Obama outlines job-creation plan
American workers will rebuild the nation’s roads and bridges, modernize its schools and create more sources of alternative energy, creating 2.5 million jobs by 2011, Obama said in the weekly Democratic address, posted on his Web site.
The plan will be aimed at jump-starting job creation, Obama said, and laying the foundation for a stronger economy.
“We’ll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels, fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technology that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years head,” he said.
He noted he will need support from both Democrats and Republicans to pass such a plan, and said he welcomes suggestions from both sides of the aisle.
WOW, WOW, WOW – This guy still does not have a clue!!
He is talking about the Federal Government creating a WPA for the 21st century.
Hey Obama! Did you get that memo about the $700 Billion Bail-Out???
He already wants to prop up the UAW to ensure that voting block for the future.
Now he wants to create more government jobs to ensure an even bigger voting block.
Really his quote should read:
“We’ll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges by raising taxes to a level the American people have never seen. Modernizing schools that are failing our children because of the radical, liberal teachings that have been unleashed by an unfettered teachers union. Building wind farms and solar panels that are still unproven and expensive technologies. Fuel-efficient cars that will never be able to be built by a bloated, corrupt auto industry. Alternative energy technology that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil because there is no way in hell I will allow the oil companies to develop our own resources so I keep saying alternative energy technology, whatever that is. And keep our economy competitive in the years head, it may take more than my first 4 years as president, perhaps we should amend the Constitution so I can serve as long as need be.

L_John_Hamre (Diary) Saturday, November 22nd at 12:45PM EDT (link)of all the 1930′s era ‘New Deal’ projects. Put people to work on infrastructure and other projects that are supposed to make America ‘a better place’ and pay for it with tax dollars. Apparently since he believes that worked so well the first time, he’s going to try it again.
Now we’ll really see how the ‘New Deal’ works in terms of helping the economy. The question is: is the potential permanent wrecking of our economy worth it?

I am praying for that to happen...
izoneguy (Diary) Saturday, November 22nd at 6:03PM EDT (link)…between his government program ideas and his Clintons re-treads I don’t think Obama will make it very far. His in-experience and Chicago style thugery will not serve him well.
Those who had once simpered: “I don’t want to destroy the rich, I only want to seize a little of their surplus to help the poor, just a little, they’ll never miss it!” – then, later, had snapped: “The tycoons can stand being squeezed; they’ve amassed enough to last them for three generations” – then, later, had yelled: “Why should the people suffer while businessmen have reserves to last a year?” – now were screaming: “Why should we starve while some people have reserves to last a week?” – Atlas Shrugged
