Ballot Issues Giving Rangel Trouble in his Supposed Primary Win
By: Jake (Diary) | July 2nd at 12:27 PM |
Now, this is blue-on-blue stuff, so I don’t really have a “dog” in the race. Nevertheless, I’d just love to see someone like Charles “Tax Cheat” Rangel gone from Congress. In last week’s primary in New York’s 13th Congressional Distirct, which I posted on earlier, he faced his toughest primary challenge ever against State Senator Adriano Espillat. When the dust settled Tuesday night, Rangel appeared | Read More »
The Scandal-Ridden Tenure of Nancy Pelosi as Democratic House Leader: A Primer
By: Jake (Diary) | June 12th at 03:20 PM |
As you have hopefully heard by now, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) officially called for Anthony Weiner’s resignation today. Per CNN: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and the chairmen of the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called for Weiner to step down in separate statements earlier Saturday. Weiner’s decision to seek treatment and take a leave was not enough to satisfy | Read More »

GA-12: Trouble Brewing for Barrow
By: Jake (Diary) | March 27th at 01:20 AM |
I divide my time between Georgia’s 13th district and its 12th district, depending on whether I’m at home or in college. Unfortunately, I’m represented by Democrats, David Scott and John Barrow, respectively, in both districts. Since I’m registered to vote in the 12th district, I’ve been doing what I can to help the Republicans oust Barrow. Courtesy of NationalAtlas.gov.
Dan Benishek for Congress in MI-1

As the hours have passed today, it has become clear that Bart Stupak intends to sell his soul to Obamacare . As the leader of the pro-life Democrats in Congress, he held the fate of healthcare reform (and I used that word in the loosest possible sense) in his hands. Unfortunately, but probably unsurprisingly, he has chosen poorly, and he has sold America out to | Read More »
Sen. Baucus: Never mind the Republicans! Here’s our Healthcare Bill!
By: Jake (Diary) | September 16th at 04:43 AM |
Some of you may remember a few days back how Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) had said that he was willing to introduce a bipartisan healthcare bill to Senate, but if he couldn’t assemble such a coalition he was willing to go it alone with just the Democrats. Well, guess what? He did: Sen. Max Baucus’ decision to release his long-awaited health care overhaul bill with | Read More »
The Farce that was Rep. David Scott’s (D-GA-13) August continues into September
By: Jake (Diary) | September 6th at 12:47 AM |
The trip home from college for the three-day Labor Day weekend allows me to do many things. It gives me a chance to spend some time with my family, catch up with old friends, attend a football game at my old high school…. It also gives me a chance to catch up on the local political scene. I have written about David Scott’s farcical August | Read More »
That Town Hall Rant Wasn’t the Only Time David Scott (D-GA-13) Has Acted that Way
By: Jake (Diary) | August 10th at 04:32 AM |
Promoted from diaries – Moe Lane. Very rarely do I get to actually talk about my own hometown in a discussion on national politics. Very rarely are the goings on of Douglasville significant enough to merit a mention beyond the local papers. However, that rant by Representative David Scott was one of the exceptions to the rule. As someone who spends a good portion of | Read More »
House Majority Whip Clyburn Says Climate Change Hurts Blacks More
By: Jake (Diary) | July 30th at 01:16 AM |
I thought someone else here would beat me to it, but apparently not. Anyways, we all knew it was a matter of time before something like this happened. It seems like you can blame just about anything on the magical theory (read: religion) of global warming and twist and contort it to say just about anything about it, its effects, and who all it hurts | Read More »
