A Nation that Can No Longer Endure

Failure to Recognize the Socialist in our Midst

Only the failure of the American education system to teach the principles and beliefs our nation is founded upon can explain the rampant popularity of a man diametrically opposed to the principles our nation was founded upon. Alas the modern electorate seems unable to grasp the radical shift towards a failed socialist model that Obama will bring about. Ignoring his documented connections to those who advocate abandoning the economic freedoms the United States was built upon and even his own words, Americans seem bent on, perhaps ignorantly, speeding the eventually collapse of the economic prosperity that has been the envy of the world for decades.

The much ballyhooed exchange with the infamous Joe the plumber who isn’t, is only the latest, but perhaps most clearly articulated revelation Obama’s socialist intentions.

“It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too,” Obama responded. “My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Compare the words of Obama to a clear description of socialism found on Wikipedia. “Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating social or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society. Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution which represents the transitional stage between capitalism and communism. Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism by nature concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, and creates an unequal society.”

Americans once feared socialism and communism and derisively viewed the French electorate’s choice of socialist candidates. Today we don’t even recognize the socialist candidate we seem determined to elect.

The end of the supremacy of the United States will not be achieved through war or through terrorist actions. Our neglect during the last decades to teach to our children not only the history of our once great nation, but the principles, beliefs, and values upon which this nation was rightly founded will be the catalyst for ending long enduring prosperity and freedom. When we no longer understand and no longer can articulate why the principles and values of our nation are fundamental to our success we can no longer defend our nation. Left unguarded, the heart of the American experiment is soon to be cut out by our own citizens at the ballot box 232 years after it began in an evening most Americans and the world will celebrate.
