Desperation has set in at the Ozzie deFaria for Congress campaign- earlier this week, Ozzie deFaria called Republican front runner Karen Harrington a “slut” after one of her supporters told deFaria that she would vote Harrington, and this was not an isolated incident.

This is the Facebook note left on Karen Harrington’s campaign page-

Karen,
I thought I would let the voter in the 23rd district know about a visit I had today from your opponent; DeFazio. As I was walking out of my Davie home, he walked up to me to hand me one of his brochures, and asked if he could speak to me. I replied, I was not interested, and that I was voting for Karen Harrington. He then said, your not interested in the mud slinging she is doing against me? I said, sir your the one doing the mud slinging. he got angry, and said loudly: Karen Harrington is a SLUT! I said, excuse me: Karen Harrington is a slut, that comment is exactly what I am talking about, your the one slinging mud. He got mad and he and the other three people in the SUV, sped off. This man has a problem with anger, and he is not what we need to replace Debbie WassermanSchultz with; On Angry person replacing another and one dirty bad mouthed politician replacing another.-Broward Resident

deFaria has actually been walking the district and visiting voters who have placed a “Harrington for Congress” yard sign in their front lawns, whereby he would attempt to impugn and discredit Harrington. When deFaria encountered resistance to his stump schtick, he would  lose his tempter and storm off.  One Southwest Ranches resident claims to have seen deFaria actually pulling Harrington for Congress yard signs out of the ground.

Harrington’s most recent mailer raises deFaria’s “anger management” issues, stating that he is“UNELECTABLE.”

Questions also remain about deFaria’s highly touted business acumen.  There isn’t much documentation about deFaria’s business dealings subsequent to 2005, and there is reason to believe that even his personal residence is listed under his wife’s name.  A quick property search in Broward County does not identify Ozzie deFaria as a home owner in Weston, Florida,  only his ex-wife Elaine deFaria is listed as a property owner, but at a different address- not at deFaria’s disclosed home address.

In addition, deFaria has had questionable liens placed against him, both domestic and foreign.(Liens) deFaria is now being sued by a campaign vendor for stiffing him on a $23,000 bill. deFaria is dismissing this most recent lawsuit much like he has everything else, including his assault on his ex-wife Elaine in 2005 and the string of domestic violence incidents that led to his arrest in 2006 for Repeat Violence and Battery-(Assaulted Wife)

deFaria was sued Friday in Palm Beach County Circuit Court by Alliance Strategies Group, a Boca Raton political consulting firm. The suit claims deFaria didn’t pay for $23,000 of online fundraising services.-Sun-Sentinel

Mr. deFaria has now paid himself back $125,000 of the $406,000 he loaned his campaign, leaving his campaign with about $36,000 cash-on-hand. Is this a sign that deFaria is waiving the white flag?

deFaria’s blatant lies about Karen Harrington, his recent embarrassing attack on well respected veteran news anchor Michael Putney, questionable business practices, and his ongoing anger management issues have thrust his campaign into oblivion, and his defeat on August 14th in the Republican primary is a mere formality.

According to our source within the Democratic Party, who is also a close associate of Wasserman Schultz, the arrangements have already been made for her to leave DNC  regardless if President Obama wins re-election or not.

This same source believes that Wasserman Schultz will be forced to resign behind closed doors and then stage a press event in which she tells Americans that her job as the DNC chair was a temporary one and that she is moving on with her congressional career.

The National Journal has also picked up on the fact that she is indeed getting the boot from Obama-

 When Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida was tapped last year to lead the Democratic National Committee, it seemed like the latest ascension for a fast-rising star destined for even higher positions. Some stumbles and an apparent falling out of favor with the White House had changed that calculus. Now it looks like it could be changing again. -National Journal

In the same National Journal article it also states that Wasserman Schultz could eventually wind up as Speaker of the House were the Democrats ever to regain control and if former Speaker Pelosi were not to seek the position again.  The Shark Tank first joked about this possibility back on May 3rd when several members of Congress and their staffers divulged that there were whispers coming out from the Democrat side of the aisle pertaining to this.

 Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi could very well regain the helm as Speaker of the House.  But what about the possibility of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz becoming the next Speaker?   -(Source-DWS or Pelosi, The Next Probable Speaker of the U.S. House)

But Obama’s reelection chances are hanging by a thread and Wasserman Schultz’s polarizing demeanor has turned into more of  a liability for the President than an asset.

Wasserman Schultz was recently cancelled from speaking about U.S.-Israeli relations at the Temple Israel Synagogue in North Miami  after the backlash she and the Temple received for shunning the founder of the Republican Jewish Coalition, Mr. Stanley Tate. Tate, who coincidentally endorsed Wasserman Schultz’s Republican opponent, Karen Harrington, was going to address the congregation after Wasserman Schultz spoke, but Temple officials squashed Tate’s plans. (Source-Temple Israel)

The controversy dragged on for a long week, as the Temple was temporarily forced to shut down their phones due to the amount of angry phone calls they received about the controversial speaking engagement. One interesting point about the incident is that Temple Israel’s President Ben Kuehne, who was at the center of this controversy did not run for reelection to the post.  Temple Israel will be installing a newly elected President next month. Tate, who subsequently resigned from the Temple said that he is “not going back until the Rabbi is gone.”

The problem here for ‘DWS’ is that she lobbied the President to pick her as the DNC Chair on then notion that he needed her to shore up his flagging Jewish support.  This bad week of  press for Wasserman Schultz coupled with the now infamous ‘Jew bag-gate’ Facebook incident could very well have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for Democrat power brokers within the Obama Administration.

Back in May our source told the Shark Tank that the relationship between DNC Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz and the Obama Administration was fractured and that the President “does not want her in the DNC anymore”-

 It seems as if the relationship has soured to the point that according to the source, “He does not want her in the DNC anymore.”

Apparently, President Obama had discussions with the DNC Chairwoman regarding her approach, even telling her, “Don’t forget you work for me.”

 The problem that the President has is this- he can’t fire her, at least at this juncture.  If President Obama were to remove Wasserman Schultz from her post he would be weakening his own position, as it would be very hard to find someone that is both in lock-step with his agenda and willing to run cover for him as she has done.

Second, this would be a clear indication to the public that there are real problems within the hierarchy of the Democratic Party.

It’s no secret that Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is one of the most polarizing politicians in  the country. In the sworn affidavit signed by the victim, Mr. Charles Seibold III, Seibold describes how deFaria grabbed his then girlfriend’s arm, Elaine deFaria, Ozzie deFaria’s then wife.

 The Respondent grabbed my girlfriend by the arm and pushed her aside…Police arrived and took pictures of my girlfriends arm-Charles Seibold III (Sworn Affidavit)

Ozzie deFaria was not arrested for striking her, but he was arrested for striking Mr. Seibold, violating an injunction granted against him for striking and, according to Seibold.

Now the Shark Tank has come across the actual Broward Sheriff’s Office Arrest form that Elaine deFaria filed, charging deFaria with (1) count of  Domestic Battery.

The Sheriff’s report states that Ozzie deFaria “intentionally and without permission, grab the victim by her arms and force his way into the victim’s residence.” The report concluded by stating that both Mrs. deFaria and Seibold gave tape-recorded statements and police then took “pictures of a bruise left on the inner left bicep of the victim.” (Mrs. deFaria) Elaine deFaria stated to the Sheriff that the bruise was left by Ozzie deFaria, as a result of him grabbing her.

deFaria has been relentless in his unsubstantiated attacks towards his Republican primary opponent Karen Harrington, and  is trying to convince voters that he is the most electable candidate. Voters are scoffing at the fact that deFaria is hiding his domestic violence past, and believe that he does not represent their true values.

Ask yourselves, is deFaria a viable  Republican candidate for Congress ? We all know what Senator Marco Rubio thinks about him, absolutely nothing.

