Gibbs’ Bushitler amnesia.

Remember: nothing prior to 01/20/2009 is REAL to these people. And that includes all the fools that they encouraged to go mad for the Democrats’ political benefit.

You hear in this debate, you hear analogies, you hear references to, you see pictures about and depictions of individuals that are truly stunning, and you hear it all the time. People — imagine five years ago somebody comparing health care reform to 9/11. Imagine just a few years ago had somebody walked around with images of Hitler. Hopefully we can get back to a discussion about the issues that are important in this country that we can do so without being personally disagreeable and set up comparisons to things that were so insidious in our history that anybody in any profession or walk of life would be well advised to compare nothing to those atrocities.

See Mary Katharine Ham & Hot Air for more: see here and here for images along those lines. And yes: there’s more. There’s disturbingly more, in fact.

Robert Gibbs: Umm, actually there hasn’t been an increase in death threats.

(Via Instapundit) A surprisingly clear statement, given the source. Perhaps he’s been yelled at?

There has been no increase in the number of security threats to President Barack Obama despite the contentious town hall meetings taking place around the country, according to the White House.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs also said Friday there has been no change in the security precautions.

“We haven’t viewed any increase in threats, and there’s been no change in any of that,” Gibbs said.

Or perhaps it’s just that the administration just realizes that while it may be in the best interests of Mark Potok and the SPLC to push their political fetish porn about how there’s a scary right-wing mob out there THAT COULD SNAP AT ANY MINUTE! - it’s not really in the best interests of the administration itself, to say nothing of the country. Particularly with the administration’s popularity currently hovering around 47%.  Turns out calling people names makes them less likely to love you.

Who knew?

What’s that about Astroturfing, Mr. President?

The former Community Organizer is at it again. Not content to request that any who question his health care proposal online or “in casual conversation” be reported to the White House by their fellow citizens, the Astroturfer in Chief is seeking to rally his remaining foot soldiers in an effort to out-demonstrate and out-protest the regular Americans who have had enough of the trillions in spending added, and the choices and decision-making freedom lost, under the Obama administration.

In an email sent via his permanent campaign organization, Organizing for America, and titled “This is the moment,” Obama said the following:

This is the moment our movement was built for.

Gibbs overrules Geithner & Summers

Who to believe? None of them.

Yesterday we had Geithner and Summers saying “the deficits that we have brought on are too high, so we may have to raise taxes on the middle class” (well, they didn’t say the “that we brought on” part, but they should have…).

Now we have Gibbs overriding them.

Anyone believe Robert Gibbs/Obama?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Gibbs hammered over planted questioner

President Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, was beat up by the White House press corps over the “planted questioner” at Obama’s press conference.

At Wednesday’s White House briefing, Gibbs insisted over and over again that Nico Pitney from the Huffington Post was not a planted questioner. When it was suggested, as I did yesterday, that the Obama plant was similar to the Hillary campaign planting questions during the Democrats’ presidential primary, (at about the 5:53 mark in the following video), Mr. Gibbs went into a “no, no, no, no” rebuttal:

To borrow a famous line from Shakespeare, Gibbs doth protest too much.

Walking Sotomayor Back into a Corner

What's the first rule of holes, Robert?

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs yesterday began the Obama Administration’s walkback of controversial comments made by Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. At the daily press briefing, the perpetually over matched Gibbs attempted to explain away Sotomayor’s comment that a “wise Latina” would necessarily make better judicial decisions than a “white male” judge because of her gender, ethnicity, and life experience. But Gibbs never learned the first rule of being in a hole, and his explanation raises more uncomfortable questions for the nominee.

“I think she’d say her word choice in 2001 was poor. She was simply making the point that experiences are relevant to the process of judging. Your personal experiences have a tendency to make you more aware of certain facts and certain cases, that your experiences impact your understanding.”

The only facts that a judge has any business considering, of course, are the facts at issue in the case before the court. Gibbs’ assertion is an admission that the Administration wants judges who will decide cases not based upon the facts and the law, but on their personal preferences.

But Gibbs wasn’t done digging, and used a quote from Justice Samuel Alito to try and bolster his position.

Bambi gives himself a B+ for first 100 days

That's what it means when your own Propaganda Minister gives you a grade

Various outlets are reporting that Obama’s Press Secretary Robbert Gibbs has given his boss a B+ for his first 100 days in his Obama Love Fest presser today.

Since the Obama Administration, while in disarray when it comes to actual management and governance, still excels in message control, let’s not think for a single second that Gibbs would volunteer his own opinion about Bambi’s performance. This is certainly an Obama-sanctioned grade.

But why a B+? Why not an A+?

Did Obama ‘Accidentally’ Re-Open Show Trial Question?

He Was Speaking off the Cuff, and You Know What Happens When Obama Speaks off the Cuff...

Dan Balz looks at the White House’s clumsy handling of the debate over terrorist interrogation. Interestingly, there’s no hint - either from Balz’s piece or from other administration officials - that the President’s change of position was intentional. Read the piece and judge for yourself:

The legacy of George W. Bush continued to dog President Obama and his administration yesterday, as Congress divided over creating a panel to investigate the harsh interrogation techniques employed under Bush’s authorization and the White House tried to contain the controversy over the president’s decision to release Justice Department memos justifying and outlining those procedures.

Obama had hoped to put the whole matter behind him, first by banning those interrogation methods early in his presidency and then by releasing the memos last week with the proviso that no CIA official who carried out interrogations should be prosecuted.

