Jesus Obama picks Pontius Pilate to head the DNC

Virginia\'s Governor to take the helm as the DNC sails toward irrelevance

“Jesus was a Community Organizer; Pontius Pilate was a Governor.”

Such was the catchphrase adopted by many supporters of Barack Obama, the former community organizer (who admitted he has no idea what a “community organizer” even does), in their attempt to prove that he was a more appropriate choice for an entirely different position than the more qualified Gov. Sarah Palin, whose selection by John McCain for a completely different job than that which Obama was pursuing apparently scared the bejeezus out of the Democrat and his supporters.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) said it on the House floor, Obama supporters put it on buttons and bumper stickers, and two-bit bloggers claimed Palin’s quips about Obama’s community organizing background were attacks on the Messiah HimselfObamaeric (doubtless the first time they’ve ever seen fit to actually defend Jesus Christ, who has had quite a time of it at the hands of left-wingers for decades now).

Now, with his pick of Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine to head up the Democratic National Committee, the Obamessiah has evidently decided to join forces with an east coast Pontius Pilate who, perhaps, washed his hands of sin by being a Democrat and voting for Obama (it certainly wasn’t accomplished by not running for the same office as the president-elect, as Gov. Palin also ran for a different position).

Somehow I doubt that included in the hue and cry over the Kaine pick will be complaints that an evil Governor like he who allowed Jesus to be sentenced to death was selected to head up the Democratic apparatus.

Of course, the Kaine pick isn’t all that important anyway — in fact, as I and other have argued (particularly via Twitter) lately, the DNC is sliding further into irrelevance, cast under the weighty shadow of the Obamadministration and its state of perpetual campaigning.

Patrick Ruffini sees the Kaine pick as a sign that Obama will file with the FEC for 2012 up to two years early; personally, I don’t see why he’d bother, considering he (and campaign manager David Plouffe) are taking the campaign with them into the White House (and are still emailing me an average of twice a week with requests for money).

Tim Kaine, a Democratic Pontius Pilate to Obama’s Jesus, may be running the DNC, but the DNC isn’t running the Democratic Party any more. From earlier this year into the foreseeable future, “Obama for America” is running the Democratic Party — complete with their list of 10m email addresses, 3m cell phone numbers, contrived “office of the President-Elect,” and faux Presidential seal.

Get ready for irrelevance, DNC. It could last a while.

Shadow Party

There’s little doubt to me that this has been a coup d etat of the leftists. Not only of the DNC, but also of our country. The gamble here is whether the Obama-machine win state races and House races. With the world’s spotlight on him, there’s no way he or his Shadow Party can live up to the hype.

Kaine isn't a liberal -- he's an, umm, whatever gets him elected

It’s hard to call Tim Kaine a leftist. He’s a staunch Roman Catholic who is against abortion but does not favor the overturn of Roe v Wade. He’s against capital punishment but as governor of Virginia has presided over numerous executions. He finally, in 2006, banned smoking in VA state buildings, presumably once Philip Morris moved enough jobs out of Richmond to no longer be a big factor.

Looking back at his record as governor, as mayor of Richmond, and as a Richmond city councilman (where I first knew him), I’m hard pressed to tell you what he stands for, other than getting himself elected. I’ll grant you, he appears to be good at that.

To me, he’s a great example of one of those moderates that actually stand for nothing because they seem to be for everything.

1. Moisten finger in mouth.

2. Stick finger in air to gauge actual will of the people.

3. Make decision based on whatever George Soros and The NY Times say to do for “in the moment” politics of stealing a nation and ignoring even an overwhelming majority on any and all issues.

I’d say that’s snarky enough, eh ?

[Odd how you found religious topics much less itchy-tichy when you were helping to mock them yourself, dan@netcom.com. - Feel like getting an apology out for overestimating your intelligence and underestimating ours? - Moe Lane]

How is that not profane, Jeff?
Did you think about it, before you wrote it?

Virginian weighing in on Kaine

chrisie Tuesday, January 6th at 5:47AM EST (link)

Kaine is getting some negative press here in Virginia for his decision to divide his time between the DNC and governing our state which is in financial turmoil now.

I always thought he was a tool but this solidifies it. He only cares about himself, not the citizens of Virginia to take another job when he still has two years left as governor.

On a positive note, he’ll bring his ineffectualness to the DNC. As you said, he’ll help the DNC sail toward irrelevance. Unfortunately, Virginians will be stuck with him for the next two years.

This is why VA should not have a one-term limit

He has no incentive to do the right thing and either dedicate himself to the governorship or resign to take the DNC position.
