I don’t know what the traffic stats are for CNN vs. Redstate or other
right wing blogs.
A CNN poll hands the first debate to Obama.
“Fifty-one percent of those polled thought Obama did the better job in
Friday night’s debate, while 38 percent said John McCain did better.
Men were nearly evenly split between the two candidates, with 46 percent
giving the win to McCain and 43 percent to Obama. But women voters
tended to give Obama higher marks, with 59 percent calling him the
night’s winner, while just 31 percent said McCain won.
The results may be favoring Obama simply because more Democrats
than Republicans tuned in to the debate. Of the debate-watchers
questioned in this poll, 41 percent of the respondents identified
themselves as Democrats, 27 percent as Republicans and 30 percent as independents.”
And that is the rub. I know in many other polls the percentage of Democrat vs. Republican
is sometimes skewed to Democrats. This is what we fight as mainstream
America thinks Obama is “winning”. It really is a race of perception.
If American would do a little research I think they would be shocked.

Stupid Online Polling
Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:18AM EDT (link)Don’t cite these online polls and give them legitimacy. The KosKids are organized and “creeped” all those online polls. Bascially, the spent all night spamming those cites. Those polls are a joke. They are only significant because people reference them.
You know something? Let 'em play with the polling.
Moe Lane (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:21AM EDT (link)No, I mean it. Anybody who wants to cling to it or any other one – in about five minutes we’ll be hearing the first squawking about Rasmussen, no doubt – they can go right ahead. My compliments.
Why? Because we got at least three good campaign ads and four lines of attack on Barack Obama last night thanks to that debate, and the Democrats got diddly-squat. So I guess that we’ll just see, huh?

Also , There's No Representative Sampling For nline polls
Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:25AM EDT (link)Only libs go to CNN cite anyway. There is no representative sampling on online polls
This was a phone poll, folks.
Moe Lane (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:29AM EDT (link)I’m just going to note that before somebody with a frenetic typing style stops by to ‘helpfully’ tell you the same thing, only with more sneering.
Seriously, though: argue the polls, and you argue on the Left’s turf. Argue the debate, and you argue on ours. Because I saw that debate last night, and Obama had his head handed to him.

Many republicans at this time are already turning away from polls.
Rod_Patrick (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:30AM EDT (link)They know that they are only being used by partisan polls.
Part of the problem
LAWizard (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:33AM EDT (link)Was that the debate was held on a Friday night. I can’t stress how silly I think that is. Many people (conservatives) want to relax and spend the weekend with their families. It’s the liberals and political junkies who tuned in.
That is the problem
izoneguy (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:41AM EDT (link)Most Obama supporters are comfy with CNN and other MSM talking points. That is why it is important to identify, target and talk to Obama suporters one on one. My wife is even for Obama. it is tough. Talking her down from the great Ones aura is very difficult. Cult of personality is a scary thing. McCain does need to keep a steady stream of spots flowing in MSM. And they need to get more targeted ads into liberal websites where possible. I keep seeing pop ups for Obama everywhere.
Those who had once simpered: “I don’t want to destroy the rich, I only want to seize a little of their surplus to help the poor, just a little, they’ll never miss it!” – then, later, had snapped: “The tycoons can stand being squeezed; they’ve amassed enough to last them for three generations” – then, later, had yelled: “Why should the people suffer while businessmen have reserves to last a year?” – now were screaming: “Why should we starve while some people have reserves to last a week?” – Atlas Shrugged
Who cares about polls
wiseprince (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 8:44AM EDT (link)I followed CNN in 2004 and was absolutely convinced it was over for Bush. Watching politics on television give you a very skewed view on reality.
Concentrate on turning out a strong base, keeping the base energized. Independents love McCain and Palin.
The other thing I would worry about is Gov. Palin not being Palin. If she is honest and real and doesn’t try to pretend she knows something she doesn’t she will blow Biden away

So VP debate on Thursday will go better?
cincinattuscato Saturday, September 27th at 8:45AM EDT (link)Didn’t know mostly liberals watch Friday TV.
Is the base as strong as in 2004?
cincinattuscato Saturday, September 27th at 8:50AM EDT (link)At this point in 2004 Bush was leading.
Think about it...

On the bright side, I didn’t have to program the DVR. I just hit the button and recorded the live debate.

CNN Electoral Map
EionJ Saturday, September 27th at 9:17AM EDT (link)Should we believe this stupid map, does that mean Obama pick the right candidate since most of the mid-east coast state are going republican?
And should this electoral map stand, why does McCain start playing dirty politics? Obama and Biden are already throwing muds and lies on their commercials in several of the so-called battle ground (toss up) states?
Not until the end of October...
rbdwiggins (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 9:18AM EDT (link)And even then, there was no consensus among pollsters.

I'd say "stop patronizing CNN"!
Rod_Patrick (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 9:20AM EDT (link)We know that CNN is in the tank of Obama.
It won’t say anything good about McCain/Palin ticket until November 5, no matter what.

Remember that Ted Turner, a very guilty-for-being-so-rich-so-let-me-feel-better-with-high-taxes left-wing billionaire could be pulling just a few strings at CNN now and then.

Poll on Debate
dld1717 (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 1:10PM EDT (link)It does seem all networks are showing Obama won the debate which I find scary
Obama has always had star quality to him and his image makes him who he is and he is one polished speaker. I am not sure what to make of these polls because I though Mccain won the debate and now all of this is making me nervous
Even if McCain gets a bump it can evaporate on Thursday when Palin debates
As I said before, let 'em play with the polling.
Moe Lane (Diary) Saturday, September 27th at 1:21PM EDT (link)We have the debate itself, and there’s more there for us to use than the Other Side has to work with wrt the polls.

38% Obama
22% Tie
McCain won on who understands Iraq, Iran, and Russia better with about 54% each on all 3 questions
