Movie or Sitcom About Mooch's White House Adventure May Be in the Works

I often complain about Hollywood resorting to remakes and sequels too often instead of coming up with original ideas. This may be an example of “be careful what you wish for.”

TMZ is reporting that a “major Hollywood producer” is talking to Anthony Scaramucci about doing a movie or television show about his flash in the White House pan.

We’ve learned a major Hollywood producer has been in touch with Scaramucci to produce a White House version of “Spin City.” There are 2 working titles — “10 Days in July” and “Attack of the Swamp Monsters.” Our vote is #2.

I hate #2 only because it implies that guys like Mooch are not just as swampy as everyone else. My vote is “in the name of all that’s holy, please just stop.”

We’re told the initial feeling is the concept could work as a sitcom series or a feature.

Either way it would have to be a comedy because the hiring/firing of Scaramucci was all an embarrassing joke.

The concept is an outsider assuming power in D.C. to the great dismay of longtime political hacks who go straight for the jugular.

Um…is that what they think happened with Mooch? If that’s their angle, I don’t think they’re really obligated to talk to him unless they’re set on having their main character sound like a really bad audition for The Sopranos.

I guess they think that story is funnier than the concept of a guy losing his wife and business to go work in the White House only to make a complete ass of himself and get sh*t-canned in less than a fortnight.