Last night’s Republican primary congressional debate in Davie between the candidates vying to replace Debbie Wasserman Schultz came and went without any fanfare.

The only candidate not in attendance was Karen Harrington who was unable to attend to due a prior commitment.  During the opening statements, Osvaldo “Ozzie” deFaria was called out by an audience member regarding his claim that he was directly responsible for creating 2000 jobs and $800 million to the economy.

I have created over $800 million to the economy. I’ve created over 2000 private sector jobs - Ozzie deFaria

Just as deFaria finished making this assertion, someone in the audience yelled out,”prove it.”

deFaria was unnerved by this challenge, it forced deFaria to ante up and attempt to prove his claim. deFaria nervously held up a recently mailed political mailer from his campaign that stated the testimony of three of his past business associates.

deFaria said the following as he held up the mailer-

I’ve created over 2000 jobs, $800 million to the economy, and $1.5 billion, don’t take my word for it…-Ozzie deFaria

deFaria simply cited his three past business associates as proof positive that he did do what he said he did. So, we’ll do just as Ozzie asks us to do- we won’t take his word for it.

As you see below, in the actual political mailer, none of these past business associates corroborate deFaria’s jobs and/or economic numbers claims. All three of these past associates merely state that Ozzie is a swell guy and that he has good business skills. deFaria is just regurgitating his own claims.

Heck, I am sure that the other candidates could find three associates from their past who could vouch for whatever claims they needed to make.  But when it comes down to it, deFaria could not back up his own claim, plain and simple.

Is deFaria taking credit for jobs that AT&T created collectively within all of its business departments?  deFaria himself said that he was an employee of the company and actually he managed one of AT&T’s divisions.

How did deFaria add $800 million to the economy? Is he using AT&T’s total or partial sales/earnings numbers as well?

deFaria is basing his entire campaign on his business acumen, and there’s no problem with that- and we are not questioning his success in business.  But if deFaria was so successful in business, why does he have so many public records filed against in during the past seven years, including several legal matters and two judgment lien against him, one domestic and the other foreign?

So again, as Ozzie asked us- don’t take his word for it- we’ll take the word of the Broward County Clerk of the Court.

The Republican congressional candidates vying to oppose Congressman Debbie Wasserman Schultz in November debated each other  in Miami Beach with just weeks remaining before the Republican Primary on August 14th.

In sum, there was wide agreement among all five of the candidates on the issues, but what most noteworthy about the debate can best be described as a gradual meltdown by one of the candidates that culminated with absurd accusations and conduct unbecoming of a congressional debate.

From the start of the debate, Ozzie deFaria called out Joe Kaufman for mentioning his endorsement by Herman Cain.  Cain named both Kaufman and deFaria as part of his “Army of Davids,” but upon learning of deFaria’s criminal arrest record and domestic violence issues, Cain decided to openly endorse Joe Kaufman in the race.  While Kaufman did a decent amount of name dropping  in the debate, Cain has in fact endorsed Joe Kaufman in the race.

deFaria then told Kaufman that his statement was “going to come around and bite him in the ass.”

deFaria was off message again as he went on the attack against Karen Harrington and tried to promote his factually-challenged website that is dedicated to Harrington.  deFaria was then jeered, and someone from the audience called out “talk about your arrest record.” deFaria was clearly uncomfortable and was about to discuss his arrest record when he shut down by the moderator, Marcos Sendon, because his time was up.

deFaria then decided not to answer the next question posed to him, stating, “I am not going to answer the question, I am going to defend my honor.”  Needless to say, deFaria didn’t answer the question, and tried to defend his arrest. deFaria deceptively said that the charges were dropped and  he has never hit a woman. While he may not have hit a woman, that is not directly addressing what he was actually charged with.  He was arrested for assaulting his ex-wife’s boyfriend at the time and for violating an injunction against him.

