Eric Bolling, despite all of his loud protestations, is on the Trump Train. This comes as no surprise to anybody who has watched Fox News at all for the last 8-9 months. Bolling doesn’t like any narrative that may form which threatens the Trump nomination.

Today, before I even turned the show on, I said to myself, “He’s going to claim Cruz’s win was no big deal and Trump is still going to win and blah blah blah blah blah blah.”

Sure enough that is what happened. But then the conversation got interesting when Eric started talking about the “right” reason to support a candidate, namely Ted Cruz. He thinks supporting Cruz simply to prevent Trump from getting the nomination is not the “right reason” to support him.

Dana Perino was having none of it and explained there are valid reasons for people not wanting Trump to be the nominee. Watch to the end because she also had something additional to say:

When Kimberly reiterates people are only supporting Cruz in the hopes that an open convention would produce another candidate she asked, “Well why isn’t that a good reason? That’s a perfectly good reason.”

That was a direct shot at Bolling and she’s 100% right. There is no “right” or “wrong” reason to support a candidate. Your vote is measured at getting the result you want, not what’s “fair” in the eyes of Donald Trump. Or Eric Bolling for that matter.
