MEMBER DIARY

Nightmare on Pennsylvania Avenue or is it, Groundhog Day? UPDATE

Yesterday in the midst of a non-battle over the keeping taxes the same bill, Senator Harry Reid or as I like to call him Freddy Krueger dropped back into our dreams and slashed us with a nightmare. Reid decided to ruin another Christmas in America with 1.2T (yes that is trillion) dollars in spending Freddy Invades America. I truly couldn’t believe it, I was immediately angry, frustrated, defeated and finally I decided to write this diary. I write this diary in hopes that We The People can get the message out to contact both your Congressperson and Senators even if they are Democrats to STOP THE MADNESS. We shut down the Senate phones during the illegal alien amnesty bill and we have got to do it one more time. We need to contact our local TEA Parties as well to spread the message that we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore. I believe that Friday between 9AM-12P that we need to light up the phones. I cannot begin to express how ignorant these people are and how arrogant they are, they have literally just told us to shut up and take it.

The Democrat Party for the last two Christmases have taken the very spirituality of the season away with their disgusting power trips. They have disregarded our requests in voice and vote to stop the spending and we must fight back. I am personally going to visit my two Senators and my Congressman down in DC because I live here. They are all Democrats, I intend to tell them how what they have allowed to occur for the past two years in un-American. I intend to tell them that they are destroying the American dream and subjecting my children and their children with debt for things they will not even benefit from. That the payoffs to lobbyists and cronies are destroying their future, for the benefit of a few today. I will tell them that I will do what I can to ensure their defeat if they vote for this monstrosity and I will do so quietly and with a courage they do not have.

I believe strongly that if we let them get away with this, START, DREAM and DADT, that they will have integrated so many of their leftwing nightmares into the government that we shall never break free of them. It will be near impossible to put the brakes to all they have written into these bills in the next Congress because the Senate Democrats will stall them. It has to be now and I am ready to fight, are you?

UPdate: FOX News is reporting that some of those Republican Appropriators who were yes votes are getting queasy….MAKE THE CALL! I hope they are throwing up all night long. again 9AM to 12P 12/17/10, call and call again, keep calling until the Senate phones fry! They have to know that WE The People are extremely serious. Please spread the word via Twitter, Facebook, friends and family and just keep calling. John McCain has said get the pitchforks, well the phone and if Freedomworks who is making calls to connect you to your Senator wants to get a STOP THE BILL march on Saturday would definitely be the equivalent to the pitchforks. We Are Trying Senator McCain, You Republican Senators Do Your Damnedest!

I had forgotten (probably because my sub-conscious has blocked this out of my memory out of self-preservation) that last year my Christmas Eve was spent watching the Marxist Dems and the feckless ‘Pubs give away 1/6th of my country to the beaurocrats.

Thanks for the reminder. The nightmare of the last tow years doesn’t end until January (hopefully) and there are still battles to be waged.

    Nice reminder!

the Obamacare bill we had just given 700B to banks and Obama and his marxist views were getting ready to take over the Country. They are DESTROYING Christmas, we need to stop them!

most of the conservatives in our so-called “center-right” country are not doing anything in politics.

A new Diarest, professor123, wrote a good summary of the status quo. And asks if our country really is “center-right” and will remain so.

Our “center-right” country elected Obama — he received 53 per cent of the votes of those who bothered to even cast votes (only about 65 per cent of registered voters bothered). And, likewise, our “center-right” country in 2008 also elected majorities to the House and Senate.

Our “center-right” country did a little better in the 2010 election cycle, but, still, only about 50 per cent of registered voters bothered to go to the polls in this “most important election in our lifetimes.”

And now the pundits are saying, and some incumbent Republicans are saying (like John McCain and Lindsey Graham), that, apparently, the Congress has not “heard” the American people. Wrong. They heard. They. Don’t. Care.

Letters? Faxes? Phone calls? Against the monstrosities they will pass that will bankrupt our country and tear at its fabric? They don’t care. History tells them that if the American people do not actually engage in party politics in greater numbers, by actually getting involved in their local party committees, where they can exercise real political power (like endorsing candidates running against the incumbents in the primary elections, like electing the leadership of the party, like being in the best position to get out the vote for primary election candidates of their choosing), then they will cruise to victory in the next primary election and general election.

