And now for something absolutely, completely different
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | November 13th at 08:38 PM |
One college spring break I happened to be in Ft. Lauderdale, which was the New York Yankees spring training home. While there some friends and I caught an exhibition game featuring the Yanks versus the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore batted first, and the top of the order was a player named Drungo Hazewood. As you might imagine, when his name was announced there was some laughter | Read More »
BREAKING from Virginia – Perriello claims victory over Virgil Goode, absentee ballots make VA turn RED (?)
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | November 8th at 09:35 AM |
It seems that Charlottesville and Albermarle County, home of UVA and increasingly lefty, have found enough votes for Virgil Goode’s Democrat challenger, Tom Perriello, to win. From the Charlottesville Daily Progress:
Thank you, President-elect Obama!

Thank you, President-elect Obama. You and your campaign have clarified so many things that I hardly know where to start, but I will try to focus on five:
My Pledge To President – Elect Barack Hussein Obama and The American Left
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | November 5th at 06:37 AM |
I pledge to give our new President and his supporters the exact same respect and support that has been afforded President George Bush and Republicans. Starting today. Speaking of Republicans, abandoning conservative principles, the base and fellow elected Republicans has been such a great electoral strategy I believe we should work on perfecting it before the next election cycle. I would mention this to the | Read More »
A response to : Dear Red States
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | November 3rd at 06:57 PM |
Have any of you gotten the e-mail titled “Dear Red States”? It is a letter informing all of us living in the red states that the blue states intend to secede, and it has been making the rounds lately (just google it if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading it). Anyway, here is my response. Copy, paste and e-mail at will.
One last shout-out to Hillary supporters
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 31st at 11:11 AM |
This election is making many things crystal clear to Republicans, but for once they are things that you Hillary supporters knew long before we did. You expected the media to be the referee in your contest. You expected them to report the facts – ALL the facts – about both candidates, so the electorate could make an informed decision.
The Democrat Culture of Corruption in North Carolina – four little examples
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 22nd at 10:51 AM |
As I glanced at what used to pass for a newspaper, the Raleigh (N.C.) News and Observer, I noticed four photo captions on the front page of the October 22nd edition that told a story that Democrats really don’t want you to hear. From the N&O: FORMER HOUSE SPEAKER JIM BLACK, a Democrat, pleaded guilty last year to public corruption charges for accepting $29,000 in | Read More »
ATTN: Rush, Hannity, et al – Help me help Joe The Plumber
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 16th at 08:35 PM |
As was predicted by many and written about on this site by Andy Smith, the long knives are indeed out for Joe The Plumber. The unions are after him, the press is after him, and it turns out he owes back taxes. I have no doubt that several more tax audits are in his future – you see, you have to be a certain type | Read More »
Please use these in the debate, Senator McCain
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 9th at 10:20 PM |
“You may want to associate me with President Bush – that’s fine. The only associations I have ever had are with patriots, including George W. Bush, and that is something you simply cannot say.” “With the new investigations regarding ACORN, we now know what Obama’s community organization was all about – voter fraud. And if it weren;t for me and my fellow Republicans, Obama and | Read More »
David Gergen’s narrative – afraid of “violence” unless McCain quits “attacks” UPDATED
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 9th at 10:05 PM |
On Anderson Cooper’s 360 tonight (the only reason I was watching was that I was trying to find the Wake – Clemson game on ESPN), the political panel consisted of the worthless Ed Rollins, David Gergen, and Paul (Begala, and the evil one, crept up and slipped away with her her, her her, her…”). When asked about McCain’s “attacks” on Obama, David Gergen commented that | Read More »
The bailout bill, tipping points and conservatism
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | October 5th at 10:53 PM |
“In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, ‘Make us your slaves, but feed us.’” Dosteovsky’s Grand Inquisitor In accepting the bailout bill, both Main Street and Wall Street have laid their freedom at the feet of the government. In my view, the bill will long be viewed as a tipping point for America, the point at which | Read More »
Why Keith Olbermann’s claim to have lost five friends on Sept 11th is important
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | September 11th at 09:40 AM |
We first need to do a little review of the events that started Olbermann’s rise – please bear with me. After a bizarre exit from ESPN, he did a year of “All Lewinsky, All The Time TV”. Apparently that did not give him the “hard news” chops he craved, so he took a little hiatus, doing a radio show for ABC.
IS THAT MSNBC I SEE ADVERTISING ON REDSTATE?
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | September 11th at 06:59 AM |
I’ll keep it short and sweet – if you need money THAT badly guys, ask us. In my view you might as well take money from Hugo Chavez or Robert Mugabe. MSNBC? I am going to log out for today, then log back in tonight, and pretend this never happened.
Some friendly advice to Chris Matthews regarding Keith Olbermann
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | September 9th at 08:25 PM |
Chris, I feel sorry for you. I remember watching you way back when – life was good, discussions were lively and you were the MAN. You lent MSNBC some stature, some gravitas, some credibility. Of course, you were a little self-absorbed, but I overlooked that. Heck, you even guest hosted Rush’s show, even though it turned into a bit of a monologue – “Peace Corp, | Read More »
A friendly warning to liberals on this site
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | September 3rd at 05:41 PM |
The unfettered hate is spewing like water from an untended fire hose. Even puffy little magazines like “Us Weekly” are getting in to the act, at the expense of a woman who, on paper, the left should admire. It must be fun in the untamed wilderness of a complete, full bore propaganda onslaught against those you despise so. But in the midst of your joy, | Read More »
Why I am voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | September 2nd at 01:20 PM |
As many of you may know, I was not enthused about John McCain as the Republican nominee, to say the very, very least. I won’t rehash the reasons here, but they dovetailed with strongly held convictions that have stood the test of time. That, combined with Republicans’ not being willing to take any positive action on anything, much less even defend themselves, also led me | Read More »
I am VERY concerned about what is going on in Louisiana

John Edwards admits affair
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | August 8th at 02:33 PM |
From Fox News online: “In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.” I guess this is sort of along the lines of the “I didn’t inhale” defense. “According to friends of Hunter, Edwards met her at a New York city | Read More »

Conservation – YES! Umm, not so fast, my friend
By: Jack_Savage (Diary) | July 14th at 11:12 PM |
If I need to drive a Prius, and burn wood in the winter, and buy gas on odd days to achieve energy independence from the Middle East, sign me up! Well, at least that is the opinion I spouted until last summer.
