Number of Hillary Clinton E-Mails with Classified Information Reaches 60

When I last wrote about Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal, we knew that four of the e-mails found on her server had classified information. However, in the time since then, it has come to light that the real number of e-mails with classified information in them is a much larger number, a story apparently ignored by the media. The most recent tally available, current to the end of July indicates that 60 of her e-mails have some sort of classified information on them. As the Washington Times explains:

While media coverage has focused on a half-dozen of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal emails containing sensitive intelligence, the total number of her private emails identified by an ongoing State Department review as having contained classified data has ballooned to 60, officials told The Washington Times.

That figure is current through the end of July and is likely to grow as officials wade through a total of 30,000 work-related emails that passed through her personal email server, officials said. The process is expected to take months.

If you’re a Clinton supporter, that second paragraph has to be frightening.* Government officials aren’t even close to finishing their search and they’ve already identified 60 problematic e-mails. That’s not a number that can easily be waved away. Per the article, the investigation should finish right around the time of the Iowa caucuses in January, meaning that primary voters should be well aware of just how big an issue her e-mails are. It’s already a big deal, but it looks like it has the potential to explode in size.

In a just world, the contents of these 60 e-mails alone–and as the article notes, that number doesn’t include the two with top secret information–should be enough to send Hillary to prison for a long time. However, she is not only a Democrat, but a Clinton. Herself will not go down easily, vulnerable though she might be at the moment, and the media will likely do all they can to protect her until the bitter end. That’s why it’s our job to keep this scandal in the news, and if we want a Republican in the White House, we have to do just that.

*=If you’re a person concerned with national security and accountability in government, that number is also scary, but for different reasons.
