Holder DOJ: Whites Will Only Vote for Blacks If They Are Democrats

“But the Voting Rights Act has, sadly, become little more than a tool for political hacks to hide behind race in a quest to promote liberal ideology and the Democrat Party.”

In the convoluted world of the Voting Rights Act, about which Chief Justice Roberts famously said, “It is a sordid business, this divvying up by race…” (see LULAC v. Perry, 548 U.S. 399 (2006)), it is never surprising when high-minded liberals use racism to combat supposed racism. Rare, however, is it that the Department of Justice or a Court is so blatant about it.

Welcome to Kinston, N.C. The city overwhelmingly voted to eliminate party affiliations for candidates in local elections. Given the state of each of the political parties these days, one might give the city the benefit of the doubt that this decision is a good, healthy thing.

But, Kinston must pre-clear any actions it takes regarding voting and elections with the Department of Justice pursuant to the Voting Rights Act. And the Department said, “no.” That, in and of itself, is not all that surprising (troubling, but not surprising). What is quite startling is the language the Department uses. According to the Washington Times:

The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters’ right to elect the candidates they want.

That’s right… “white voters… will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats.” Well, this is fairly common theory among abusers of the Voting Rights to political ends, but it usually isn’t said in such clear language.

What is particularly interesting, according to the article, neither local elected officials in Kinston nor a group of local voters could recall a Republican ever winning an election in the town. It’s a “one-party town.”

Further, if the article is correct, the town voted for this change last November, when a record number of blacks turned out to vote for President Obama.

Finally, again according to the article, even the local NAACP chapter head is skeptical of the decision.

No one doubts the troubling racial past of many jurisdictions in America - particular, of course, in the South (though it would be unfair not to give a hat tip to Cincinatti, South Boston, etc…). But the Voting Rights Act has, sadly, become little more than a tool for political hacks to hide behind race in a quest to promote liberal ideology and the Democrat Party.

Really....

… this is how that racist Eric Holder defines Racism..

THIS… is racism… his name is Dr. Kamau Kambon, at the time of this video he was a professor at NC State Univ. Its my understanding shortly after this speech he was fired. However, he is a member of the New Black Panther Party… the same group of thugs that harassed voters in Philadelphia, to wit Eric Holder dropped all charges. Now who is Racist, Mr. Holder? Those that are blatant about it? Or those that hide behind decisions concocted in the Australian Petting Zoos known as liberal courts? My answer is BOTH!

“Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim - when he defends himself - as a criminal.” — Frederic Bastiat

Maricopa County (AZ) has non-party local elections.

And quite frankly, I like it. It causes voters to focus on the candidates and their views rather than some preconceived notion based on a candidate’s party affiliation. Let’s face it, not all Democrats are the same, nor are all Republicans. Too many voters have a knee-jerk reaction in the voting booth based on party affiliation.

It’s been my experience that at the local level, the party differences are nowhere near as significant as the state or federal levels.

You know you’ve reached rock bottom when you’re told you have character flaws by a man who hanged his predecessor in a military coup.

The same thing with Elections in San Antonio. -nt-

City of Fort Collins (CO) has "non-party" elections.

Funny thing though…the Democrats had a float in a local parade prior to the elections and had signs for all of the liberal city council candidates on their float. Of course, that wasn’t an ethical violation. One of the conservative candidates just barely mentioned verbal support for another one before he officially announced his candidacy and was brought up on ethics charges.

Breach of ethics is only investigated when it’s a conservative they’re going after.

Very Good Idea

I know people that vote strict Party lines without even knowing the names of the people running for the various offices.

Without a Party label to pin on someone, how would any of the idiots know which lever to pull?

Labels of all disguises are but for one purpose…market a product, sometimes that product stinks.

The DOJ strikes another blow to sanity in what is quickly becoming an very insane World.

Why would the DOJ call all white Democrat voters racists and by default all Republican voters racists while assuming all black voters will automatically vote for a black (90% do) and that is not racist.

Confusion Reigns Supreme in the DOJ

Your not getting the real message.

The truth is in the current Obamian DOJ, the REAL MESSAGE is…

… “all American whites are racist oppressive thieves who’ve stolen their way across all of planet Earth and it is our job and goal to remove them from power, take back every last cent they have stolen - plus interest - and return to them every last once of humiliation and misery - with interest - they have brought to all the rest of mankind”.

True peace between two enemies has only ever been acheived when one side has utterly defeated the other…if you doubt this truth visit Nagasaki sometime.

Are there no conservatives and/or Republicans in Kinston? A town where no elected officials nor voters “could recall a Republican ever having been elected in the town” sounds like a good place for citizens to focus on recruiting Black conservatives to run for office, and then supporting those candidates with volunteer work and campaign contributions.

At first impression, Eric Holder’s rationale for prohibiting the “no party labels” Kinston decision does sound incredibly — well, stupid. If it was merely an awkwardly-phrased recognition that the town historically only elects Democrats, that could be a different matter. In that event, I guess it’s both racist AND stupid.

But cannot remember where that there is something in the NC laws or perhaps NC Constitution that the Federal Gov’t must be notified or something like that…I don’t like federal jurisdiction on any state issue, myself and it’s clear that the DOJ is out of it’s collective mind.

3 more years of the Pied Piper’s pretentious Presidency. Thank God for small favors.

Most of the Southern states and many Western

Achance Wednesday, October 21st at 11:37AM EDT (link)

states with large Indian or Hispanic populations remain under the supervision of the USDOJ pursuant to the Voting Rights Act of ‘65. The supervision was just renewed by Congress since it is vital to the hideously gerrymandered “safe” minority districts that ensure Democrats having seats in states where they could NEVER win an election.

Since the USSC now requires that there be an actual demonstration of discrimination on the basis of membership in a protected class, these states should challenge the federal encroachment on their sovereignty, but whoever did it would simply be excoriated by the Democrats and all the other race baiters and poverty pimps.

They are covering up the real reason here.

jeffreywturner Wednesday, October 21st at 10:13AM EDT (link)

The real reason that Democrat elected and appointed officials (like Holder) do not want things like this to happen has nothing to do with white folks. The truth is that they KNOW that the only way they can keep BLACK folks voting for candidates who are pro-abortion, pro-same-sex-marriage, anti-prayer in schools & anti-school vouchers, is to have a “D” after those candidates’ names on the ballot.

“Life is too short, can’t we all just eat pork and kill some terrorists?”

Pittsburh, PA is heavily, lopsidedly, Democrat Residents almost always pull the Party lever.

Of course being in the minority (Republican), I’m forced to do the same thing!

Trouble with these mostly older Democrats is, they haven’t yet realized today’s Democrat Party isn’t the same as it was post-WWII. It’s been overrun and taken over by left-leaning Statists.
