Poor Jake Tapper. The guy is one of the hardest-working reporters out there this election season, and how does he get thanked for his efforts?
With comments like this one:
When are you going to go after McCain’s lies in his new 2 new ads, and the other lies released in his previous ads? Or every other minor statement that McCain makes, or his questionable donors like from a Palestinian named Abdullah?? You seem to cover every detail of Obama’s ads and statements very well. Shouldnt we expect better of McCain? Or are journalists just going to throw their hands back and say that this election is about Obama? What about my brothers in Iraq and Afghanistan? What about healthcare? What about education?
No. Everyone wants to hear themselves opine and analyze Obama’s candidacy and the horse race and not McCain positions, and the only foreign policy issue they’ve managed to discuss at length was not even a discussion but just a bunch of commentators who wanted to hear themselves blabber about their new unfounded theories of a new cold war in only less than a week since the Georgia conflict began.
McCain’s campaign says that the candidate does not speak for it. Why is that not a big issue? With all the chance of serious corruption, isnt it important to inform voters of this? All I hear from every newspaper, or talking head, “i dont think mccain approved of this”. Excuse me, but isnt he running for president? Does it not worry anyone else that McCain has a short attention span and memory that the last campaign opinion or analysis he takes is the last one he hears?
First you, Howard Fineman, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Matthews, the entire Fox News Network, and most of the punditry’s focus on McCain’s errors is dwarfed by their discussion of Obama’s errors (some of which aren’t necessarily errors).
And let’s not forget the double standards. and the myth that the media gives more favorable coverage to Obama than mccain, where the study that even bill oreilly praised in 2006 showed that even though Obama receives more coverage that it was due to the extended primary, and that it is significantly more negative than mccain’s.
Why isnt it important to expect better of McCain as well?
Some of us have actual AMERICAN concerns, and they’re not being discussed accurately or enough in the media.
F you jake tapper, you may be one of the ones responsible for my brother’s death.
Betcha that commenter describes him/herself as mainstream, objective, independent, and not at all psychotic.
Ah, mistaken self-perceptions!
