Was Obama’s Red Cross Ad Designed to Dodge FEC Rules?
An ad featuring President Obama released last week appears to have been produced with taxpayer funds, allowing President Obama to reach out to television viewers without adhering to strict federal disclosure rules for political ads. Following up on observations made by TownHall.com contributor Ron Meyer, Media Trackers has uncovered more questions than answers about the president’s recent public service announcement (PSA). EPA Regulations Wreak Havoc on Ohio Coal, Electric Companies
The Utility Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) rules imposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are taking a toll on Ohio’s coal industry and are expected to increase citizens’ electricity costs. Utility MACT, a series of bureaucratic regulations created under the Clean Air Act with the support of President Obama and U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), has already caused coal-fired plant closures and layoffs.

Forced Dues Make Ohio Education Association a Powerful Obama Ally
The Ohio Education Association (OEA) has promoted Barack Obama’s campaign with cover features in every issue of its “Ohio Schools” magazine since the start of the school year, and did the same in 2008. OEA claims to represent the interests of all Ohio teachers, but many educators who disagree with OEA’s politics are required by state law to pay hundreds of dollars in dues even if they opt out of the union.

AFSCME Uses Forced Dues to Promote Obama, Pummel Romney
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 8, one of Ohio’s largest public employee unions, has mimicked D.C. union bosses by releasing a steady barrage of pro-Obama, anti-Romney communications through its website. As reported by Media Trackers in July, AFSCME Council 8 pushes liberal politics on its members using money taken from their paychecks.

Obama’s Ohio Attack Dogs
I’m relieved Obama for America is pushing every class warfare chip to the middle of the table. If Americans get a better look at Progressivism’s ugly mug and still vote Democrat in November, the country deserves to go bankrupt! To simplify mockery of their candidate for those of us with apolitical day jobs, Obama for America has assembled “Truth Teams” – Attack Watch in more | Read More »
Sherrod Brown and Barack Obama’s China Envy
When not attacking American companies, President Obama gets downright romantic about the grand things American companies do with the Washington’s guidance. China is frequently a source of envy (see: passenger rail boondoggles), because China’s statist capitalism-lite floats Obama’s boat. As America’s most statist senator, Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is on board for anything involving more government! Sherrod asked President Obama about his plans for a federal | Read More »
Old Guard GOP May Hand Ohio to Obama
As brutal election results reflected, the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) was a scandal-plagued outfit circa 2006. I don’t relish the current ORP leadership fight, but if we don’t want second terms for President Obama and Senator Sherrod Brown we must avoid repeating our mistakes. Party chairman Kevin DeWine’s old-guard ways – combined with his public betrayal of Governor Kasich – make it hard to believe | Read More »
