On The Priebus Of Disaster….

I am sure the bulk of the grassroots of the Republican Party haven’t given the RNC Chair much thought and why should they? They just had a big win in November, right?.  In 2009 when things were bleak with the Democrats having just taken all levels of government, the only thing we had was the Chair race.  It seemed that Michael Steele had momentum at his back as he walked the walk and talked the talk of the grassroots.  He of course ended up being a snake in the grass of the roots of the Party.  He like liberals everywhere utilized the race card and he left the Party broke.  Liberals have a way of destroying everything they touch and of course they are in the Republican Party The Hijacking of Conservatism By Big Government Progressives.  It is now time to replace Michael Steele and be rid of the sorry state of the Republican National Committee that he created.  Interestingly we have a “new” guy who couldn’t have been closer to Michael Steele then if they were a newly married couple, Reince Priebus You Have Come A Short Way Baby .  This “new” guy has a very interesting background, almost liberal like with his moves from the racist NAACP (who are no friends to the grassroots of the Republican Party) to his law firm, which not only encouraged obtaining funds from that 800B “stimulus” bill to discouraging fighting Obamacare There Will Be War I don’t like the arguments about “he couldn’t know”, “its a big law firm”. I think we have heard those excuses about lobbyist’s no? yes we have! It is the inside elite in DC that have little by little stripped We The People of a voice but we changed that in November and we must continue to change that at every level of the Republican Party. I wonder, is Priebus friends with Al Sharpton as well Can we have a Party that is straight up Conservative? We certainly deserve it

The battle for the heart and soul of this Country has not been easy, as a matter of fact is has been grueling We Had To Take To The Streets.  The only way forward for the Country to get back to its limited government design is through the Republican Party.  The only way to ensure that the Republican Party once again becomes the Party of limited government is by ensuring a leader who believes in that as well.  There will be no third Party, there can only be the takeover of the Republican Party Our Own Ron Robinson Wants You To Fight Too.  This is one of those chances where by contacting your Republican Committee Chairman you can make a change in the Party.

It has recently come to my attention that the things I have seen about Reince have been observed by others in the RNC.  Politico is reporting a RNC Chairman out of CT has the same concerns I Do Not Believe This Is The Man For Our Party

When the Executive Committee borrowed another $5 million in late fall, without seeking approval from the Budget Committee, Members were informed the matter was “approved by legal.” And when Steele announced the “Fire Pelosi Tour” a self-indulgent waste of time and resources, Peibus was tossing “Fire Pelosi” hats to anyone who would have them. As we know, the tour was a joke and RNC subsidized “Feel the Love Tour” for Chairman Steele and his sycophant followers. Those precious funds could have been the difference in several key races, where victory was painfully elusive.

Let us not sit out here and pretend like this guy, this INSIDE guy did not have a clue what Michael Steele has been up to for the last two years. To ignore that is to stick our heads in the sand once again. Let us not quietly go back to our lives and let the DC insiders of either Party just resume their picking apart of Conservative values. Let us be heard, we donate to Conservatives and PAC’s and we are the one’s who make the calls and stuff the envelopes, knock on doors, put out signs on dangerous highways. We should have a say in this debate. Go here to submit a question for the debate on Monday Be Heard, It Is Your Party, And Your Country At Stake

You see it is the type of activities that Michael Steele and Reince Priebus have been involved in at the RNC, that have given Republicans the pathetic name of being the Party of the rich (when we damn well know that is the Democrat Party). There were a few times in history when the Republican Party was the Party of We The People, the Party of Lincoln, the Party of Reagan. It is time to return the Party back to the people. Make your calls and stop this insanity from continuing. It is indeed time for change, real change in the Republican Party!

    Great, great title.

they literally pop into my head…I am schizophrenic that way…LOL! I am praying that the grassroots get in the game and make the Party hear them. NO ONE should ever just waltz into the leadership of the RNC ever again. It really has been a sad state of affairs the running of the RNC, I wanted to find a diary Erick did in 2009 about some of the shady characters that were working there, and stayed there under Steele but couldn’t find it. The point of that link would have been to remind the grassroots of the WHY as to how we got here and stayed here.