In the sworn affidavit against him by Charles Seibold III, his ex-wife’s former boyfriend and now husband, Seibold stated that his ex-wife Elaine deFaria told him that deFaria assaulted her.

Adding to deFaria’s follies, deFaria used the word “asshole” during the debate, claiming that he was responding to a heckler.  Using  profanity to a small crowd of about 80- some of them minors under the age of 10- nice job Ozzie.

Kaufman later slammed deFaria in his closing remarks by claiming that deFaria is trying to buy the election. deFaria, as expected, defensively stated that he was “proud” of the money he put into his campaign and was willing to spend it all to defeat Wasserman Schultz.  deFaria has raised $619,00, $406,000 of which is his own money.

Juan Eliel Garcia took a swipe at deFaria’s arrogance in saying that money does will not buy elections, and Harrington went further and said that money couldn’t by character.

All of the candidates were very well versed on the issues and did very well.  Harrington had a solid debate, and Bresso, Garcia and Kaufman turned in very respectable performances as well.

Bresso went into detail about she would change things in Washington, and she agreed with Harrington about simplifying the tax form and ending the practice of baseline budgeting.

Kaufman has markedly improved in the debates, as he displayed more depth on issues beyond terrorism and Israel by going into detail on issues such as the Arizona immigration law and the SCOTUS Obamacare decision.

Ozzie deFaria’s performance was simply embarrassing and reinforced the perception that he is not ready for prime time.

deFaria Arrested 

This past Saturday night in Hollywood, the Florida Democrat Party had their annual  Jefferson-Jackson gala dinner.  I was not planning on going, but my trip to Tampa was cancelled, so I decided to show up to the event and see what Senator Bill Nelson, who was a featured speaker, had to say.

After I arrived, I asked where the media check-in was. One of the Party’s event staffers directed me  to the media riser and seating area. There I ran into a young kid, who happened to be the Deputy Communications Director for the party.  As I introduced myself, he instantly knew who I was and he politely asked me if I was able to get a press pass.

I explained to him that I just decided to attend at the last minute and did previously  request one. He told me that it was not a problem and went off to find me a media credential.  Five minutes later he returned with a press pass for me and we parted ways.

Before the dinner started, I was able to interview former Congressman Alan Grayson, and I had the opportunity to speak to many other Democrat candidates, Obama staffers and operatives, most of whom don’t  like what I write, but respect my work.

So the dinner began and I started the video camera rolling.  I decided to go the restroom, and just as I was about to walk into the dining hall one of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s handlers walked out and was amazed to see me there.  We pleasantly spoke about some past orthopedic injuries we both shared in a past conversation.

I had previously ran into this same staffer in Miami several months ago, and she was wearing a sling after she dislocated her elbow. She asked me about my shoulder and discussed my own multiple shoulder surgeries that required me to wear the same sling she had to wear.

As I got back to the media riser, I noticed my ‘friend’ whisking around the room pointing me out to party staffers. One lady came up to me and asked me if I had credentials, and I showed her the orange press pass that younger gentleman first gave me.  She left. Then the same Deputy Communications Director came back and asked me to step out and have a word with him.

He told me that he had to ask me to leave because I didn’t initially RSVP for the event. Yup, that’s right, they knew who I was, gave me a press pass, then yanked it because Wasserman Schultz asked them to kick me out.  Note that the Debbie’s handler does not lift a finger without her boss’ approval.  He then demanded that I return the press pass to him, which I did, but not after I poked him by asking if I could take a picture of it.  He was not amused.

This was also the case in Miami about two months ago at non-profit event SaveDade, where both Wasserman Schultz and Senator Bill Nelson spoke. The event hosts welcomed me with open arms, and stated that they were big fans of the website.

Just as Wasserman Schultz was about to speak, the same handler tried to do the same thing and boot me from the event. But the organizers of the event did not grant the request, because it was their event, not Wasserman Schultz’.  She then warned Senator Bill Nelson’s entourage who quickly escorted him out the back door of the event, avoiding  the front door he originally entered through.

