Roland Burris’s reelection website is live, and the first thing that jumps out at the viewer is his lengthy list of accomplishments (see right; click here for full screencap).
In all fairness, I’ve got to give Senator Burris full credit for having the most honest accomplishments section of a campaign website that I’ve ever seen. Pity it (likely) won’t last.
Whatever changes on the page, though, we’ve now got a baseline from which to measure the changing story that seems to be a hallmark of Mr. Burris’s senate career thus far.

On that note, Obama needs to hit the campaign trail again.
Uma Richie Tuesday, March 3rd at 4:25PM EST (link)The UN Secretary General seat is up again at the end of 2011. I think Obama should campaign for the position. After all, to a liberal, the job is like being president of the world, and he is the type to keep his eye on the next step up.
So Barry, from now on, no recordable positions. No executive orders. No signing legislation (don’t worry 99% of the time Bills don’t actually need your signature to become a law). Just go on a world tour and wow ‘em like you did last summer. And BTW, stop flipping off the British — They can veto your nomination.

Especially amusing are the two pictures of David Brooks on that page.

Swamp_Yankee Tuesday, March 3rd at 2:52PM EST (link)… As long as he’s around, its a standing black eye for the Democrats. Plus, he’s probably the ony Democrat in Illinois that can be beaten in 2010.

That image is wrong
chiguy76 Tuesday, March 3rd at 5:44PM EST (link)When you click on Burris’ accomplishments, there’s a “Click here to learn more” link that’s been photoshop-ed out in the image above. Not the best site design, but be honest about the photo.
I went to the site earlier in the day, navigated to the accomplishments page,
6eorge Jetson Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:23PM EST (link)and it the accomplishments page was an empty list, exactly as pictured above.
I’m sure the designer had an “oh, crap” moment. If you navigate to the page as of 6:19 PM EST, you’ll see a list of six items, and not the “Click here to learn more” link you describe.
Thank you for leaving an artifact proving it has changed throughout the day.
I went their earlier too and it was blank.
barry915barry Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:27PM EST (link)Now, at 8:25 CST it has those 6 items, plus a “next” (page) that has 5 more.
To be fair, Burris can claim two major beneficial accomplishments
6eorge Jetson Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:49PM EST (link)Nominee, Best Leading Actor for a Vivid Example of Big Govt Corruption
for his since retracted testimony in regards to contact w/ Blago’s fund raising brother.
(winner: Blago)
Nominee, Best Supporting Actor for a Vivid Example of Big Govt Corruption
for accepting his Senatorial appointment from the indicted Blago.
(winner: Daschle)
While non-lethal body blows to the Big Government cause, after the accumulation of these vivid examples have to start becoming a part of the American subconcious. In a perverse and unintentional way, I believe Burris has served America well.
