This pretty well removes any doubt that the repetitive snubs and insults to representatives of the UK could be accidental and the result of ignorance. It is looking more and more as though Obama is deliberately attempting to drive a wedge between the US and the UK, while he cozies up to more worthy partners

i think obama is a nitwit, a bumbler, a naif, a fool, a deceiver, an opportunist, a charlatan, an arrogant blowhard, and the most dangerous man in america in at least a century (more dangerous than fdr because fdr at least understood certain fundamentals of handling foreign policy and protecting national security, even if he was wrong about things like the british empire and the internal threat of communist spies).

That great statement was uttered by a US official during the 1908 (?) Olympics in London. The American team did not dip the Stars and Stripes to the King of England. When newspaper reporters asked US team officials why, that’s how one of them responded.

IIRC, the impetus for that act of defiance came from Irish-American athletes on the US team. Some went up to the flag bearer before the opening ceremonies and told him that, if the US flag dipped in front of the King, the flag-bearer would be in the hospital by nightfall.

That tradition has stood the test of time…but I fear it won’t survive The One’s administration.