I attend numerous Marco Rubio, Allen West, Rick Scott and other Republican events, and the Republican events never boot any of the Democrat blogs or actual paid Democrat party trackers.  Just ask Congressman Allen West who has a following of no less than three of these Democrat bloggers and trackers.

There you have it. Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz knows that I have treated her with the utmost respect and have never personally attacked her. This is about issues and ideology, nothing more, nothing less. You know this is true Debbie, as we have discussed this before- have you forgotten?

I caught up with deFaria at a candidate forum in Davie where I took the opportunity to ask him a few questions- questions that simply required a yes or no answer, so I thought.

The entire footage runs eight minutes, so we’ve split the encounter into two videos.

The first allegation I questioned deFaria was his claim that “Harrington owes $190K”- in fact, Harrington’s campaign owes Harrington $190K- Harrington loaned herself that amount in the 2010 election cycle. deFaria was a bit mixed in his response, the mailer states “Karen’s campaign has an additional $190,000 in loans,” but deFaria did correctly state that “her campaign owes” the $190K, yet on his mailer also states “That’s too much debt for a “fiscal conservative.”

So Ozzie, does she owe the $190,000, or does her campaign owe her the $190,000?

deFaria was then asked if he put $273K into his campaign, deFaria responded, “I can afford $273K.” We  asked deFaria that same question again, but deFaria refused to answer.

deFaria cited the doyouknowkaren.com website, a site which is full of unsubstantiated accusations as being “100% factual.” This is the same website that deFaria posted a phony mugshot of yours truly using my 2010 Florida Driver’s License.  There is an active investigation as to how my driver’s license photo was obtained by deFaria or one of his surrogates.(Source-Phony mugshot)

With regards to his jobs creation claims, deFaria simply wants us to take his word for it, or at least that his friends believe he created that many jobs. We’ve been unable to independently verify whether his claims are substantiated.

The second part begins with deFaria dodging the $273K question. Ozzie refused to answer the simple question but then told me that I should visit the FEC website. Well, we did just that. deFaria’s FEC report clearing states that deFaria has injected $273,173 into his campaign this election cycle. Is this not the epitomy of hypocrisy, when he blasts Harrington for loaning her campaign $190,000 in 2010?

So let’s be clear here- deFaria loaned his campaign $273,173 this election cycle, Harrington loaned her campaign a total of $232,783 since 2010.  There’s simply no credible way for deFaria to make hay with this, and for him to refer to Harrington as a ‘big spender’ when he loaned his own campaign more than Harrington did?

In deFaria’s eyes, its not OK for his opponents campaigns to owe money, but its OK for his campaign to do so. Here are the exact FEC numbers for both candidates. Notice how Harrington has only loaned herself $5000, in addition to the $40,000 credit card debt deFaria mentioned. Again, here is the $273,173 that deFaria has put into his campaign, the same amount he refused to answer yes or no, as to whether he did or not. Another point to make is, deFaria was only able to raise $121,441 from donors, the rest was from himself. Compare that with Harrington’s base, and there is simply no comparison.

So why not answer the question?

It got worse for deFaria- he claims that Harrington “embellishes” her small business claims because she only owns a sixth of her business which is divided among family members and partners. deFaria’s could barely keep his emotions under control as I asked him why he would make such a claim.

Finally, I asked deFaria directly whether he still believes the content pertaining to yours truly on his anti-Harrington website is “100% factual” to which deFaria stated, “I don’t really know.”

So is it or is it not 100% factual when you don’t even know everything that is on the website?

***Update below-Embattled Republican congressional candidate Ozzie deFaria, who is best known for the “dog collar”incident is now the focus of a criminal investigation as a result of apparently receiving illegally  information that is only available to current law enforcement officials.

