‘Muddling Through a Rescue,’ President Obama has no Time, Energy for ‘Solutions’ that Exist Outside his Leftist Worldview

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 9th at 11:12 AM  |

Believe it or not, the term “muddling through” comes from none other than ultra-Keynesian Paul Krugman, who kicked off today’s column by saying, “The Obama administration’s economic policy is already falling behind the curve, and there’s a real, growing danger that it will never catch up.” It’s pretty clear that “muddling through a rescue” is about the kindest face that can possibly be put on | Read More »

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) Demonstrates 9,286 in Printed Form (Open Thread)

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 02:42 PM  |

Yikes – that’s a lot of paper. Then again, as the Obama administration’s advent has apparently succeeded in bringing fur back into fashion with “high-minded” Democrats, I’m not terribly surprised that paper waste of that magnitude (let alone spending waste of the magnitude that paper represents) is pretty much a ho-hum deal these days.

House GOP Leaders Reach Across Aisle, Pledge to Support Obama if he will Attempt to Fulfill Promise of Fiscal Responsibility

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 02:06 PM  |

Last Friday, ten House Republican leaders sent a letter to President Barack Obama. In it, they offered to work across party lines and Congressional divisions with the new president to achieve the latter’s stated commitment “to fiscal transparency and accountability and ensuring that [all] spending commitments are paid for without burdening our children and grandchildren with excessive debt,” and to “slash[ing] earmarks to no greater | Read More »

GOP Attempt to Freeze Spending, Strip Earmarks from Omnibus Fails in House

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 12:54 PM  |

Update: An emailer points out that the 54 Rs and Ds who abstained from voting on the motion must have made President Obama, with his history of over 100 “present” votes in the Illinois state legislature, very proud. Minority Leader John Boehner’s Motion to Recommit, which would have frozen federal spending at current levels and stripped the 9,000 un-reviewed earmarks from the $410,000,000,000.00 omnibus spending | Read More »

Left-Wing Talk Show Host, Desperate for Attention, Says ‘Execute Rush for Treason’

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 11:59 AM  |

I wanted to tell you about what “liberal talk show host” Stephanie Miller said on Larry King the other night, but my ADD got the better of me as I was typing the title to this post, and I started thinking about just what a “left-wing talk show host” actually was, and wondering whether, much like the tree falling in the remote woods, if a | Read More »

BREAKING: House Republicans to Force Vote on Spending Freeze, Stripping of Earmarks from Omnibus

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 10:52 AM  |

We’ve received word that House Republicans plan to force a vote this morning on a spending freeze that would lock in federal spending at current levels and strip the $410,000,000,000.00 “omnibus” spending bill of all 9,000 “un-scrutinized earmarks.” Though certain to fail, this is another laudable move from a GOP minority that unanimously opposed the nearly $1,000,000,000,000.00 in pork-barrel waste that made up President Obama’s | Read More »

Support Rush, Oppose Obama, and Send the DNC a (Familiar) Message

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 09:30 AM  |

Entirely in tune with the “post-partisan” brand of “new politics” Barack Obama (D-IL) has brought with him to Washington, the DNC has launched a new contest: think of the smuggest, most partisan, and crudest ten-words-or-less message to Rush Limbaugh that you can, submit it for to the Democrat Party (along with your ZIP code and email address), and hope to win the grand prize: your | Read More »

Different Sheet of Music Alert: Contra Steph, the DNC Claims Eric Cantor, Rush Limbaugh are on the Same Page

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 6th at 09:00 AM  |

Remember ABC host George Stephanopoulos’s claim last Sunday that House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) was rushing to repudiate Rush Limbaugh himself, along with Limbaugh’s willingness to fight for conservative principles and for American (rather than Obaman) success? Well, it looks like the Democratic National Committee needs to start getting in on the daily strategy calls between Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) and | Read More »

Of course, CNN being what it is, no mention of that was made in the firing show cancellation announcement, which blamed the termination of D.L. At 2:45, the Congressman from Mizzurruh has some pointed, and accurate, words for the President whose bailouts and budgets are assaults on capitalism, productivity, and responsibility, and whose every action has served to abort recovery, instead driving our economy further into a hole.

From Tea Party to Constitutional Convention?

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 3rd at 01:12 PM  |

On December 16, 1773, a group of colonists known as the Sons of Liberty boarded three English ships at Massachusetts’ Griffin Wharf. Obama’s Rhetoric, Democratic “Leadership,” and the Dow Jones Industrial Average

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  March 3rd at 08:49 AM  |

Since taking office, President Obama has taken advantage of every opportunity to talk down America’s economy, productivity, and future opportunities, and to shovel blame for the consequences of that doom-and-gloom pessimism onto the administration that preceded his. Yesterday, the market closed below 7,000 for the first time since 1997 — the first year of President Clinton’s second term. Further, since the Democrats took over Congress | Read More »
