Before reading any further, you may wish to have some you trust confine you to a straight jacket lest the revolution start before we are properly prepared.

I was listening to Fox News this morning, and if I understood what they said correctly, Maj Hasan may have had his communications with the radical imam cleared through military channels before sending them. The reporter said that according to their source who wished to remain anonymous his communications had been approved for academic research. The source was careful to say top commanders on the base may have been unaware the communications were cleared because those matters are frequently handled at a lower level.

Frankly given the initial emphasis the FBI placed on saying this was not a terrorist incident, it is well past time for Congressional investigatiors to start busting down doors to hold the morons instituting the policies that resulted in the Ft. Hood massacre accountable. Unfortunately, those most responsible are the very people who ought to be doing the investigating.

As I understand it, a military reservation has the same status as an embassy in a foreign country. The jurisdiction lies plainly with the US Government.

I used to work for the US DOJ, Federal Bureau of Prisons...and I know for a fact that any crimes committed on institution grounds were Federal Jurisdiction. In fact...we were instructed to inform visitors they were on a federal reservation and they were subject to federal law when on institution grounds.
