CNN Political Director: Regular People Are Too Dumb to Understand Exit Polls

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 4th at 05:01 PM  |

As exit polling data begins to be released, remember this pithy quote from Sam Feist, political director at CNN: “Exit poll information in the hands of trained professionals is perfectly fine. Exit poll information in the hand of the general public, who may not understand what it means or stands for, can be dangerous.”

    Parasites for Obama

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 4th at 01:20 PM  |

“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage…” So what happens when her car runs out of gas and her house is foreclosed on, and Obama doesn’t pick her up on the side of the road or pay her mortgage for her? Will the result just be more anger at the White Man, | Read More »

Men dressed as Black Panthers brandishing nightsticks, blocking entrance to PA polling location [Updated with more video]

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 4th at 12:47 PM  |

Update: This hasn’t been limited to a single polling location, nor apparently a single state. The video below shows the nightstick-wielding man from the FOX news report, and there have been reports of Black Panther wannabes intimidating voters from as far away as Tennessee. Perhaps this is what Sen. Obama was referring to when he boasted of a civilian homeland defense force during his campaign? | Read More »

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 4th at 11:12 AM  |

A special Milwaukee, WI police unit that practically wrote the book on vote fraud and how to prevent it has been told not to go near polling locations today, the Wall Street Journal is reporting.

Early voting numbers favor Dino Rossi over Democrat Christine Gregoire in WA GOV race

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 3rd at 01:02 PM  |

Washington state set a new voter registration record this year, and voters have turned out en masse to cast their ballots early. However, despite the conventional wisdom that new and early voters are Democrats in this virulently anti-Republican year, Republican areas in Washington state are seeing far higher voter turnout than traditionally Democratic strongholds. Will Warren continues to be awesome

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 3rd at 11:25 AM  |

Inspired by the Obama campaign’s decision to kick reporters from three McCain-endorsing newspapers off his campaign plane, cartoonist Will Warren has produced this latest in his ongoing line of editorial cartoon gems:

Former Sen. Max Cleland calls Saxby Chambliss “Chicken Hawk,” says he “tricked people” to get out of service in Vietnam

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  November 3rd at 12:44 AM  |

Former Georgia Senator Max Cleland and a number of his fellow Democrats are clearly still obsessing over the ad run six years ago that dared pointed out Cleland’s refusal, in the immediate aftermath of September 11, 2001, to vote for new homeland security measures proposed by the Bush administration. Do not endorse Obama, do not keep your seat on the Obama Express

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 31st at 10:12 AM  |

The Obama campaign has bumped representatives from three major newspapers that endorsed John McCain for president over Obama off of its campaign plane for the final days of the race. The Dallas Morning News, Washington Times, and New York Post “have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs — and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two | Read More »

Text of the Murtha letter to MoveOn.org begging for cash

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 30th at 05:59 PM  |

Origninally mentioned here. Dear Friends, After decades of fighting for this country and our troops, I am up against the right-wing attack machine again. Murtha: “WE NEED MONEY IMMEDIATELY!!”

By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 30th at 03:37 PM  |

Embattled Democrat porker (and current defendant in a pair of slander lawsuits stemming from his repeated shouting from rooftops that U.S. Marines are “cold-blooded killers”) John Murtha (PA-12) sent a message to MoveOn.org’s email list asking members to remember his “chip in” to his surprisingly difficult reelection bid. Further, a Murtha fundraiser sent an urgent request this afternoon to “defense industry lobbyists” which read: Cong. | Read More »

In 2006, the Los Angeles Times decided an audio tape it had obtained of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, an apologetic Republican, in which he said of latina Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia (R-80), “She seems to me like Cuban … She maybe is Puerto Rican or the same thing as Cuban. By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 28th at 05:26 PM  |

Two weeks ago, John Murtha (D-PA), the Vietnam veteran who is currently being sued by two former Marines for slandering them on national television as “cold-blooded killers,” let his “tolerant man of the people” mask slip and told his constituents outright what he thought of them: that they’re pathetic, dirty, unrepentant and unvarnished racists (video below). By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 28th at 11:10 AM  |

“It has become crystal clear throughout this race that Jeanne Shaheen’s entire campaign is scripted from Washington,” wrote the New Hampshire Union Leader of the Granite state’s Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate earlier this week. “If the national Democratic Party leadership doesn’t have a talking point on it, then she doesn’t have a position on it. By: Jeff Emanuel (Diary)  |  October 15th at 09:49 PM  |

Both candidates looked flat to me, though I was clearly being harder on Sen. McCain than several of my colleagues, whose instant messages and emails seem to overwhelmingly support McCain as the sound winner of this go-round. My thoughts, added as the debate went on, below the fold.

For background information, Lyubner is a publicist for Workman Publishing, the publishing house responsible for popular books like 1,000 Places to See Before You Die and slightly less mainstream works like The Bathroom Humor Page-a-Day Calendar and Bad President, a “humor” book about George W.
