Republicans pride ourselves on being the party of merit, “if you earn it is yours”. Because Republicans believe that what you want can be achieved if you work hard for it, we are big believers in merit and hard work, with the exception of some RINOS. But, the Republican Establishment doesn’t seem to apply those same beliefs to our presidential candidates. The reason I believe that is this: Republicans, seemingly have and tolerate a monarchial system of choosing our candidates. We have an “heir apparent” being chosen the majority of the time as the Republican candidate for President. Both Erick Erickson and Dick Morris have pointed this out. Erickson said in effect, that because George Bush didn’t have a younger Vice President to be his heir, this debacle of a Republican Primary could be traced back to Bush. I agree that George Bush did not leave a heir and that our current situation would have been very different if he had.

The good points of the heir apparent system are obvious. A ready, vetted, candidate is ready to step up and take the reigns. The heir apparent has name recognition, support, and if the President and Vice Presidential duo is any good, the heir receives some credit for past successful policies. The bad points of an heir apparent system are obvious to us now. Because George Bush didn’t leave an heir, in 2008 the Republican Establishment went back to the number two of that election cycle, John McCain. Because Senator McCain was the second place finisher in the 2000 Republican Primary, he was the heir apparent, the chosen candidate. And John McCain was not a very good candidate at all. He was a moderate, he was uninspiring as a speaker, he was distasteful to the Conservatives, and he seemingly gave up before November, all but ceding the election to Barack Obama. But the great argument that was used in to order convince Republican Primary voters to vote for McCain was this: “McCain is electable, he can beat Obama or Hilary Clinton”.

Now, because we Republicans are used to an heir apparent system, here in 2012 we are doing the same thing we did back in 2008. The Republican Establishment is looking for a successor in order to ensure an orderly transition of power, but John McCain’s more conservative political running mate Sarah Palin is not running. So, the Republican Establishment is doing exactly the same thing that they did back in 2008, reaching back and propping up the second placer finisher as the heir apparent, that would be Mitt Romney. The Republican Establishment is making the same mistake they made four years ago. Look very hard at Mitt Romney. What does the establishment use as the argument for Mitt Romney’s candidacy? “Romney is electable, he can beat Obama” That sounds very familiar to what they said about John McCain in 2008. Mitt Romney is a moderate, he is an uninspiring speaker, he is distasteful to Conservatives and, with the exception of the Arizona Tea Party, he is also distasteful to the majority of the Tea Partiers. Romney encouraged Obama to use the individual mandate. Romney throws money at any problem he sees, such as voters not liking him, and he just throws millions into ads. Ordinarily I would applaud that a Republican has that much money, but not this time. Not when Obama will be able to outspend any Republican candidate three to one.

Vast amounts of money will not be what wins the 2012 election. The merit of our candidate, our candidate’s honesty, his sense of responsibility and loyalty to the American Constitution and to God and Country, will be what brings a Republican victory in 2012. I am not going to go with the “heir apparent”, not this time around. We tried going for the “electable” Number Two, second placer finisher, back in 2008, John McCain failed. Mitt Romney is going to fail here in 2012 if he is the nominee, just like John McCain did in 2008. Mitt Romney is John McCain’s heir apparent, the second choice, just like John McCain himself was. Because of that, and the knowledge that that fails when we try it, I am going to take the Republican approach of picking my candidate based upon their individual merit and I am going to go with Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich for the Republican nominee for President in 2012. If they both fail, than I will support Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee even though he will not win the Presidency. If there is a brokered convention I will gladly support the candidate, but I will not willingly repeat the same mistake that the Republican Establishment made in 2008. I will not support Mitt Romney in the Republican Primary, I will not support a man who was the second choice to the second choice, I will not support a man who is the current “heir apparent” with an “it’s my turn” attitude towards running for President.

The Tea Party goes against Occupy Blacksburg in Virginia’s Montgomery County.

In Montgomery County, Virginia, the Board of Supervisors is attempting to create their new budget for the year, which is ordinarily the time they also decide to increase or decrease taxes. Well, this year the School Board is running low on funds and they are requesting that the Board of Supervisors increase property taxes on homes and buildings worth over two-hundred-fifty-thousand dollars. By. Twenty-three. Percent. 23 more cents on every dollar paid on a building. Naturally, the School Board is opposed by the Blacksburg and Christiansburg Tea Partiers and is supported by Occupy Blacksburg.

The School Board’s rational for increasing the taxes is as follows:

The School Board needs money to remain competitive. They need to buy new buses and computers in order to keep the schools up to snuff.

A number of their employees are living in poverty conditions due to low pay.

They had to lay off a number of employees, so they need one million dollars to re-hire them.

