Palin boosts Boehner’s health care address.

Via her Facebook account, of course:

Mark my words - tomorrow is the game changer! Tune in to hear common sense solutions that bury the false accusations that conscientious members of Congress have no solutions to meet America’s health care challenges.

If you’re like me, shaking your head wondering why all the miscommunication between Washington and the American people who have been saying, “Please hear what we’re saying about our desire for health care reform,” then tomorrow will be a refreshing time of clarity for all.

As she notes, preview here. This will be interesting to see for two reasons; first off, as Dan Riehl notes this should provide Rep. Boehner’s address with a bit more traffic than these things usually get.  I’ll be interested to see whether or not it’ll be a significant spike, but it should be something.  Second: if you were holding out hope that former Governor Palin was going to play third-party advocate… you might as well stop.  This is her way of saying that NY-23 is a special case, not a general one; and that she’s still in, and in with, the GOP.

[Insert tired, yet labored Halloween cliche here.]

Lesson One for Capitol Hill Interns: Don’t Publicly Mock Your Member’s Constituents

Update: A friend on Capitol Hill makes the following excellent point: “Attitudes like that, whether from an intern all the way up to Speaker, have no place in this complex. The people are here to serve — it is an honor to hear from constituents. It is an honor to hear them complain, to hear their ideas, to hear what they think. People who forget that or never knew that have no place being here.”

Andrew Elash, a chapter president of the College Democrats of Connecticut (don’t get me started on the abject worthlessness of both the College Democrats and College Republicans, please) and intern for Rep. John Larson (D-CT), has a pretty entertaining stream of Facebook updates about calls he’s receiving in the Congressional office from constituents who, like the majority of Americans, want nothing to do with the health care legislation being demanded by President Obama.

Andrew Elash- Constituents hate the healthcare bill. They hate Obama.

They tell me there’s no crisis. One woman even said healthcare would
be less expensive if gangs in cities stopped shooting each other and
sending each other to the ER. Golly!! THAT’S why healthcare is so
expensive!! THAT’S the problem!! Inner city gangs…

Andrew Elash - One more constituent screaming at me about healthcare
before lunch would be great. Please? No, the government will not
invade your house and force you to accept public healthcare. But we
will take your phone.

Andrew Elash- Larson’s office. Lots of callers angry about
healthcare!!

On the upside, it’s pretty funny to see how much folks hate the health care overhaul the President and Congressional Democrats are trying to force on them. On the downside, given that communications between constituents and their Representatives is protected speech, the results of this could be very unfunny for Mr. Elash.
