Additional Tips:

Posts that just provide Links (refer to other Articles) and/or Short comments that do not relate to current Full Diary items should be held until an OPEN THREAD is available (usually one Daily on FP [Front Page]), where these Posts/Comments are acceptable.

Following links / Link errors… Some older Pages (Diaries, but especially older Comments) may be pointing to “older” link locations as some Directory locations have changed since the RS Upgrade to RS4.0. If you click on a link and it errors, check the URL for a “diaries” portion appearing between the com and username. Edit/Remove the /diaries/ in your Web-browser Address bar with just a single “/” to separate the redstate.com and username portions in the URL and hit enter to navigate to the new location. Some also may have the word “wordpress” rather than the traditional “www” at the start of the URL which may also require a manual change to the location.

Editting Diary (courtesy of civil_truth):
Here are the steps to editing one of your diaries:
1) Click on “Create New Diary Entry”
2) At the upper left, under your name you will see Write Manage Comments
Click on Manage
3) You will now see a listing of your diary titles
Click on the diary you wish to edit
4) This will bring you to the editing window where you can make changes in your diary
5) Click Save when done

Since the “For HTML Help” link in the RS:Help (08) isn’t currently (March 2009) working you may wish to try these spots: ProffessorNerdy: HTML tutorial (PDF format) or HTMLhelp.com: HTML4

As a newbe I found it most helpful when Detroit posted this in the comment section of one of my first diaries.

Thanks Brian, dj, Mike, all that have hit Reco, and anyone else (blanket, in advance, Thanks) that chimes in with comments… Perhaps when this rolls off the Members-Diaries-List it can be moved over to Red Hot for a short stint!?!?

Thanks again! I took great pride spending hours re-previewing, bouncing around the text, putting in padding space code, etc, to try and make it “look nice” for site display! It would probably look nicer as clickable sub-images as part of one larger overall picture of some sort – hint, hint, hint, for anyone wanting to get image creative

and that page is now also out of date as (if it is still true) Markup text isn’t functional now….

I have to admit that I had NOT even noticed that a direct link on the FP in big letters “HELP” next to the “ABOUT” and other links had been added (maybe been there a long time, but I do not remember ever seeing one when I was first looking for one – had always seen the “ABOUT” and “CONTACT” links though)! Had I noticed it, I would have at least added that “Official” link to the grid of Help Files when I put it together.

Been so long out of practice putting Pages together from scrap, I couldn’t get the TABLE function to cooperate which would have made for quick/easy changes. The current HELP you pointed out is more recent (containing about the same items covered) as the RS:HELP (06) link I have in there, so I’ll change the link to point to that one now as RS:HELP (08).