This would be a done deal in 2012 anyway, but would really help our cause, and the GOP, by getting in there now. We might even get hitched again. After all, they’ve been parading our wedding band for several years ….only slipping it off when they go out on the town.

      • texasgalt

“Fire me or shut up.” The fact that he got away with that tells you everything about the RNC and the insiders that run it.

Until they clean out most of the royalists and the expense account whorechasers too, they can pound sand.

  • deevee

It was “we the people” who want smaller less powerful government who voted to turned Wisconsin around.

    • JadedByPolitics

it was not the RNC nor the NRCC that created the conditions for November it was indeed WE The People. If you want to get the Party at the level of thinking of us then you must contact your Committee Chair and DEMAND that they not place insiders back inside the tent!

      • JadedByPolitics

was the Republican Governor’s Association. They will in the future get my money before I ever donate to the RNC under the current crop of insiders who skulk inside it!

        • pompadour

and I would agree to some extent that it was “We the People” of Wisconsin who made a determination that it was time for the likes of Jim “Trainiac” Doyle and Russ “I’m the Bomb” Feingold to go. However, it’s important to remember that Priebus had everything to do with ensuring that our choices were limited to establishment-blessed candidates–and ONLY establishment blessed candidates. So far, Walker is working out well, though he just appointed Pete Bildsten head of the Department of Financial Institutions (which is more than a little worrisome since I know for a fact that he’s backed liberal causes in his city of residence, Baraboo). But in Johnson, Priebus knowingly foisted a substandard candidate with progressive tendencies on us. Yeah, it’s definitely time for pompadour to open her mouth after a long silence…

            I can’t wait!!

          • Jon E. Schultz II (IlliniJon)

Pompadour, who would you have rather had win the Senate primary? Wall, who proved he was a petulant little baby after he didn’t win the nomination at convention? Westlake, who had a *great* message but ran his campaign selling T-shirts like he was running for student council?

Both these guys would have been absolutely *smoked* by Feingold. Johnson didn’t win the endorsement because of a bunch of underhanded activity – he won because none of the other candidates came anywhere close to sealing the deal with convention delegates. They left a gaping opening, which Johnson easily stepped through.

I just don’t buy the big conspiracy theory.

Erect stop signs at the intersection of big government and big business for the politicians that wait there for profit and power…

Every time I think of this RNC election coming up, I can’t help but remember the last one. We got rid of Mike Duncan because he wasn’t doing the job. What we got in his place was someone who almost seemed hell bent on destroying the institution. Nait many are fooled into thinking that Steele and the RNC were responsible for the Republican wave this past November.

Mike Duncan, and fellow elite traveller Karl Rove, go off and start their own quasi shadow RNC, and, call in their chits with many former big Republican donors. I believe they collected something like $70 million, which would have gone a very long way with a strong, competent, focused, agenda driven RNC and it’s Chair.

If Steele wins re-election, or he plays musical chairs with Priebus, we are screwed. Then again, most of us have gotten more in the habit of donating directly to the candidates that are the choice of We The People. I suspect we will continue to do that until we can make our voices heard in DC.

    • http://thesandsinstitute.org Vassar Bushmills

They are, and the few GOP donors who will continue to give them money. Their losses will quintuple, as WE have already proved we can win races, and entire chambers, alone. If not this time, the next.

      • Scope

and yes it is up to us to insure the proper candidates go to DC. Every campaign now, from House Rep. to Senator, and everyone in between, is getting more and more costly every election cycle. The reason why the little guy usually doesn’t even bother is because of the massive costs. It’s difficult to gain name recognition without big bucks. It would be very nice, and very helpful if the RNC had a conservative at the helm, that would recognize, and financially help the conservative against what usually amounts to well financed union or ACORN supported Dems. Hasn’t there been conversation here just recently about how many more seats we may have been able to pick up if the RNC was able to help, even just with a ground game. One example I’m thinking of is Ruth McClung. Her national support came a little too late.

    • wonkish1

With Campaign Finance than anything else.

What is the limit at the RNC per person? Like $4000?

