Hillary’s Jihadist Friend
Hillary Clinton invited a controversial Muslim from Virginia, Esam Omeish, to participate in a conference call of Muslim leaders last week following President Obama’s call to reach out to Muslims in Cairo, Egypt. Omeish made headlines after it was discovered that he told a crowd at a pro-Palestinian rally in 2000 that “the jihad way is the way to liberate your land.”
So how did this radical Muslim end up as a member of Hillary Clinton’s outreach effort to loyal American Muslims? Is this just another example of the poor vetting process that goes on in the Obama administration? Did Hillary even know this man’s background before she invited him to participate in this conference call? Did she know this man’s outrageous Jihadist tendencies before her office contacted him?
In 2000 Esam Omeish urged people to support the Palestinian liberation movement.
One Down… Virginia’s Frederick Ousted
Looks like one success for the revitalization of the GOP has been had…
Frederick ousted as Va. GOP chairman

RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Republican Party Chairman Jeff Frederick was ousted Saturday after a troubled 10-month tenure capped by devastating losses in last year’s elections.
The state party’s governing central committee voted 57-18 to remove Frederick after key Virginia Republican elected officials and top party leaders called for him to resign or be fired.
The effort to sack the conservative, often combative and sometimes embarrassing state legislator from Prince William came after 58 members of the central committee signed off on a list of 10 charges against him.
The focus of the allegations was his handling of state party finances.
Mike Thomas, a leader of the movement to oust Frederick, takes over as interim party chairman, a role he has served three times since 2003.
Your Government-Run Health Care Outrage of the Day: 11,000 Colonoscopy Patients at Three VA Clinics May Have Been Exposed to HIV, Hepatitis
Over 11,000 veterans who received routine colonoscopies at three VA health centers are being warned to get blood tests for HIV, hepatitis, and other malignant viral infections in the wake of revelations that government-employed clinic staffers frequently neglected to sterilize the equipment between procedures.
Patients at the Veterans Affairs health centers in question — 3,260 in Miami (FL), 1,800 in Augusta (GA), and 6,400 in Murfreesboro (TN) — may have been exposed to “potentially infectious fluids,” according to the VA.
The fact that this is due to negligence on the part of the government-employed hospital staff is bad enough on its own, of course — but it gets worse, as some of those may have been infected with HIV or hepatitis as many as six years ago, and are just now being alerted about their possible infection and encouraged to get tested. (Thankfully for these folks, some Members of Congress who were concerned about their electoral viability in 2010 managed to talk President Obama out of charging them for the follow-up tests and treatment made necessary by gross negligence on the part of government-employed health care workers.)

Let’s not forget what they were planning (even though they’ve backed off from it for now)
Pelosi: Obama Backs Down on Charging Combat Wounded for Health Care
At a meeting with veterans’ groups on Capitol Hill, Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) said:
President Obama listened to the genuine concerns expressed by the veteran service organizations regarding the option of billing service-connected injuries to veterans’ insurance companies
Based on the respect President Obama has for veterans and the principle concerns of our veteran leaders, the president made the decision that combat wounds should not be billed through their insurance policies.
Of course, if President Obama really had all that “respect…for veterans” and for “the principle concerns of our veteran leaders,” wouldn’t he have realized (or had one of those “veteran leaders” tell him) what an outrageously boneheaded idea charging veterans for treatment of wounds suffered in combat was?
I mean, seriously — just say that out loud: “We’re going to try to make $500 million for the government by charging combat wounded for their treatment.” Okay, now think about what you just said — if you even need to. Yep — ridickeless stupid, isn’t it?
The latest New York Times did yet another story on Steele…
“Mr. Steele declined a request for an interview.”
Dan Riehl caught this first, and I concur: there are times when you pick yourself up, walk it off, and get back to work - and Steele’s gotten to that point. Yes, the media doesn’t love the GOP, except as a punching bag. And yes, the media loves to see Red-on-Red fights, the latest of which has spent far too much time occupying people’s brains than it should have for the last two weeks. And yes, there are ongoing philosophical issues between the various factions of the GOP that are causing all sorts of dynamic tension / impending meltdown / what have you.
Meanwhile, there’s a race going on up in NY-20. Is that less important to you than whether Steele’s sufficiently pro-life? If it isn’t, Tedisco can always use the help. There’s also a race going on over in IL-05. Are you looking for a better hill to fight and maybe die on than whether or not Rush is going to doom the GOP? If you are, Pulido wants to hear from you. Virginia and New Jersey are having elections for governor this year. Are you tired of the debate over who should be the next Presidential candidate? Then the NJ GOP and the VA GOP would be happy to redirect your interests to something a bit more topical.
I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. There is business that must be attended to, and at this point we are merely amusing the Other Side.