It’s been increasingly alarming to hear about the different Alinskyite tactics that have been used against conservative bloggers and journalists of late. Some of my fellow conservative bloggers have been the target of “Swatting” attacks that have made national news of late, the purpose of which are to terrorize their victims and intimidate them to stop their blogging efforts.

deFaria, who has employed an amateurish campaign staff that has undoubtedly poorly advised him on how to properly do damage control has put up a website about his main opponent in the Republican primary race, Karen Harrington that is nothing less than laughable and libelous. deFaria has been in damage control mode subsequent to the revelation of his 2005 domestic violence issue and his 2006 arrest for repeat violence and battery.

The website contains several misrepresentations of Harrington and even questions her claim to being a small business owner because she only owns part of her family business. This accusation is insulting to all small business owners who have entered into partnerships with their friends and families- no one but deFaria apparently believes that if you only own 1/6 or any fraction of a business then you aren’t really small business owner.

But here’s deFaria’s major no-no that has landed him in hot water- he illegally obtained my Florida driver’s license information and photo and then claimed that it was a ‘mugshot’ of me. Right underneath the picture, deFaria typed my name and the date of a domestic violence issue I had in 2008 in a pathetic attempt to make my license picture look like is was actually a mug shot taken after an arrest.

For the record, back in 2008, my ex-girlfriend and I both filed counter restraining orders on each other for a telephone and email dispute we had. She embellished her story, I embellished mine. The case was dropped two days later. When deFaria posted the ‘mugshot’ I thought to myself that the picture looked eerily familiar-

deFaria is implying that I was arrested for Domestic Violence on 7/10/2008, an outright lie. As a member of the Florida Capitol Police Press Corps, a background check is performed on me and all other members of the press corps every six months in order to renew our identification cards. When deFaria posted the picture, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), who are now actively inquiring into the matter, ran another background check on me. Broward Sheriff’s detectives as well as FDLE and Fort Lauderdale police officers have confirmed that my 2010 Driver’s License picture was illegally accessed and used in deFaria’s attack website.

What does this say about Ozzie deFaria’s character? You be the judge. deFaria has been completely taken off message, and has focused on Karen Harrington, not Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Long before deFaria entered the race, my friends at FreedomWorks warned that they had heard that the Democrats were planting a candidate to take away from Harrington- we still don’t know if deFaria is the plant or not.

deFaria’s reckless actions are not representative of Republicans or the the GOP as a whole. deFaria’s own conduct and actions have made it very clear in this Republican primary race that he lacks the judgment and character for Congress. It would be interesting to hear what Senator John McCain, Senator Richard Burr, Herman Cain, and J.C. Watts, have to say about deFaria’s actions. All of thesemen have either endorsed or express support for deFaria’s congressional campaign

2006 Repeat Violence and Battery Arrest

On July 19, 2006, Osvaldo ‘Ozzie’ deFaria was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office(BSO) on three misdemeanor counts of Violence Injunction Against Repeat, Sex, Dating Violence and Touch or Strike/Battery charges.

According to BSO arrest records, deFaria was arrested after slapping Charles Seibold in the face three times, violating the previously court ordered Injunction against him.

Here is what the arresting deputy’s report read-

2005 Domestic Violence

On November 22, 2005, Osvaldo ‘Ozzie’ deFaria was accused of Domestic Violence by Charles R. Seibold, III, who at the time was the boyfriend of his wife Elaine-the deFaria’s were separated, and in the process of a divorce.

According to Seibold’s sworn and signed affidavit, during the incident that occurred on 11/20/05, Seibold stated that the Respondent(deFaria) “knocked cup out of my hand and then smashed in my face while I was trying to watch his daughter play soccer.” Seibold then stated that deFaria “chased” him “100 yards across field yelling obscenities,” before he was repeatedly “smacked” in the shoulder by defaria, before he “ripped” the sunglasses of Seibold’s face and broke them. (Affidavit)

In the same sworn affidavit, Seibold describes the event that occurred on 7/23/2005 between Ozzie deFaria and his wife at the time, Elaine deFaria.

