Are Republicans Agreeing to Confirm Robert Chatigny

Politico reports this morning that a deal is imminent for the Republicans to agree to approve of 34 of 38 of President Obama’s pending judicial nominations excepting only Goodwin Liu, Edward Chen, Louis Butler, and John McConnell. I guess that means that the Republicans are caving on the appointment of Robert Chatigny. Redstate readers should be very familiar with Judge Chatigny due to numerous postings | Read More »

    Obama’s Narcissistic Speech Patterns

(For some reason, my orignal post on this didn’t post, so I’ll try again.) Ever notice how many times Obama asserts: “I am the President of the United States“?  At first, this was just an annoying speech pattern to me.  Now, however, it is starting to make me wonder if it doesn’t have some deeper psychological significance.  A few dates that I’ve found (not necessarily in chronological | Read More »

Obama Administration Limiting Press Access to Oil Spill

It seems that the Obama administration is coordinating one aspect of the Gulf Oil Spill response in an efficient manner — that of limiting press access to areas hit hardest by the oil spill.  This from the Huffington Post (of all places): The chief of the Coast Guard’s public affairs programs branch said access had been hampered by a cumbersome approval process that stretched all | Read More »

Obama (once again) Declares: “I am the President”

Ever notice how many times Obama asserts that he is the President of the United States?  What was at first to me just an annoying speech pattern, is now starting to make me wonder if it doesn’t have some deeper psychological significance.  A few dates that I’ve found (not necessarily in chronological order): May27, 2010 press conference, ” I am the President and the buck stops with | Read More »

Expect Some Surprises in the Blago Case

With the Blagojevich case scheduled for trial in six weeks, expect the news to start heating up. CBS Chicago carried a story today that Blago’s lawyers are moving to subpoena Obama because his public statements conflict with one of the prosecution’s witnesses.  In addition, the defense has not received the transcripts of the FBI’s interview with Obama.  Stay tuned for a world class cover-up. Hidden Danger in Dodd Financial “Reform” Bill

I was reading an article about the financial reform bill on OpenMarket.org tonight and I found this comment that got me thinking:  And the bill’s definition of  “nonbank financial company” is so broad that it could cover manufacturers only tangentially involved in extending credit, such as those that lease equipment to their customers. So, I decided to check it out.  I went to Senator Dodd’s web-site | Read More »

How to Repeal ObamaCare Before 2012

It’s time for our first ever Constitutional Convention since the approval of the U.S. Constitution.  Congress has strayed too far off the path and we just can’t wait through two election cycles to replace Congress and the President.  We need to get busy these next 6-1/2 months and elect good, solid, conservatives to our state legislatures. If two-thirds of our states (34) vote for a Constitutional Convention | Read More »

MSM Attacks on the Tea Party — Week #2

We’re now into the second week of MSM attacks on the “racist, homophobic, hate-filled, angry white” Tea Party movement. This is different than last summer’s town halls.  Last summer it was only Democrat Leaders that were mis-characterizing concerned citizens as astro-turf, thugs, angry mobs, and haters.  Now we have the full force of the MSM being the foot soldiers in the Democrats strategy. Clearly the intent | Read More »

Americans Held Hostage — Day 237

Barack Obama has a lot more in common with Jimmy Carter than the press is willing to cover.  Americans are once again being held hostage in Iran.  Today is Day 237.  Where’s Koppel?  Where’s Nightline?  Where’s all the rest of the press?  Oh, that’s right: if they’re not already working in the Obama White House, they’ve probably submitted their resumes.
