Never Let Facts (Or The Will Of Your Constituents) Get In The Way Of Greatness

A full 73% of Americans polled a week ago have problems, to varying degrees, with the “we will pass healthcare at all costs” fool’s errand being run out of Washington these days. Obviously, our Political heroes don’t give a flip.

Consider this your “are they out of their freaking minds?” lunch break open thread…

Don’t let this be true… I cannot take much more of this whole debacle.

under that said his main source on SCOTUS info said that its not true and has since taken the link and the statement from his source down. I doubt if this is true, I don’t think that Radar would be the outlet of choice for information regarding Chief Justice Roberts stepping down.

by allowing a LEFTIST like Obama pick the person who would take over his seat. I believe that seat wouldn’t be given up to a Democrat President except through his cold dead hands…Justice Roberts is a PATRIOT!

The Congress knows that it is free to vote how it wants… If you look at the recent Texas Primary results, you will see that the incumbents all won with 70% of the vote, even those that were target for voting against the will of the people. Congress may have a 15% approval but all the individual congressmen have a 70% approval in their district.

Vote how they want, we will still happily reelect them.

They are simply relying on historical facts. Once a government program gets in, it stays in. So getting it in is worth the suicide tactics (esp when its not yours, ie Pelosi and Obama)

I just caught part of Nancy Pelosi’s weekly briefing and was astonished at her absolute lack of historical perspective. Discussing Senator Bunning’s objection to Reid’s UNANIMOUS consent request, and the 60-vote threshold for cloture, she decried the practice as unprecedented. Perhaps she just doesn’t know English, but I think being laid out in the Constitution, the rules of the Senate dating back for decades, and the fact that such policies have been actively used for generations is a pretty decent precedent. Then agian, we all know the Dem’s perspective on the Consitution. She whined about the fact that 1 senator can hold up legislation and made it sound as if that is the threshold Sen Reid had to meet for everything. She neglected that Bunning’s objection was sustainable only because the procedure in question was a UNANIMOUS consent REQUEST. When you REQUEST UNANIMITY, usually you have to get 100% to move on. Were Harry Reid not being forced to obssess over health care, he might have time to pass their ‘much-mneeded’ unemployment extensions through normal Senate procedure. Hell, they might even have been able to pay for them! But no time, we have to ram health care down the Americans’ throats before we lose our jobs.

Also – Drudge is reporting John Roberts might retire. May God help us if that’s true – there will be no check on the liberal lurch left until Obama is out. Hopefully it is just a salacious rumor but, these days, nothing in the news shocks me.

Old timers will remember Dan Rostenkowski being harassed by seniors for passage of the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988. The Act provided coverage of catastrophic medical expenses and prescription coverage. All medicare recipients had to pay a premium for the coverage. After protests from seniors the law was repealed a year later.

Their names are Bill and Hillary Clinton. The order for the “Hillary in 2012″ signs may be already placed. Also, watch the Clinton gang, Lanny Davis, et. al.

We must ask a question of those running for election. The question is this. “Are you willing to vote to repeal Universal Obama Care?”

Their response, and how firmly they state their response, will tell us all we need to know.

  • DONTREADONME

that the Dems will continue to jump ship for the rest of this election year, something’s going down and its very, very bad. I don’t know exactly what this information means whether it deals specifically with the United States in general or the Democrat party, take that information for what its worth. Anyway, I will not be around much for the time being, I have a friend who has brain cancer (same as ted kennedy’s) she’s 31, and I will be reseraching her condition to help her find a way to beat this plus the twins are coming in 2 months. Anyone around Redstate a oncologist? I just wanted to drop this information off and leave it at that.

could be related to the fact that our treasury bond auctions are failing. They’re not admitting it yet, of course, and the Fed is buying them up to try to save face. The fun in Washington is about over, the game is up, and it’s not going to be very enjoyable to be in power for the next few years. Typical children… tear the place apart, then leave a mess for the adults to clean up.

      Best wishes for your friend!
