Ten Ways ObamaCare Will Raise Your Insurance Costs

    1. No recisions or higher premiums for unhealthy policy holders — that cost spread to all. 2. Pre-existing conditions can buy for same price as healthy (i.e. how much medical care will young HIV positive patients need?) — that cost spread to all. 3. No high deductible health plans (the elite think this is bad) — that cost spread to purchaser. 4. It’s cheaper to | Read More »

MSM Attacks on the Tea Party — Week #2

We’re now into the second week of MSM attacks on the “racist, homophobic, hate-filled, angry white” Tea Party movement. This is different than last summer’s town halls.  Last summer it was only Democrat Leaders that were mis-characterizing concerned citizens as astro-turf, thugs, angry mobs, and haters.  Now we have the full force of the MSM being the foot soldiers in the Democrats strategy. Clearly the intent | Read More »

Is the Obama Administration “Gaming” the Labor Statistics?

The “official” unemployment rate has dropped from a high of 10.1% in October of 2009 to 9.7% in February.  How did this happen when over these last four months there has been no net job creation?  Labor experts tell us that the economy has to create 100,000 jobs per month just to stay even with the unemployment rate.  This means that 400,000 jobs would have | Read More »

Americans Held Hostage — Day 237

Barack Obama has a lot more in common with Jimmy Carter than the press is willing to cover.  Americans are once again being held hostage in Iran.  Today is Day 237.  Where’s Koppel?  Where’s Nightline?  Where’s all the rest of the press?  Oh, that’s right: if they’re not already working in the Obama White House, they’ve probably submitted their resumes. On Friday, July 31, 2009 | Read More »

California Already has a Court Challenge Going to the Supreme Court

There’s a story in Bloomberg today about a relevant court case from California already headed to the Supreme Court.  California is challenging the Federal Government’s ability to mandate their Medicaid reimbursement rate.  If the Supreme’s decide in California’s favor, this could seriously damage Obamacare’s ability to mandate that up to 16 million newly insured be covered by the state Medicaid system. The money line: The Ninth | Read More »

Obamacare DOES Allow Purchase of Insurance Across State Lines (Kind of)

One of the best Republican arguments was that competition would bring insurance premiums down by allowing insurance companies to sell their policies nationally.  The reason this would work so dramatically is that some states (mostly deep blue ones with intrusive government) mandate that all insurance sold in their state cover a wider range of ailments and have more restrictions than insurance sold in the lower | Read More »

We Need a Shadow Government (Sort of)

Conservatives need a tactic to counter-balance President Obama’s upcoming communication tour.

Let’s Take the Fight to the Local and State Level

While the battle to take back the House and the Senate is critical to stop Obama’s further expansion of Federal control over our life, let’s not overlook the importance of our local and state elections.  This is a Census year!  That means the legislatures that we elect this year will draw new Congressional boundaries for 2012.  We need conservative state legislators and governors to ensure | Read More »

Healthcare Bill Provides Free Coverage for Residents of Samoa, Puerto Rico and Other U.S. Territories

One issue not raised, but included in this bill, is the fully subsidized coverage of 5 million residents of U.S. Territories (Puerto, Rico, Samoa, et.al).  This was addressed in a letter sent to President Obama by CBC leader Barbara Lee and printed in full in Politico on 9/4/09 (sorry, I no longer have the link).  The key passage is as follows: Inclusion of provisions that | Read More »

Why Healthcare Delayed Immigration Reform (Duh)

While it should be fairly obvious why Immigration reform has been delayed until after healthcare, I have heard of no Republican leader discussing it. The same rationale that made the Democrats delay full implementation of the bill until 2014 (to manipulate the CBO score) also applies to Immigration.  Can you imagine the cost to add 15 million newly legalized residents to the healthcare rolls, probably | Read More »
