White House Stokes Fear About Trump Deleting Crucial Obamacare Data

We’ve been reporting on the crazy panic engulfing the climate change doomsday crowd who fears that upon inauguration, Donald Trump will wipe out all the federal government research on the subject. Now according to Politico the panic has spread to Obamacare zealots.

The White House is encouraging researchers to copy government data on Obamacare out of concern that President-elect Donald Trump might hit the delete key when he takes office.

Spooked by Trump’s rhetoric and pledge to repeal Obamacare, several dozen independent researchers are racing to download key health care data and documents before Jan. 20. They say they began the effort on their own, and then got a boost from Jeanne Lambrew, the White House’s top health reform official, who also sounded alarms the new administration might expunge reams of information from public websites and end access to data, researchers told POLITICO.

Given the amount of misinformation and outright lies the White House has pushed on Obamacare, one would think they would be more concerned about the data being kept and analyzed with a critical eye. Does the name Jonathan Gruber ring a bell? The people who hurriedly rammed Obama’s disastrous “signature accomplishment” through the legislative process before anyone could read what was in it probably have more to fear from sunlight than they do from their fevered premonitions of Trump enacting a massive data expurgation.

A reporter for CNBC even has the audacity after 8 years of Obamacare propaganda and lies, to invoke George Orwell over something that the paranoid left thinks Trump might do.

That hypothetical erasure would echo the “memory hole” in Orwell’s classic dystopian novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four.” The book’s protagonist Winston Smith works in the Ministry of Information, where he labors away at cutting out parts of archived newspaper stories that conflict with governing regime’s latest propaganda line, and disposes of them into a hole leading to a furnace, where they are burnt.

People who cherry pick 1984 to get around the fact that it is a brilliant takedown of left wing socialism really irk me, especially in this instance. We’ve just had 8 years of the most opaque administration in history. The Democrats’ nominee was under investigation by the FBI for hiding data from the public and deleting it after being issued a subpoena. The IRS was used as a weapon against people literally for thinking wrongly, then the official at the center of it all refused to testify and retired with her fat pension intact.

You don’t get to cry “Orwell” about the irrational imaginings of the left wing extremists who used that novel as an instruction manual for the last 8 years. You don’t get to do it without looking like a complete blockhead, anyway.

If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might start thinking this is all a setup by the Obama administration. After January 20th when (hopefully) the Republicans start making real efforts to repeal the legislative atrocity, the Democrats will be able to make up anything they want about Obamacare. If questioned about their sources they can say that all the data showing how successful Obamacare is was deleted by the Trump administration. They’ll say, “We tried to save it but we just couldn’t rescue it all.” Hey, if Harry Reid can torpedo a presidential campaign by saying a guy told him Mitt Romney hasn’t paid taxes in 10 years, I wouldn’t put any of this past the Democrats.