Very compelling reasons to choke out small businesses and home owners with outrageous new taxes, right? Well, I didn’t think so either. Especially since Blacksburg ALREADY has very high taxes on businesses. In fact, there is a large shopping plaza that has only two stores in it out of fifteen spaces because the taxes are so high that places like Books A Million can’t afford to pay them!

Also, the building inspectors seem bent on increasing the appraisement of homes around here so they can be taxed. A friend who lives down the street from me recently had her house appraised. Her home needs new shingles, new siding, and a new paint job, but due to the bad economy, she can’t afford it . Yet, in spite of the slightly run down condition of her home, the most recent appraisement raised her homes value from the value it was at when it was in pristine condition four years ago. Why? So that the taxes can be raised on her home, that’s why!

The School Board’s rational for increasing taxes was picked apart by a Republican Board member quite rapidly.

The Board of Supervisors had already given the School Board one point five million dollars to buy new buses and computers LAST YEAR. The School Board spent over seventy percent of it on raises and cash bonus for their employees. No new buses were purchased, and around three hundred thousand was spent on computers out of one point five million.

The “poverty conditions” employees are actually part time workers, not full time members. Requesting over a million in order to increase their wages would be like Burger King increasing their prices to allow the Burger flippers full time salaries.

The employees that were laid off were laid off because their jobs were temporary. Although paid as well as full time employees, their positions were to last one to two years, they were not permanent jobs. The employees were told this when they were hired and in fact they were hired with money taken from Obama’s Stimulus Plan. Meaning that Montgomery County does not nor did it ever provide the revenue AKA tax money to hire those employees.

Even with the primary reasons for this massive tax increase shot down, the School Board and Occupy Blacksburg are still pushing for this massive tax hike. The citizens of Montgomery County cannot afford this enormous tax hike or the massive spending proposed by the School Board. As such, to any of my fellow Redstaters who are living in Montgomery County, I would like to ask you to contact your local members of the Board of Supervisors and ask them to oppose the School Board’s mammoth tax increases and colossal spending plans, if you have not do so already.

Here is the list of Supervisors and their contact information as it appears on the Montgomery County Government website.

http://www.montgomerycountyva.gov/content/1144/100/191/1674.aspx

Please help the hardworking citizens of Montgomery County to stop the massive tax hikes that are in the works.

Thank you for your time.

On Black Friday an OWS member and his friends are trying to plan a boycott of various public stores and supermarkets because of the supposed “greed” of the corporations that own them. In essence, because they, #OWS, do not like the people running your local Wal-Mart, they are going to try and ruin Black Friday for thousands of people. How nice of them… Not.

The list of stores and establishments they want to boycott is as follows.

On Black Friday, Occupy or boycott:

- Abercrombie & Fitch

- Amazon.com (yes, we have to stay away from Amazon, too!)

- AT&T Wireless

- Burlington Coat Factory

- Dick’s Sporting Goods (I was surprised, too!)

- Dollar Tree

- The Home Depot

- Neiman Marcus

- OfficeMax

- Toys R’Us

- Verizon Wireless

- Wal-Mart

via OCCUPY BLACK FRIDAY: BLACKLISTED Retail Stores to Occupy (Boycott) on Black Friday.

So! They are “occupying” some the nicest, cheapest, places to buy nice gifts. On Black Friday. When working class and middles class families will be trying to buy Christmas gifts for their families. But not only will #OWS be ruining the day for working and middle class families, they will be ruining it for pretty much everybody as well. The problems with this latest attempt to grab attention are as follows:

1, Businesses will make less profits, on days when they are already offering sales that lessen their profits.

2, if #OWS succeeds in shutting down an area business for a long enough period, it will be shut down, costing quite a few people their jobs.

3, if businesses are forced to lay off people, then those folks will likely go on unemployment.

4, Tax revenues that the government collects on sales will go down, leading to less revenue so that government will get less money. Meaning that they will just print more money and continue devaluing the dollar.

#OWS probably will not get enough people to shut down even one big businesses via their numbers. So, when they fail to do it that way the #OWS protesters will do what they have been doing: Turn the place into a sewer, or become violent and try and drive people off.

You can check out the list of one hundred stores that #OWS has listed as possible targets here: http://www.stores.org/2011/Top-100-Retailers

Or you can go to the link I was forwarded and check out the guy planning this in his own words. Needless to say, because it is an #OWS blog, the material accessible via this link is both ridiculous and annoying.

Wow. An ENTIRE CARTOON mocking a man for his comments is so much more classy than a “wow” in a sarcastic remark on Twitter, isn’t it?

I would find this funny, but the hypocrisy that the cartoon writer has shown in that comic is just flat out absurd. He got angry with Erick Erickson for a remark on Twitter and he says it wasn’t very classy, and then published an entire cartoon mocking Erick Erickson in order to prove how classy he, the cartoonist himself, is?

