Silly Barack: Battles with Darth Cheney Aren’t for Kids
The Clueless President Tries to Pick a Fight With Dick Cheney Over Counterterrorism Policy
What a dumb move, if I may say so myself.
On the Bush GWOT policies, and Cheney’s criticism of Obama’s rush to close GITMO as being hasty, un-thought-out, and naive, Obama had this to say on 60 Minutes Sunday night:
How many terrorists have actually been brought to justice under the philosophy that is being promoted by Vice President Cheney?
It hasn’t made us safer. What it has been is a great advertisement for anti-American sentiment.
Really, Mr. Obama?
First, I’d appreciate your pointing out the attacks we’ve suffered since 9/11, since we’re “no safer” than we were the day 4,000 people were murdered by Islamist suicide killers on American soil.
Second, how many terrorists have been “brought to justice?” Well, I suppose that depends on how you define “justice.” How about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? How about the other terrorist killers whom you and your ilk have agitated to have released from GITMO and other prisons around the world?
Have they avoided “justice” — and, if so, has it been because they’ve been imprisoned and unable to commit more terrorist attacks, or is it because they haven’t worked their way up the tribunal system to a final sentencing?
If the latter, please allow me to remind you which portion of America is agitating to have these terrorists released, their trials hung, their appeals filed and granted, and the process of their receiving “justice” delayed or indefinitely postponed in any other way possible (here’s a hint: it’s your side of the political spectrum and members of your political party that are doing that, Mr. Obama — not ours, and certainly not Mr. Cheney’s).
Personally, I look at the meting out of “justice” for these terrorist killers as being the closest equivalent to a fiery death on the battlefield, where a significant number of would-be killers of Americans have met their end thanks to the military’s execution of the Bush/Cheney policy of taking the fight to the terrorists. It’s certainly netted more cold terrorist bodies and prevented more killings than a week of negotiating man-hours has done in this conflict — yet that’s the tired, old, liberal policy Mr. Obama wants America to return to in dealing with its homicidally suicidal enemies. Good call, that.
Seriously, Mr. Obama: bring back the TelePrompTer. You obviously can’t function — nor pick your battles — without it.