In our “center-right” country, right now, about 200,000 Republican precinct committeeman slots are vacant across America. About 54 per cent of the slots are vacant in Maricopa County, Arizona, where I live — supposedly “Goldwater Country.” Our “center-right” country can’t even muster 200,000 people to figure out where and how to unite politically to actually put real pressure on the incumbents.

Until conservative Americans, in droves, attend their local Republican Party committee meetings to learn how to become precinct committeemen, and then participate in party politics (this process is not difficult, onerous or expensive — it’s open to all registered Republicans), the incumbents will continue to ignore the wishes of the American people and tax and spend all they want.

Oh, and don’t worry, none of the incumbent Republicans will harass you to do this. You find any video of them imploring you to come into the the Party to become precinct committeemen. You won’t receive any direct mail pieces from them urging you to get involved in party politics. Why? Because they don’t want you to do this. They’ll ask for your money. They’ll ask for your time. They’ll ask you to volunteer to help them get out the vote. But they’ll NEVER tell you about how you could UNITE POLITICALLY — where it matters, inside the Republican Party — because you might end up in a position to challenge THEM in the primary elections.

We know what the problem is: our so-called “center-right” country keeps electing bad people. The question is: what are we, individually, going to do about it?

The Republican Party is there for the taking. Will you go get your piece of it? A precinct committeeman slot?

Here’s how some where I live decided to act:

and promptly fell into the twilight zone.

My D Senator, McCaskill is a definite no vote. My (nominally) R Senator is that SOB Bond and he won’t say how he’s voting. And that’s because he’s such a [redacted] coward he’s trying to avoid the voter calls.

I cannot wait until he’s not my Senator any more. I just wish we could tar and feather him before he leaves town. And I’d bet my life savings that he stays in DC rather than coming home to MO. He never has represented us, just those stupid beltway elites. [redacted]!!

I know a lot of people like to complain about people like Snowe, and Voinovich and whatever, but I’m interested in seeing how many people REALLY did not request earmarks.

again. We voted these CLOWNS out because of their behavior last Christmas. Now they are trying to screw us all over again. Even though my Senators will more than likely vote NO on all of the Dem measures (Thank God), I will still be calling to let them know I want them to fight and fight hard.

I am SO glad to live in the state I live in. The only downside is that sometimes people can be complacent because they think that the craziness in Washington will never affect us because we live in such a conservative state. I believe that is beginning to change though and it is good to see.

“I believe that Friday between 9AM-12P that we need to light up the phones”

    Don’t wait for that.
DEMAND the Republican Senators stop START, DADT, the budget and the whole she-bang.

DEMAND that they shut down the lame duck with a wall-to-wall filibuster.

DEMAND the Republican Senators call on EVERY BILL TO BE READ COMPLETELY. DEMAND that they deny evey unanimous consent request and tie the Senate in knots.

DEMAND the Republican Senators make speeches on the floor until they are hoarse.

DEMAND that they in turn DEMAND a full slate of amendments on this horrible budget bill, and DEMAND if those demands are not met that they shut down the Senate entirely with a wall-to-wall filibuster and ‘no’ on every cloture.

DEMAND they work as hard NOW as the grassroots activists worked in getting them ELECTED.

The battle is joined – NOW!

A year ago Obamacare hung in the balance, in the end, on the thinnest and flimsiest of margins, it was passed.

We cannot afford the same lousy Christmas ‘gift’ of carp-sandwich bills that encrust liberalism for years to come. Do you want this Christmas to be as dismal in DC as it was last Christmas? If not, then LIGHT UP THE PHONES!

Senator Demint asked for the bill to be read aloud and then debated.

These Senators want to start the debate tomorrow and rush the vote:
Lame Ducks Bennet and Voinovich, Brown, Collins, Lugar,Murkowski, Snowe, Lindsey Graham and John McCain. Evan Bayh did not vote.

Some are the same ones that voted for the Omnibus Spending bill.

Together they have $410,000,000,000 in earmarks written in the bill.
Looks like Santa Reid is delivering Christmas gifts again – like the Cornhusker Kickback, Louisiana Purchase, etc…

continuing resolution however START comes up tomorrow and DADT and DR#\EAM come up Saturday, still CALL!

…to want nothing more than to destroy Christmas. They’re too naughty for coal in their stockings. They deserve our boots up their butts, now and forevermore.

So help me, I will bludgeon them out of office with Lady Liberty’s torch. (Not uber-literally, in case you couldn’t tell. I don’t think I’d like the prison they’d send me to.)