A 501(c)4 can get unlimited and so can a 527. They just can’t promote any specific candidate or bill. They can only do ads indirectly in favor someone or something or attack their opponent. So you can thank whats left of McCain-Feingold for having to listen to practically only negative attacks. Those 501(c)4′s and 527s are also really inhibited on the GOTV as well.

So hopefully everybody will realize that the RNC, the NRCC, and NRSC all focus on ground game, state and county level support, and positive ads.

Leave it to the 501(c)4′s and the 527s to attack because they can get limitless donations.

      • wonkish1

Do with the fact that Rovian political philosophy has permeated all through the entire professional GOP industry. And is making its way through the Dems to.

I’ll come out and say that I don’t agree with much of Rovian political philosophy. I find it extremely short sighted.

        • Scope

For Rove, he’s worried if he loses all his ruling class friends in DC, he won’t be a part of the cocktail party crowd. The guy wants to keep the party what it was in the days when he invented compassionate conservatism. He refuses to see that we’ve moved on from him.

          • wonkish1

Referencing political strategy. In regards to intentions you’re sentiments are probably correct.

His political strategy is based on excessive micro targeting, excessive use of negative ads(to drive up your opponents negatives in their approval index), focusing on a “just enough to win” strategy, excessive message control, and brow beating all of your supporters(until they literally get pissed) into showing up to the polls.

That is a strategy that is probably the best for winning any single election. It also is so excessive that people get pissed at you, get turned off of politics, and are then harder to get motivated for the next election. It short sided, puts future elections in jeopardy, and therefore has a very steep half life(I.e. each time you use that strategy it becomes more and more ineffective).

          • wonkish1

Since you are excessively microtargeting and only focusing on the areas that “matter” for that election. Then it makes future attempts at expanding the map more difficult because you haven’t been playing in those areas. And it allows you opposition to make inroads against you elsewhere because you have completely shut down your conversation with them in the interest of only targeting the *most* swing voters.

          • Scope

I was being sarcastic to my post above. Yes, Rove never has seemed worried about holding the base first, and then expanding on it. He seems only concerned with getting the independents. Yup, we need the independents, but, you lose if you can’t hold the base.

          • tennwriter

My disagreement with Rovian tactics is getting just enough to win.

I want to clean the Lefties clock with a nice 60% landslide.

Do you know who the delegates are that will be voting for the RNC Chair? I know Morton Blackwell is already committed to Saul, thankfully.

Does anyone have the names of the delegates from their states, or the entire list. I believe there are 168 delegates, approx. Since we are holding their feet to the fire, shouldn’t it also be those that will be doing this voting?

      are available through this map:
      http://www.gop.com/index.php/site/states
Click on a state, and the first three names listed — state chair, plus the two nat’l committeemen — are the voting delegates. Besides Morton Blackwell, the ones from Virginia are State Chair Mr. Pat Mullins and
      Committeewoman Mrs. Kathy Terry.

H/T: Redtillimdead, yesterday in Ron Robinson’s piece.

      • JadedByPolitics

and he is a grassroots guy :)

        • kestrel

I recognize Morton Blackwell’s name, which Scope mentioned above, as being the CPAC board member who went on record against the CPAC chairman’s secretive decision on giving GOProud a role in the convention. He and Ron Robinson seem to be the only ones who will say how they voted on that matter — they voted no. It is good to know there are some people high up in the Party who are on the side of ordinary Americans. Michigan does not seem to be overflowing with such people, though there are some. At my county’s convention in December, newcomers were completely shut out of having any official influence in choosing the state party leadership this year (to such an extent that I wondered if there are grounds for a lawsuit). I have been purposely ignoring this RNC thing, but okay, boot in backside received, I’ll go read your links and see what I can do. Thanks.

P.S. Your “Be Heard” link isn’t working above, but I got it from your crosspost. http://rncdebate.org/ Also, it looks like the debate is tomorrow (Monday) rather than Tuesday? I didn’t even know there was such a thing, so you’ve already put me ahead of where I was. Thanks again.

          • JadedByPolitics

for letting me know about the link, and the day, it is fixed :)
