Panicking Democrats Seek Reassurance That Nobody Could *Possibly* Disagree With Them Legitimately

With well over half of America firmly in opposition to the Obama/Kennedy/Pelosi health overhaul plan, Democrats are grasping at anything they can possibly find to reassure themselves that they are still both right and representative of the “collective American will” on this and myriad other issues.

To that end, Jen O’Malley Dillon, executive director of the Democratic National Committee, sent an email to supporters this afternoon that is virtually dripping with desperation. Called “5 Facts About the Anti-Reform Mobs,” Dillon’s email is a frantic effort to reassure the shrinking, increasingly-fringe minority that actually support’s the President’s debt-growing and government-expanding programs that, against all evidence, they are the true majority on this issue and the opponents of their increasingly-unpopular proposals are an angry, paid, fringe “mob.”

Dillon wrote:

There’s been a lot of media coverage about organized mobs intimidating lawmakers, disrupting town halls, and silencing real discussion about the need for real health insurance reform.

The truth is, it’s a sham. These “grassroots protests” are being organized and largely paid for by Washington special interests and insurance companies who are desperate to block reform. They’re trying to use lies and fear to break the President and his agenda for change.

Health insurance reform is about our lives, our jobs, and our families — we can’t let distortions and intimidation get in the way. We need to expose these outrageous tactics, and we’re counting on you to help. Can you read these “5 facts about the anti-reform mobs,” then pass them along to your friends and family?

5 facts about the anti-reform mobs

1. These disruptions are being funded and organized by out-of-district special-interest groups and insurance companies who fear that health insurance reform could help Americans, but hurt their bottom line. A group run by the same folks who made the “Swiftboat” ads against John Kerry is compiling a list of congressional events in August to disrupt. An insurance company coalition has stationed employees in 30 states to track where local lawmakers hold town-hall meetings.

2. People are scared because they are being fed frightening lies. These crowds are being riled up by anti-reform lies being spread by industry front groups that invent smears to tarnish the President’s plan and scare voters. But as the President has repeatedly said, health insurance reform will create more health care choices for the American people, not reduce them. If you like your insurance or your doctor, you can keep them, and there is no “government takeover” in any part of any plan supported by the President or Congress.

3. Their actions are getting more extreme. Texas protesters brought signs displaying a tombstone for Rep. Lloyd Doggett and using the “SS” symbol to compare President Obama’s policies to Nazism. Maryland Rep. Frank Kratovil was hanged in effigy outside his district office. Rep. Tim Bishop of New York had to be escorted to his car by police after an angry few disrupted his town hall meeting — and more examples like this come in every day. And they have gone beyond just trying to derail the President’s health insurance reform plans, they are trying to “break” the President himself and ruin his Presidency.

4. Their goal is to disrupt and shut down legitimate conversation. Protesters have routinely shouted down representatives trying to engage in constructive dialogue with voters, and done everything they can to intimidate and silence regular people who just want more information. One attack group has even published a manual instructing protesters to “stand up and shout” and try to “rattle” lawmakers to prevent them from talking peacefully with their constituents.

5. Republican leadership is irresponsibly cheering on the thuggish crowds. Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner issued a statement applauding and promoting a video of the disruptions and looking forward to “a long, hot August for Democrats in Congress.”

It’s time to expose this charade, before it gets more dangerous. Please send these facts to everyone you know. You can also post them on your website, blog, or Facebook page.

Now, more than ever, we need to stand strong together and defend the truth.

Thanks,

Jen

Jen O’Malley Dillon
Executive Director
Democratic National Committee

This is an incredibly obvious sign that Democrats are growing increasingly distraught over their failure to influence public opinion and their inability to manufacture enough outrage, coordinated protest, and mob activity to outdo real Americans’ efforts to communicate with their representatives.

The irony is as delicious as the desperation. The Democratic Party is being led by a President whose sole work experience consists of riling up the masses and provoking mob activity for the purpose of influencing leaders and legislation.

