The Robert’s Tax and the Boiled Frog Syndrome
One man levied a “tax” on americans today. His name is John Roberts, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He could have chosen the path of justices Kennedy, Thomas, Scalia or Alito. He could of used the words of Obama that it is not a tax. He alone, chose to write an opinion that it was a tax, over the objections of other conservative justices and President Obama’s own words. If he voted the other way than there would be no tax, Obamacare would not have been law. This law survives because Roberts called this a tax.
Now does this open the door to government intrusion as long as the Supreme Court calls it a tax? It appears so.
The Boiled Frog Syndrome goes something like this:
If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, he’ll jump out. But if you place a frog into a pot of lukewarm water and slowly turn up the heat, it will boil to death.
This appears to be what is happening to the country we love. More and more liberal ideology, dependency, lack of culture, lack of morality, perversion of truth and rewards for deception have increased in our society. Some people say that John Roberts is playing a game. I agree. The conservative cause is the loser if John Roberts is looked at as a conservative justice. I also believe conservatism is being boiled like a frog. More and more people are straying from common sense in that common sense is no longer common and words have little meaning. Today, conservatives were given a philosophical dagger in the back by someone they thought was a philosophical friend on the Supreme Court. This just goes to show that conservatives have been too hopeful and not facing the reality of the evil we face. As of today, this is a dark day for a conservative America and the water is getting warmer.
