CNN: Racism is the *only* reason you could possibly have to *not* vote for Obama

CNN's Jack Cafferty: Talking Points Regurgitator Extraordinaire

Tuesday night, CNN “analyst” Jack Cafferty wrote the following on the news organization’s Political Ticker blog:

Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it’s one that nobody’s talking about.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn’t be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn’t make sense…unless it’s race.

Time magazine’s Michael Grunwald says race is the elephant in the room. He says Barack Obama needs to tread lightly as he fights back against the McCain-Palin campaign attacks.

Emphasis added. What a great job of regurgitating, without question or comment, the Obama campaign’s talking points.

First of all, “the McCain-Palin campaign attacks,” which are apparently the only negative messages being broadcast in a race in which the Democrat’s supporters are attempting to cast their candidate as “post-partisan” and his opponents as “old politics Washington insiders.” Story after story tells of supporters asking Obama at campaign stops how he is going to fight back against Republican “smears”; unfortunately for them, according to an actual research organization, the Wisconsin Advertising Project, “77% of ads from the Democratic nominee [since the Republican convention have been] negative, compared to 56% of McCain’s spots.”

Second, as the election nears, attempts to shame the American people into voting for Barack Obama by directly accusing them of racism if they do not are becoming more prevalent and more shrill, notwithstanding Cafferty’s laughable claim that race is the one issue “that nobody is talking about.”

As Allahpundit wrote at Hot Air:

Obama may have run as a post-racial candidate in the Democratic primaries, but he has shown a completely different side in the general election.  Ever since winning the nomination, Obama and his campaign surrogates (and the media) have accused Republicans of racism for their opposition to The One.  It has been a constant theme for Team Obama, even though they cannot produce a single shred of evidence in support of this smear campaign.

In their current desperation, the Left – including Cafferty and so many of his media colleagues – has long since abandoned even the most basic pretense of reporting on this campaign in terms of issues and events, instead choosing to reinforce Obama talking points and to do whatever they can – whether that be smearing Sarah Palin or accusing the American populace of being racists – to get the candidate they favor elected.

While logic is a foreign concept to Democrats, even a simple application of Logic 101 would reveal that the those who will not vote for Obama because he may be part black are all moderate/conservative Democrats and independents.

In that only Liberals suffer from overidding self guilt,(a result of having no core moral values), which controls all things in their lives inclusive of politics, only Liberals can be shamed into voting for arguably the least qualified POTUS candidate in the history of the Country, by being accused of racism.

Racist Democrats and independents can’t be shamed. When they go in the booth it will be bye bye ‘bama.

Now, I say thankfully because I really don’t care why someone doesn’t vote for Mr Empty Suit just as long as they don’t.

That is the main reason to oppose him.

Cook County to death. If Todd get his way their will be a $100.00 County Vehicle Sticker! All to hire his friends and Relatives.

        • TomOConnor

Taxed to death is an understatement.

License and Title for two vehicles? $248

The Cook County, Illinois tax on cigarettes has doubled to $2 a pack, giving the city of Chicago the highest cigarette tax in the nation. County, city, state, and federal taxes on cigarettes now total $4.05 a pack in Chicago.

Well, since obama has said those who are white that do not agree with him are racist, and since everytime he gets behind in the polls he uses the race card. I guess it must be true. I am a white racist that will never vote for a black power marxist, socialist racist fraud. Guess that makes me just as good as obama. Free at Last! Free at Last!

of objectivity, and is actively and vigorously campaigning for Obama. Heck the Washington Post criticized McCain’s “Advice” ad (tying Obama to former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines) because it relied solely upon a report by . . . the Washington Post. There is, it seems, no limit to their perfidy in covering this election.

On the bright side, should Obama be defeated, the Old Media shall also have been dealt a mighty blow, perhaps sealing their fate.

Not that the process isn’t already well advanced: The New York Times‘ real estate holdings boast a higher value than their total stockholders equity. In other words, the company owns valuable property, but its stock sells for LESS than that demonstrable value – it means the newspaper is already viewed as a negative asset by investors.

I’m voting against Obama because I think his policy for Iraq is wrong therefore I must be a racist.

I’m voting against Obama because I think he will appoint the wrong judges to the courts especially the US Supreme Court therefore I’m racist.

I’m voting against Obama because his tax policy is crazy therefore I’m racist.

I’m voting against Obama because I think he’s going to open the border and allow a bunch of illegal aliens in and he will give amensty to illegal aliens now therefore I’m a double racist.

I’m voting against Obama because he will increase federal spending by trillions of dollars per year therefore I’m racist.

Now if this is racist than I’m proud of it.

The fact that the people who claim that we’re racist shows just how stupid they are.

    1. As a black conservative, I am tried of every black American I run into assuming that just because I am black, I am for Barry Obama, I am a conservative! If you are merely voting for someone because they are black, white or purple you’re a fool! We’ve made great progress in this country regarding the race issue and the Messiah is willing to destroy that progress just to win an election. Don’t tell me this angry community activist puts his country first and Sir, I do question your patriotism! Finally, Barry is half white and half Kenyan; I fail to see how that makes him a true black American.

…why not to vote for Barack Obama:

    He’s a Radical Socialist

    He’s WAY too far Left

    His relationship with George Soros/Moveon

    He’s a pandering liar

    He’s a “plausible deniability” cheat

    He’s a divider, not a uniter

His underhaded dirtiness and slander through surrogates is bad enough, but then he has to try to look benevolent by saying he hasn’t uttered the demonizing words.

He’s more interested in Political Power than serving the citizenry, while pretending to be civic minded.

He keeps company with despicable men

    His leadership qualities are lacking

His attention to and use of Pathos as a manipulation tool in his rhetoric is alarming

    He’s a talker, not a doer

I’m concerned that his foriegn policy will be designed to misuse America in his Global Poverty Act, and leave America open to threats by his reactionary nature.

His TAX ideas are pandering, robinhood, pie-in-the-sky nonsense that will destroy growth from the private sector, destroy jobs, destroy markets, and bury the State in impossible tax and welfare burdens. Did I say he’s a socialist?

He’s a bigtime grifter of Earmarks for friends who appear to have a quid pro quo realitionship with him

Oh, and I don’t trust him.

    Okay, I’ll stop…but I’m pretty sure that Jack Cafferty is a dumba@#.

CNN is a joke. No one believes CNN is a bona fide news organization now anyway. To suggest that the reason why Obama is lagging in polls is only racism is ludicrous.

However, it can’t be denied that a lot of people won’t vote for a black man in this country. Doesn’t mean that our country is racist, on the whole – but there are plenty of those folks out there. Heck, I know a few of them.

  • Husker

Cafferty was Olbermann, before Olbermann was Olbermann.

Cafferty’s age goes to show you how long liberal bias has been in the media.

  • DavidS1787

How dare you call People who vote for John McCain a racist!

Jack Cafferty The Reason I won’t vote for Obama is not because he is black .

It’s about Obama’s Tax and spend Economic Program! Just imagine all the critical programs he will have to cut to pass on his wish list!

If Obama gets elected we may face an economic depression with his tax increases because they will kill the economy . Jobs here now will go overseas to make stuff cheaper.

Something everyone needs to be aware of.

    • DavidS1787

We will all be introuble in cook county.

More tax increases will make Businesses move to neighboring counties causing, Todd to raise the property taxes at a high rate to make up for the loss in business revenue.
