Right on Cue: CA Dem Claims Trump Immigration Order Will Harm Elderly Americans

Democrats in California have been preparing to battle Donald Trump since the moment he was elected, particularly on the issue of immigration, so the defiant reaction of prominent lawmakers to the executive orders issued Wednesday was not surprising.

On MSNBC Wednesday night, State Senator Kevin de Leon took the defiant rhetoric further, and looked so ridiculous while uttering his talking points that he could have been mistaken for Dom Tullipso. His comments are at 3:30.

It’s a page from the standard liberal playbook – tell people that children and the elderly will be hurt by those horrible GOP policies. It’s worked for years, so why not trot it out now? De Leon said:

The federal government and Donald J. Trump cannot commandeer and force local…governments and the State of California to do his work. California will not be a cog in the Trump deportation machine.

He has threatened us by withholding dollars…when he threatens California by withholding dollars, precious dollars that we need, he’s actually threatening senior citizens who are early signs with dementia or Alzheimers, young children who are on the spectrum….When he threatens California, he actually threatens the economy of the United States of America.

Ooh, now Republicans aren’t just itching to kill/harm children or the elderly. Now the victims will also have disabilities AND those insensitive conservative bastards are threatening the economy, too. Wow.

By the end of that interview, de Leon looks quite angry. He might want to get some help with that issue. It can’t be healthy.

Laughingly, de Leon decries Trump’s actions as “blackmail” and “malicious,” and says in the United States we debate about laws and policy. Really? I’m pretty sure all of the Californians who have been affected by all the gut-and-amend legislation you and your cronies allowed last year would beg to differ.

De Leon’s not the only one losing his marbles over this. His political rival Gavin Newsom told the LA Times, supposedly with a straight face:

“It’s irresponsible and irrational to force cities to participate in deportation crackdowns by threatening to take away their public safety and homeland security dollars — since the inevitable result will be making our cities and our homeland far less safe and secure.”

The inevitable result of deporting criminals is making our cities less secure? Tell that to Kate Steinle’s parents.

De Leon said Trump will see them in court over this issue, which should be a warning to all Californians that your wallets are about to get lighter.
