MEMBER DIARY

President Obama, I sincerely thank you!

My fellow Americans,

I’d like to confess, that I’ve had a change of heart regarding President Obama.

I would like to thank Americans for electing Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States and for now, even overlook his questionable constitutional eligibility.

I hope you will stand with me and support our President and his aggressive policies.

Mostly, I am grateful to President Obama for his radical fascist agenda and affinity for ignoring, usurping and actively working to destroy the United States of America and the Constitution upon which it was founded.

Had Barack Obama not come in to our lives and enlightened us all with his manifesto, we would still be too busy to pay much attention to the daily activities of our government.

Thanks to this President we have rediscovered America’s founding principles. We have rediscovered the Constitution. We have read it and even re-read it and given out pocket copies to our friends and neighbors.

It’s thanks to the talents of President Obama’s community organizing expertise, that we have discovered that we too can speak up and speak out. Protesting is now no longer the sole dominion of the radical left. We are no longer the silent disenfranchised majority.

Normal, usually too busy and generally silent, everyday Americans are now finding the time to go to Town Halls and speak their minds and discipline their public servants.

President Obama’s contribution to our new-found empowerment is still being written and will be immortalized someday for all, by historians.

But already in a mere 7 months in office, he has successfully brought us together through his desire for socialized healthcare. Town Halls are now more popular than ever. People are sharing their passion against Cap and Trade, deficit spending and high taxes!

And even in the height of the lazy, hazy days of August when nothing is news worthy nor gets done, the visionary Obama seized the moment to surprise us yet again, with the exciting celebration of China’s 60th anniversary of the Communist revolution. He will fly China’s commie flag over our White House on Sept 20th!

But just when you thought he couldn’t possibly outdo himself any further, he treats us to another incredible blessing:
A special National Address to share his wisdom to our children as they head back to school. Not to worry, educators will be more than eager to explain any subtleties that may have escaped the kids.

How exciting and selfless it is indeed for this President to open the door for us to be able talk to our local school administrators!
Thanks to our newly honed Town Hall community activism skills, our school principals will surely be greeted with all the spirited engagement we have already bestowed on our elected servants.

So, thank you Mr. President for making us stronger and teaching us to stand up for our selves.

You are indeed “the one we’ve been waiting for.”

Hope and Change is finally coming!

(“Under those guidelines, the Chinese flag has flown on White House grounds before, in April of 2006, when President Hu Jintao visited then President George W. Bush.”)

2.) A special National Address to share his wisdom to our children as they head back to school. Not to worry, educators will be more than eager to explain any subtleties that may have escaped the kids.

(Reagan, and Bush both did it too… Reagan even INCLUDED policy in his speech – something Obama is NOT doing.)

Why didn’t you just refer to Huffpo or DailyKos?

My guess is your trolling days are just about over around here.

I don’t understand why I am a troll? What is this site’s working definition of ‘trolling’? Are liberals not allowed to participate in calm and respectful discussion?

Also – just to note: You didn’t respond to the info that I provided, debunking BOTH major points of the article. All you did was tell me you didn’t read/like HuffPost. Which, I sort of assumed.

Using a source like Media Matters shows your motives. They don’t even slant the truth, they just flat out lie. They’re so biased they couldn’t even get enough support from the liberals in Colorado and pretty much packed up and left.

As for your comparing giving a speech to a small group of students, vs. Obama giving a televised speech to every student, with suggested curriculum which amounts to encouraging a cult of personality suggests just how desperate you are to try to dismiss the concerns of parents throughout the political spectrum and support your man-god.

At least be honest and admit this is different, but you still don’t see a problem with it. Then we can deal with the issue at hand. But I doubt you’ll do that, because you simply can’t see it. If G.W. Bush had planned something like just like this, you’d have been screaming from the rooftops.

We allow a few tokens to hang around here, but we mostly shoo away those who shill for the bad guys.

    Your prospects aren’t good.

The article I sourced (both of them) made mention that the speech was not to just a group of students – that was the forum in which the speech was rebroadcast and shown to students all over the nation.
(Here is yet ANOTHER link, if you don’t believe me: http://gothamschools.org/2009/09/04/from-the-archives-ronald-reagans-1988-speech-to-students/ )

If G.W. gave a speech about his policies to school children, yes, I would be mad – but I wouldn’t string it to this ridiculous cry of ‘indoctrination’ of our children. I would simply base my resistance to this on the basis of ideology differences.

That is my bigger point – if the right wing said “We are keeping our kids home, simply because we don’t support Obama’s policies”. That would be one thing – something that I agree every American has the right to do. But this is NOT what the right is saying – they are making a case that addressing school children IN GENERAL is some communistic takeover, calling comparisons to China, and harping on the ol’ Obama is a ‘facist’ rhetoric bandwagon.

Providing historical context to the fact that many presidents have done this, coupled with the fact that Reagan actually MADE policy a topic of his speech, should show that those claims of this being a facist move is simply silly.

Also – I thought my use of a foxnews link counterweighted my media matters link ;) . (Coincidentally, I haven’t heard any complaints about that debunking… ?)

Could we just all agree that we are trying for the good of the country? The goal is the same; we just have a different path that we want to take.

This insular, blocking your ears and yelling ‘la la la’ does nothing for the country. Just like I tell my left wing friends who ONLY read HuffPo – you need to constantly submerse yourself in other’s opinions. Not only will it sharpen what you believe, and really test it on a daily basis – but it also allows you the insight to truly see that most of us all want the same thing, but like I said before, we just have different ways to go about it.

Like I said in my opening post on another topic – I read this site for those reasons. I consider it a work out for my mind – something that keeps my opinions honest, and allows me to learn from the other side. And to be honest, before I started posting here, I thought all of you would share my opinion, and be happy to have me here. However, all I’ve gotten so far is little response to my post’s content, and just accusations of trolling, me being a ‘dumb snot’, and other, just spiteful, useless comments.
I expected more from a site that, though I don’t find shares my political ideals, I’ve always found to at least be THOUGHTFUL and professional.
    It’s disappointing.

Just because the GPS location may have moved a few feet to be technically off of white house property, does not alter the rest of the facts behind the WND story.

After originally wanting to fly it on the South lawn of the White House, now the story has changed according to Fox News (i.e White House came up with a more palatable way of doing the same thing): A ceremony, indeed, will take place. But it won’t happen on the White House grounds — rather, on the Ellipse, on the other side of E Street from the presidential residence.http://www.foxnews.com/po…-chinas-flag-south-lawn/
So it’s not technically on White House property just in front of the white house! Oh well thank you for the clarification. In that case i guess the implication of Obama condoning this celebration is now irrelevant? It must be so difficult being an liberal. Your incessant mental twisting must be exhausting!

Yeah, I know somekid is gone now, but this is for any other lefty lurkers out there. They always neglect the admission that not only will Obama speak to students, but he* also wants them to read books about him and have students write letters on how they plan to support him. Apparently, it isn’t even legal.

*The buck stops with Obama, whether he likes/admits it or not.

you’ve dispatched her. Thank you, I knew she was up to no good.

according to conservative estimates at the time. This is something Chinese want to celebrate? Those who won’t stand for principle won’t stand for anything.