“On the above date, the Respondent(deFaria) pushed his way into my girlfriend’s house looking for me. The Respondent grabbed my girlfriend by the arm and pushed her aside…Police arrived and took pictures of my girlfriends arm.”- Charles Seibold, III (11/20/2005)

On 6/17/2006, defendant Osvaldo deFaria arrived at 2478 Poinciana Ct to drop off his children a his ex-wife Elaine’s house. At the time defendant deFaria exited his vehicle during an argument that he initiated with Charles Seibold. Defendant deFaria walked into the garage and did actually and intentionally touch or strike Seibold against his will by slapping him in the face three times.

Defendant DeFaria did cause bodily harm to Seibold in the form of scratch marks located on Seibold’s back, this occurred when defendant deFaria was pulling on Seibold’s shirt. Defendant deFaria did intentionally and unlawfully, after having been served with an Injunction for Protection Against Repeat Violence, commit an act of Repeat Violence by committing the act of battery against Seibold. Defendant deFaria also was in violation of the protection order by exiting the vehicle which was in violation of the injunction.-Deputy Michael Gelske

**Update-It seems as if Mr.deFaria has folded under pressure.  His lackluster campaign has taken down my  phony’mugshot’ and replaced it was another more flattering picture of me that was taken when I was a guest on Univision’s Sunday morning political TV show, ‘Al Punto.’ This does not excuse dofus-aria for his shameless attack on me. Police investigators have the screen shots from his original posting, and the self-inflicted damage to his campaign has been done. Several members of Congress and their staffers have reached out to me and offered their LOL critique of Mr.dofus-aria’s pathetic campaign by referring to him as an “Idiot” a “Joke” , one even called him a “Dumbass.”

I think as they do, deFaria may have to consider his chances in this race. Even if he manages to win the Republican primary race on August 14, he will not be receiving the support from the powers that be in a general election-he is toxic. Way to go Ozzie!

Embattled Republican congressional candidate Ozzie deFaria, who is best known for the “dog collar”incident is now the focus of a criminal investigation as a result of apparently receiving illegally  information that is only available to current law enforcement officials.

It’s been increasingly alarming to hear about the different Alinskyite tactics that have been used against conservative bloggers and journalists of late. Some of my fellow conservative bloggers have been the target of “Swatting” attacks that have made national news of late, the purpose of which are to terrorize their victims and intimidate them to stop their blogging efforts.

deFaria, who has employed an amateurish campaign staff that has undoubtedly poorly advised him on how to properly do damage control has put up a website about his main opponent in the Republican primary race, Karen Harrington that is nothing less than laughable and libelous. deFaria has been in damage control mode subsequent to the revelation of his 2005 domestic violence issue and his 2006 arrest for repeat violence and battery.

The website contains several misrepresentations of Harrington and even questions her claim to being a small business owner because she only owns part of her family business. This accusation is insulting to all small business owners who have entered into partnerships with their friends and families- no one but deFaria apparently believes that if you only own 1/6 or any fraction of a business then you aren’t really small business owner.

But here’s deFaria’s major no-no that has landed him in hot water- he illegally obtained my Florida driver’s license information and photo and then claimed that it was a ‘mugshot’ of me. Right underneath the picture, deFaria typed my name and the date of a domestic violence issue I had in 2008 in a pathetic attempt to make my license picture look like is was actually a mug shot taken after an arrest.

For the record, back in 2008, my ex-girlfriend and I both filed counter restraining orders on each other for a telephone and email dispute we had. She embellished her story, I embellished mine. The case was dropped two days later. When deFaria posted the ‘mugshot’ I thought to myself that the picture looked eerily familiar-

deFaria is implying that I was arrested for Domestic Violence on 7/10/2008, an outright lie. As a member of the Florida Capitol Police Press Corps, a background check is performed on me and all other members of the press corps every six months in order to renew our identification cards. When deFaria posted the picture, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), who are now actively inquiring into the matter, ran another background check on me.
