Brian Kolfage, Triple Amputee Veteran, Wants to Tell Trump How to Fix the VA

Senior Airman Brian Kolfage is the most severely wounded airman to survive his wounds. He is a triple amputee who *walked* out of Walter Reed just 11 months after being injured. Yet, even he has to deal with VA bureaucracy when attempting to secure the benefits for which he paid so dearly.

Now, Kolfage wants to bend Donald Trump’s ear about how to fix the VA – and wants help getting the message to the President-elect.

In a Facebook post, Kolfage shared a few examples of the challenges he’s faced:

I’ve been deeply entrenched in the VA for over 10 years now. I’ve used all of their programs from education benefits, to regular care. I’ve had to wait months with a broken wheelchair that was missing a wheel to be fixed! That’s right a $100 part and my only mode of transportation took the VA 5 moths to get it fixed. And I’m still dealing with issues like this today!

I’ve had the VA wrongfully steal thousands of dollars from my compensation for losing my limbs, over an error that they made an I never got it back!

After suffering a mental trauma that’s likely as bad as the physical injuries, Senior Airman Kolfage returned to active duty, graduated from college, and is a husband, father, and motivational speaker. If Trump is serious about draining the swamp and bringing real change to Washington, he should consider having someone like Kolfage in a high-level position reforming the Veterans Administration.
