Google “Glenn v Holder” to see Gary Glenn’s (Conservative champion/warrior and Candidate for US Senate in Michigan http://www.GaryGlenn.US or http://www.michigan4conservativesenate.com) fight for Rights of Religious Conscience under the First Amendment. Liberals want to “prevent Standing” as if immediately once a Law infringes your Constitutional Rights you don’t receive “immediate harm” by definition of having Government infringe the Rights it is sworn to uphold/protect!!!!!

it does NOT have to be the first (and is NOT the only) option and other treatments for what is “wrong” can, could, should, be addressed by those other methods FIRST. For the exceptions and where it is the only, or “supposed” best option, it can be covered but by APPLICATION (on appeal, even if necessary) with a Second Opinion – rather than handed out like Candy using any “convenient excuse” rather than real diagnosis for an issue/problem.

Frankly, IMO, it should NOT otherwise be covered because its primary design is NOT to cure any actual disease. Again, if the “supposedly” only option for a treatment, it can then be covered if the Doctor and Patient are willing to sign on the dotted line of a FRAUD PREVENTION statement it is truly required – then it could be provided (WITH CO-PAY)!!!!

your contention has no basis in reality.

If someone wants contracetption, they can, could, should, pay for it entirely out of their pocket. IF it is indeed deemed NO OTHER WAY TREATABLE, then Contraception can, could, and should, be covered by WRITTEN APPLICATION ACCEPTION (sworn Doctor statements, 2nd opinions, etc) then covered.

There are APPEAL process’ and procedures for such rare cases. It should NOT be automatically covered so casually! Same with ED pills, give me a break – NOT reproducing while one is UNHEALTHY and/or unfit is a NATURAL protective feature of the Human body. Other Meds are available for those other illnesses/concerns one “supposedly” gets these pills for also. Same APPEAL/exceptions should be made!

This is how it is done with several Drugs regarding various “illnesses!”

Actually there are various issues related to the menstrual cycle among other things that warrant contraceptive pills as medical treatment. It isn’t theory and even the Catholic Church, per Humanae Vitae #15, is ok with their use in those circumstances.

There are numerous diseases, some lifelong, that would make pregnancy for a woman life threatening where the woman or the baby would have no chance of survival. This is by no means the vast majority of contraception use but it most definitely is healthcare.

And does not belong with “Healthcare”. It does not help fight any sickness or disease, and lack of it does not directly adversely affect one’s health. It’s like requiring health plans to cover methadone for those who decide to voluntarily take heroin.