Let me say I am a huge Day by Day Cartoon fan, and I check this cartoon out everyday. Nine days out of ten it’s funny. When it’s focusing on Democrats and their mistakes or policies it’s funny. This wasn’t funny. Day by Day Cartoon is supposed to be a conservative cartoon that pokes fun of Democrats politics and Democrat Policies, not lambastes other Republicans for not liking the cartoonist’s chosen candidate.

President Obama is telling Israel that they need to withdraw and pull back to the borders they had in 1967 in order to allow the Palestinians to build their own nation. Israel can’t do that. Those borders, according to the Israelis, cannot be defended. Obama says that Israel is allowed to defend itself and that their right to defend themselves is very important, how kind of him to give people the right to protect themselves from their enemy. Obama says that Hamas would be difficult to reason with because they don’t recognize Israel’s right to exist. How about this: you shouldn’t even try and reason with them. They are terrorists. Islamic Extremists. Murderers.

What is wrong with Obama? He continually slights our allies, Britain, and Israel, in order to appease the enemy! I am shocked that Israel even considers itself our ally today. Obama has slighted Israel’s Prime Minister by leaving him hanging at state dinners and events, he has insulted Israel by voicing his sympathy for the Muslim’s that hate Israel, and now he tries to request that Israel withdraw? And that Israel negotiate with terrorists? Or people who have supported terrorists? That is beyond disgusting, beyond appalling, it is sick of Obama to even suggest this.

I can only pray that at the end of all this, Israel is still our ally. Obama has slighted them before and he is being insulting now. Our most steadfast ally in the Middle East may not be our ally for long, although I hope that the people of Israel can forgive our fool of a president this latest slight.

Some or most of you have seen this before, since I did not find it on Redstate I found it over on Inflation. So here it is.

Kimberly King, A disabled woman with a spinal cord injury went to the Town Hall in Alhambra on the 11th, she was right in front of the barricade where Congressmen Adam Schiff was speaking. After a while she needed to use the restroom, and stood up using her walker for aid and then went to the restroom, her husband remained behind. When she returned a group of Obamacare women where in front of her seat, her husband asked them to let his wife sit back down, they ignored him, they told the disabled Kimberly to go and sit with all of the other disabled people. Kimberly was having difficulty standing anymore due to her spinal cord and told them that she needed to gett to her chair right then, they would not move for her. Her husband screamed at the woman to get out of Kimberly’s way, she refused saying that she didn’t have to go anywhere. Kimberly couldn’t stand anymore and shoved one woman aside with her walker and tried to get into her seat, the woman stomped on Kimberly;s foot, causing her to scream in pain and collapse to the floor. The woman laughed at Kimberly and began mocking her by saying that Kimberly was faking it. Kimberly, crying now said and I quote from the article: “You want everyone taken care of, and you’re so concerned about other’s well being, but you were more than happy to let me fall on the concrete and than step on me.” The group of woman surrounded Kimberly, tried to stare her down and attempted to knock her sign off of her walker. The Police did nothing.

Nice People eh?

Here are a few things I've been working on to try and get people to go Republican, and to get them interested in Republicans Issues.

Ok, anybody who has ever tried to convince a Obama supporter to listen to Republican viewpoints knows that it is darn near impossible to do, so you can go head-on, and keep trying, or you can be clever about it, you might have a job you have to do all day, you could be too busy to give your all to this, so here are a few easy things to do to try and get people on the right track. Say your jogging, and someone jogs up next to you and begans to chat, the weather, the local news and ETC, then they get on to politics, be careful, they may just be trying to make small talk, but they are also trying to find out where you stand on such things.

Tread carefully, make it sound like you are a casual Republican or an independent, Democrats have brainwashed people so much that most young Democrats, if they found out you are Republican, will scream and pull out an Obama sticker and wave it like a cross at you, you evil Vampire… errr I mean Republican. Anyway, talk casually about such things, if they are interested in your viewpoint, and you don’t have time to relate it to them, suggest they go to soft-Republcain sites, or moderate sites like FOX news, if they are very interested, tell them to go onto youtube and look up Machosauceproduction or Pajamasmedia, both are mostly Republican, and both can make a point with humor. You see, if someone is funny, and tasteful in there jokes, then even if they don’t agree with PJTV or Machosauce, they will remember there jokes, the fact that those people made them laugh, Bill Cosby is a good example of this. He makes points with humor and intelligance and alomst everybody listens to him

This is also useful for getting friends and neighbors who are independents interested in Republicans.

These are useful for a Republican who does not have the time to try and break through the massive amount of crap the Democrats pound into peoples skulls, as they are very light attempts at coaxing someone onto the right path, its almost tricking someone into looking up Republican stuff, but, unlike, Democrats, its not indoctrination.