Obama has been the Democrats’ most vocal proponent of mob tactics since Cindy Sheehan disappeared from the public scene two years ago, making such claims and declarations as “If [Republicans] bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun” and “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry. I’m angry,” and issuing such instructions to his foot soldiers as, “Argue with [Obama opponents] and get in their faces!“.

Now, when the American public has turned against both the President and his government-growing policy, the notions that organizing, dissenting, and speaking freely are good things have been thrown out with the bath water by the Community Organizer president and his Democratic National Committee. Instead, those who are legitimately concerned about the policies being put forward by this President are paid servants of evil industry and members of a mindless, violent “mob” — and Republicans’ refusal to participate in the Democrats’ attempt to shut down dissent and portray the American people as unable to take a pro-market, anti-Obama position without being paid to do so makes them complicit in “stirring up the mob.”

This won’t be the last time a Democratic official has to reach out to the DNC’s shrinking base of followers in a dishonest effort to reassure them of their majority status and their opponents’ lobbyist-lined pockets. The fact is, though, the only folks stirring up mobs here are Democrats like Obama and Dillon — and the more their manufactured mobs fail to shout down and silence regular Americans, the louder their screams will become.

It's a mad, mad, mad world

It was this President who, rather than invite discussion and a bipartisan approach to problem solving, cut off all discussion except with those who agreed with him when he simply said, “I Won.”

It was the Chief of Staff of this Administration that famously said that they would be certain not to let any crisis “go to waste.”

It is the current Democrat party leadership, in the White House, the Senate, and the House, that has tried to push the most complex, far-reaching legislation through at warp speed. They shut the doors against Republican involvement. They have insisted that the legislation is just too important to take time to read, much less to deliberate over. And now they have the unmitigated gall to whine that “Anti-Reform Mobs” don’t want to allow for “real discussion!”

The whacked-out nutjobs are indeed in charge of the asylum.

If the Democrat Socialists had managed to ram this through before recess, we’d be in a much different situation.

Although we’re (as Americans, not one side or the other… All Of Us) not out of the woods yet, there is a glimmer of hope to stymie this whole potential debacle.
The zombie (D) footsoldiers don’t even know what they are allowing the D.S. party do to them. Soundbites and bumperstickers do not make one informed, I’m afraid.

If there was ever a time in our modern history when I believed our country was in danger of radical take over it is now. The power of a staged crisis and non-disclosure. The crisis is the postmodernist secular humanist socialists in Washington and in our state governments.

Paid to protest?

stevor Thursday, August 6th at 11:52AM EDT (link)

Do you mean that I ought to have been PAID for protesting against Obummer? By whom? How do I contact them for payment for past protests?

Oh, I get it, it’s only lobbyists, the ones that were supposed to be kept out of the Whitehouse but that are now part of the Whitehouse cabinet that get paid.

1. Where are my astroturf dollars? Should I check my freezer?
2. Unlike your words, the BILL actually doesn’t increase choices, restricts doctors, restricts insurance, will delay or deny care, maybe you should read it.
3.More extreme? Of course, you were complaining when Prez Bush was portrayed as Hitler or hung in effigy, right?
4.The goal is actually to have a conversation and be told the truth. Ooops, some republicans read alinsky, oh no.
5. A long hot summer would actually be nice due to the global cooling we are having.

A warning about Dem tactics

Kyle-MI Wednesday, August 5th at 6:16PM EDT (link)

The scary part of this is that Democrats always falsely accuse Republicans of tactics that they (the Democrats) will use in the future. Remember the politics of personal destruction? The DNC is giving us their future playbook. Be prepared.

Well, They're Not Claiming "Violence" and "Murder" Yet...

Irony, thy name is DNC

GT350 Wednesday, August 5th at 6:16PM EDT (link)

This is just too rich. After eight years of BDS antics, the Democrats are now accusing the Right of being an angry mob? Don’t they remember the vilification of Chimpy McBushitler in the mainstream press? The hysterical protests, like spraying blood on Easter parishioners to protest the Iraq War? Applauding a trashy Bush assasination flick at the Cannes film festival? Wow, a bunch of Senior Citizens show up at a town hall, and now it’s a “Mob”?

