happily married, played High school football, am an avid skier, a black belt, a rock climber. I have lived a wonderful life, because my birthmother chose life. Her Chaplin and her HS councilor both suggested she get an abortion, but instead she did what was right instead of what was expedient. As a result I’ve lived a wonderful life. 49million children like me have been denied the chance I maid such great use of. They have been denied life. They have had their existence and humanity devalued. They have been called “tissue”, a part of “a woman’s body”, a “woman’s choice”. They have had no respect paid them. No thoughts of a funeral or even analgesia in later term abortions. They are thrown out with the other medical waste with only a brief note in a medical chart “G1A1P0L0″ to give testimony to their passing.
Abortion is the biggest human rights violation since slavery. 1 in 5 Americans conceived is being labeled a sub-human entity, denied humanity, life, healthcare, relief from pain, and even a respectful burial. They are being erased from memory. The spark of their existence is extinguished, with no one to remember them, grieve for the, or even acknowledge them. All this is for the convenience and financial well-being of selfish women.
Naysaiers will give you excuses as to why this is necessary. “For the health of the mother”, they scream. But only 6% of abortions are medically necessary. “Rape and incest”, they cry. Only 1% of abortions are thought to be for this reason. We must see through this smoke screen to the critical moral issue at hand. 1 out of 5 Americans is being denied existence, as well as all of their human rights. 93% of these “erased people” are being killed for lifestyle reasons. Money, convenience, family planning, careers. As decent human beings Americans can no longer afford to turn a blind eye. We can no longer fund or endorse this practice. We can no longer protest against rights violations, war, torture, and inequalities with any credibility, when we allow ourselves to do these things and worse to preserve our finances, reputations, sexual freedom, and career options. We as a country are no better than any dictator who murdered his way to the top if we fund or endorse the erasure of the unborn.

Thank you Governor Perry

Your common-sense conservative policies have made Texas’ economy one of the most prosperous in the nation, and now you are standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

I hope that one day Texans, Americans and the rest of the world will look back on the horror that was abortion the way we now look back in horror at slavery. Those on the left say that abortion is a human rights issue. They don’t understand how right they are in saying so. Those 49 million Americans had the right to live their lives, and that right was taken away from them before their lives could even begin.
