A portion of Bob Etheridge’s (NC-02 Out Of Work) gracious concession speech

Not.

Now, the election recount has concluded, and the numbers confirm that despite the incredible support we had – and neither candidate getting to 50% – in the end we came up just a little too short.

The combination of the national tide that swept the country, massive amounts of secret corporate cash funding a campaign of distortions, and dirty politics by Washington, DC partisan operatives was just too much to overcome. But what’s done is done.

I congratulate Mrs. Ellmers and wish her well as she prepares to serve the people of North Carolina’s Second District.

What happened, Mr. Etheridge, is that you followed your party off a cliff by voting for health care, and inspired a political novice who is also a nurse to run against you. What happened, Mr. Etheridge, is that your arrogance and jackassery were finally on full display when you manhandled some college kids who dared ask a simple question of you.

You outspent Renee Ellmers 3-1 in this race and had the power of incumbency and a tailor-made district behind you, and you still lost. Your votes in congress caused the tide that you blame for sweeping you out of office, and the country is better off without you.

Goodbye, and good riddance.

in the mirror, and then he’ll know why he lost. But his type can’t, they can only project, and he found out – as many others did – that the real mirror, the people, doesn’t lie.

It’s always “the message” or “conspiracies”. It’s never them.

While we sit back and enjoy the ride for a minute the train is going to be leaving the station again in very short order. There are Democrats who are in Red States that should NOT be speaking for their Conservative constituents and in such they MUST GO and for me personally that will be starting with Senator Webb! and I hope there is a candidate that can send Connolly home for good in 2012!

and it will be harder to put up conservative candidate. I am hiopng and I think there is a good chance that the opposite will be true. I think the key is to keep our leaders from running away from speaking about conservatism.

is to NOT listen to the MFM, as I scan Lucianne each day and see what they are trying to push on WE The People as truth the more I see that WE must fight as if our lives depended on it, and it does!

I am looking forward to learning how I can do more, and staying in contact with my county party (I already have a precinct captain in my district). The staffers at the local offices of my Senators know me by my voice.

My husband has been telling me for years, I needed a hobby. Now he is sorry I found one.

For me one of the biggest things that paralyses me is that I feel guilty for not getting active before now. I feel responsible for the country’s fall and the guilt can be overwhelming.

It is not your fault nor mine, nor anyone of the millions of us who found and find it hard to believe that those elected to office would think nothing of selling this beautiful Country down the river for their own personal power and gain. I suspect WE ALL were raised to respect those in power and it took the Country dying to realize they not only do they not deserve our respect but deserve our derision. I am just glad we are all awake and will NEVER AGAIN allow anyone person or group of people to take us down again :)

We will be stronger and more savvy next time. This year was a very good start, and not standing by like stumps letting Dems steal elections is also a good trend.

Ellmers will be a star – just wait.

massive amounts of secret corporate cash funding

…for an explanation of how the Obama campaign’s online funding software just happened to get modified, in a way that allowed them to accept millions of dollars from anonymously-purchased prepaid cards. How convenient.

Answer that question satisfactorily, and THEN talk to me about funding.

just a football field farther up White St. I could have voted against this guy. The entitlement, geez.

What is “gotcha journalism” about asking a Representative if he supports a President’s agenda? They didn’t ask him “Have you stopped beating your wife?” It’s a simple question.

The arrogance of power was on display. He got his backside handed to him by a no-name, a real person, and I love it.

All he had to do was say “We differ on some policy initiatives, but overall I support his direction”. Even if people in his district think the direction is wrong, they would have respected his demeanor and he would have won handily.

Hilarious! Thanks for playing our game, Fake Country Boy.