Overnight Open Thread: Press Corps

Yes, it’s from the infidel’s show, but it’s still pretty funny.

.

“The Obama administration has brought a new era of transparency and openness to the media. Um, which of the questions that your staff insisted be pre-approved would you like to answer first? One, two or three?” HA! And Gibbs actually says, “I’m happy to talk about what we approved that I can talk about,” by way of answer. Awesome.

Plus, now we know what Helen Thomas is doing when she’s not calling Americans
a bunch of terrorists.

No, Robert Gibbs, We Just Know Barry’s Policies Will Fail

Today, speaking to reporters, Barack Obama’s future former press secretary Robert Gibbs said

“It would be charitable to say he doubled down on what he said in January in … wishing and hoping for economic failure in this country. I can only imagine what might have been said a few years ago if somebody might have said that on the other side relating to what was going on in this country or our endeavors overseas.”

As Hogan said today in a most excellent post

We know those policies will fail. Why? Because we know that expanding the size and scope of government, appointing activist judges, taxing the American people, spending money that we do not have, eliminating personal responsibility by bailing out failures, and empowering government to take away our freedom is a prescription for failure.

It’s really that simple. In seeking to replace what Obama called “the failed policies of the past eight years,” he imposed on the American people and our economy the failed policies of the past 100 years.

We know absolutely, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Barack Obama’s policies will fail. And that is why we hope he fails. We do not want him to impose the policies history shows will fail the people of this nation.

It is that simple. And the investors of America agree. Check out the Dow Jones since Obama became President:

Gibbs hallucinates - Porkulus is ‘bipartisan’

As we’ve made pretty clear here at RS, The O’s actions thus far have been anything but “a new kind of politics.”  And, as expected, the Dems have now embarked on a mission to perpetrate the biggest snow job since winter started - attempting to convince the electorate that the so-called “stimulus” somehow gained “bipartisan” support.

On CNN’s “State of the Union,” White House spokesdrone Robert Gibbs initiated the snow storm.

Gibbs:

“We’re happy that Congress, in a bipartisan way, took steps to make whatever happens in this recession easier to take for the American people.”

Whatever he’s smoking - I want me some.

Robert Gibbs May Have Some Competition

President Obama’s Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has recieved an F- for his handling of the Obama Public Relations effort by most objective observers.  Maybe President Obama should provide stimulus to Julio Osegueda who currently works at McDonalds in Florida and is a 19 year old student at Edison State College by elevating him into the postion of Press Secretary for the President. Julio wants to be a communications major and he clearly is better at expressing himself than current Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. Who would fare better under the tough questioning of Jake Tapper of ABC News? See below for a comparision.

“Reconditioning the National Mall will create jobs.”

Today a reporter asked Robert Gibbs, Obama’s press secretary, to explain the $200 million for the National Mall in Washington.

He actually tries to justify it as a means to create new jobs.

REPORTER: Clearly with the contraceptive decision, the president is open to revising some component parts of the stimulus

GIBBS: I think that’s accurate.

REPORTER: And to pick up on the phrase you used before, look at the whole package through the lens of what’s economically productive. Does the President believe some other spending that’s been criticized – $200 million for the National Mall, $44 million to spruce up the exterior of the Agriculture Department….

GIBBS: Let’s talk about the Mall for a second.

REPORTER: Okay.

GIBBS: When we met on the first day of our presidency, we were on the Mall. Right? 1.8 million people stood on the Mall, which happens to be the most visited national park that we have. Right? I think that you can make a very credible case and the economic team has, that reconditioning the National Mall will create jobs. Probably through spending in small businesses.

Since when is the Park Service a small business? I mean the money will go there, not to small businesses. Sure, they’ll buy some grass seed from private businesses, which will take from existing inventory — not create new inventory or new jobs — but then the work will be handled by the government, which likewise will not hire new people to do the job.

So how again will this create new jobs? And even if it did, exactly how many would it create and how long would they last? Will we have to keep reseeding the lawn to keep the people employed?

These guys really do have no clue. And it is another reason the GOP should oppose the stimulus plan and be proven right when it fails.

Media Turns on Obama, Part 2

The White House is treating the press like the press corp is Obama’s pet. They whored themselves to get Obama elected, so they can hardly be surprised by it. Nonetheless, they are upset Obama’s pay to play marketing operation continues.

Veteran CBS newsman Bill Plante was one of the most vocal critics, questioning the White House’s handling of Wednesday night’s second swearing in – which was covered by just a four-reporter print pool that didn’t include a news photographer or TV correspondent.

He also asked new press secretary Robert Gibbs why ABC, which paid millions to host the DC Neighborhood Ball, was granted the only inauguration day interview with President Obama – a move he equated to “pay to play.”

“We have a tradition here of covering the president,” said Plante, who is covering his fourth administration.

What’s fun about this is that not all the press has gotten the memo. As Fox News notes, not everyone in the press is upset. Some still want to sexually gratify themselves in front of The One:

Pressed further by the Politico reporter about his Pentagon nominee, Obama turned more serious, putting his hand on the reporter’s shoulder and staring him in the eye.

“All right, come on” he said, with obvious irritation in his voice. “We will be having a press conference, at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions. Right now, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you guys — that’s all I was trying to do,” Politico.com reported.

The situation came to a close when a cameraman in the room interrupted, declaring: “I’d like to say it one more time: ‘Mr. President.’”
