The Founding Fathers would not have allowed a Rifle Ban

Many people have been discarding the principles of the Second Amendment (II) these past few weeks. They argue that our country implemented the Amendment when they had single shot muskets. They state that, had the founders had AR’s, they wouldn’t have allowed such guns to be protected by the Constitution. This assertion really couldn’t be more incorrect. The Second Amendment was meant to allow American | Read More »
Obama’s Revenge
By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | January 17th at 05:00 AM |
Many conservatives are beginning to think that the President has made now made his political fights personal. Maybe it was the tone of the election, maybe he is just angry about the conservative revenge seen in the 2010 midterms, but Mr. Obama has entered into a new phase of his politicking. In his first term, he seemed to genuinely want to unite the American people | Read More »
The Unconstitutional Mr. Obama
By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | January 14th at 06:04 AM |
2013 is turning out to be a scary year for regular Americans. In the past, we’ve had POTUS’s like George W. Bush who took unconstitutional actions, like wiretapping under the Patriot Act, because they were attempting to achieve a greater goal. I don’t excuse it. The means do not justify the ends, but it is difficult to view someone who is simply trying to protect | Read More »

By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | January 9th at 08:59 AM |
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has called on the Commonwealth’s General Assembly to increase the state sales tax from 5% to 5.8% while dropping the state’s gasoline tax altogether – which is 17 cents per gallon. The plan also includes an increase in the percentage of funds used from sales tax revenues going to transportation – especially in Northern Virginia. The problem is of course that | Read More »
Does Article I, section 8 mean anything anymore?
By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | January 7th at 09:41 AM |
In the Spring of 1940, President Franklin D. Roosevelt had it in his mind that the United States should join World War II. The Allies path forward looked bleak and the country certainly had to be prepared for a worst case scenario. But, whether war was imminent or not, Roosevelt was wise to build America’s forces. Peace through strength at its finest. Roosevelt was about | Read More »

Politico has a good piece up this morning about GOP leaders who are seeking to fend off conservatives in primary races – especially in Senate and Presidential races. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/01/gop-scrambles-to-fix-its-primary-problem-85726.html?hp=f1 Presidential Primary With regards to the presidential primary, I’m not sure what these leaders are talking about. The establishment has gotten its way, the last two cycles in a row with McCain and Romney. The article | Read More »

Today, Republican Congressmen Tim Scott of South Carolina takes his seat in the United States Senate. It is a wonderful time. It is a proud moment for all Americans. It is the realization of the rights of all men that the Republican Party has stood for since its inception. But in spite of conservative pride in having a black republican ascend to the United States’ | Read More »
3 points to consider leading up to the Debt Ceiling Debate
By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | January 2nd at 11:12 AM |
After months of debate and rhetoric centered on the Fiscal Cliff, Republicans gave in to President Obama. They completely caved. Democrats must be ecstatic. This was a huge win for them and they should be proud. I dislike Obama more than ever but we have to respect strength and right now, Obama’s got it. Republican leaders have somehow reasoned that if they were allowed to | Read More »
We staved off Boehner’s tax hike! Now what?
By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | December 21st at 06:00 AM |
Yesterday, many conservatives were dismayed to hear Eric Cantor (R-VA, two-face) come out and claim that House Republicans had gotten to 218 votes to pass Boehner’s tax hike bill. Thankfully, enough conservatives stood up for the one principle that, above all others, they were sent to DC to defend – namely, opposing higher taxes. What is truly sad is that thehill.com is referring to Republicans | Read More »

By: Griffin@griffinelection (Diary) | December 20th at 07:30 AM |
Jesus of Nazareth was really born two thousand years ago. It is a historical fact marred with politics and violence. Putting aside the pageantry of our Christmas story can actually help us to understand the reality and politics of the First Christmas. The True Christmas story. Today we really don’t know the date of Jesus Christ’s birth. It is believed that the early Church | Read More »