“Dissent is Patriotic” my a@@.

Moreover, I can’t believe Babs Boxer thinks there’s something fishy about “well-dressed protestors”. As I recall, her colleage Pelosi was complaining in ‘06 about the smelly “Code Pink” types who had camped out in front of her PacHeights SF mansion. I guess she longs for the dirty patchouli-smelling hippies who protested for 8 years straight during the Bush era.

Now who is really the one telling the lies...?

She can’t back up a single one of those claims.

Is she trying to claim that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are behind the town hall protests? Which insurance companies is she speaking of doing all this “disrupting”.
The woman is really slinging it.

Dangerous…? Oh hoh please. This is the same tactic they used during the campaign when they claimed people were threatening Obama’s life at McCain rallies.
It ain’t going to work this time.
Their credibility is like the deck of the Titantic. The water is beginning to lap over the bow. They can keep playing their violins to keep people calm but that ship will sink.
This is so much fun watching the fear in their eyes knowing that the press can’t protect them from their lies anymore.
They are whining and crying and peeing in their pants and I love it.

Just one, to start. One.

Dillon said, “These ‘grassroots protests’ are being organized and largely paid for by Washington special interests and insurance companies who are desperate to block reform.”

Demand the news media demand from Dillon names. Names of these “Washingon special interests and insurance companies.” And documents. What documentary evidence does Dillon have? Of course, none.

Thank you.

The staffer assured me that constituent interface was Senator’s highest prioritiy, etc. I told him that the Senator had better distance himself from the DNC’s rhetoric, lest he become a 1-hit wonder in Washington.

Moreover, what the heck is an “organized mob”?

with Democrats.

An excerpt:

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi remains America’s best-known – and least-liked - congressional leader.

“Polling released earlier today shows that most Americans (54%) oppose any further congressional funding for the federal “cash for clunkers” program which offers the owners of older cars cash incentives to trade them in for newer, more fuel-efficient ones.

“Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters now rate the U.S. health care system as good or excellent, while 19% rate it as poor. These figures reflect a significant increase in support for the health care system over the past few months, even as Congress works on plans to reform that system. Polling last week showed that 47% of voters favor the health care reform plan working its way through Congress while 49% are opposed.

“Just 16% of voters believe that tax increases help the economy while 54% say tax increases hurt the economy, a number that has been fairly consistent for more than a decade.”

They're accusing us of acting like...well, THEM

Next93 Wednesday, August 5th at 8:58PM EDT (link)

Has anyone ever noticed that the Democrats accuse republicans of things that they themselves do all the time?

They accused Bush of stealing an election, then another one, when in FACT they’ve stolen the governor’s mansion in Washington and a Senate seat in Minnesota.

They accused Bush of stifling dessent, while they dream of shutting down conservative radio stations and compile an enemies list.

They accuse the Bush administration of cronyism, when pass laws to establish a patronage system of “carbon credits” that will be handed out by Congress to political allies.

They accuse the Bush administration of curtailing freedoms, then attempt to tell us what we can eat and drink (”soda tax”) and what doctor we can go to.

They accused Bush of weakening the country while…well, no sense in going into the gory details THERE.

What they’re really afraid of is that we’ll take up thier own tactics (like community organizing among the productive class).

Is there anyone “out there” that can at the very least, direct me to a website, or some other location, where I and others can read and make my own determination as to the ENTIRE set of facts about: 1) stimulus bill; 2) health care reform?????

I am tired of having to learn the truth of these bills AFTER they are voted upon. As a member of a free democracy, I believe I should be able to see the wording of these draft bills at the same moment as my senator or representative, so I can at least deliberate the issue with him or her BEFORE they vote.

After all, what is “transparency” if it isn’t going to be practiced?? My fate, and the fate of others, should not be decided in a back room out of sunlight.–and I should be able to decide on my own if I like it or not…
