Let us not forget the whole ‘House Negro’ (again, not in so much those exact words) that Warren Ballentine said to Juan Williams on October 15th of this year — First, at the 8 minute 30 second mark of this exchange (listen carefully) he (Warren) accuses Juan of the same Jackson accusation of ‘Uncle Tom’ by using the words “real Black people” toward Juan, as if he isn’t one. That is then followed by the ‘House Negro’ comment a few seconds later with “you can go back to the porch.”

Now, let me first state that your local Theater is, of course, not at fault for these films appearing there - at least, normally. Except for those ultra-Liberal Independent “Artsy” Theaters that go out of their way to find and show any and all anti-Americanism films as possible from any and all obscure sources, most Theaters operate under Distribution agreements and are (more or less) obligated to put the films on-screen — but that doesn’t mean they can, could, or should, not be the focal point for showing our disdain for these pieces of trash that Liberals keep trying to shove down the throat of Americans as more of the same in the way of Continued Liberal-bent Indoctrination through trying to hide their messages in these films under the ‘guise of “Entertainment” upon some of the unsuspecting Politically Brain-dead masses (or worse, their desire to continue the brain-washing of your kids from out of the local Classrooms and into the Movie Theater).

What am I specifically talking about? What should be targeted?

“Brothers,” for one!! [Official Movie site] Trust me, you’ve already seen this basic “concept” as the “Romantic interests” sub-plot from “Pearl Harbor.” Basically: Soldier supposedly dies; wife (or girlfriend, whatever) moves on, in the case of Brothers the wife becomes involved with the Soldiers’ literal (not figurative) Brother; Soldier isn’t dead and comes back; and the usual anti-Military, pro-appeasement, we should NEVER Fight anyone even if they attack us message, goes on to attempt to imply that all Soldiers go crazy because they were Soldiers, are unstable, etc. The - this is what always happens to/with Military folk BS message as their argument for their Surrender Doctrine.

“Dear John,” for another!! [Official Movie site]. Is anything other than the Title need be mentioned for you to understand that you know exactly what this script portrays. This film’s sole “Make Love Not War” message is that “Military = Bad” (unless Democrats are in charge during Peace so it can be just another “Jobs” and “Education” Program), how it ‘changes’ folks and not for the better, tears couples/families apart, and on and on and on.

These films, of course, always/only focuses on the EXCEPTIONS and never the rule that most our Military men and women are very fine, safe, sane, responsible, loving, FREEDOM LOVING, Americans!

These are, of course, only two of countless that I could go on to mention. You get the point! Now, What are you going to do about them??

Before I go on I want to remind any of our Liberal friends that may have casually surfed in via a search, or other link, that they are truly welcome (please see this “welcome” commentary). It is my hope that you wish to HONESTLY engage in this discussion. Try to maintain a sense of humor and composure as I will take a few jabs along the way.

The “Greater Good” bent logic…
Just like Liberals Democrat Party leaders (I’m trying to be nice) twist the “It Takes A Village” concept, so too they do this one. You know, their “redistribution” version of having to be able to take away from some supposedly ‘overly privileged’ folks in order to give to those less fortunate in the name of “Fairness” and that our society will be better for it.

You folks on the Left may want to think twice the next time you try to trot out your misuse of the “Greater Good” point. Simply put, isn’t the Greater Good, actually served, when the greater number of people have it good! The U.S. System, many Liberals show such disdain for, provides for the greater number of people to have it good. Contrast that with the Russian, Chinese, etc, Socialist System, Progressives are taking us to, provides ONLY THE MINIMUM (certainly not ‘the Good Life’) to the greater number (all but those in charge) of its citizens. It is pretty easy/plain for anyone to see the logic/reason of what the REAL “Greater Good” is!

Just as they refuse (Denial) to acknowledge it is “Socialism” (they know it is, just have to re-brand it), Progressive leaders, and those who buy into it, do not follow it to its logical conclusion as demonstrated the world over and throughout history. Regardless where tried it ultimately brings on misery, not improved lives (increase/abundance), to its citizenry. They would have you believe it will be different ‘just because’ they are the Ruling-elite this time and they can do what Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc, have failed to do - create a Redistributive System that does not implode under its own weight making all its citizens poor, hungry, and almost hopeless.

Their only Hope? AMERICA!!!! The Republic, if we can keep it! (variation on the original Benjamin Franklin quote)

What brought this on? I was at the theater and saw The Box (very boring and bad, read the book instead) and the usual Liberal Political message subtext (Movies and Politics — The Hollywood Hate-fest) came through loud and clear with the unsubtle direct commentary from the dark/mysterious character asking ‘Why Humanity (read: Americans) fails to recognize the Greater Good’ concept. It is, of course, nothing new as we see/hear this in film after film in varying forms to reinforce the Liberal mindset and attempts to subconsciously influence (read: reinforce the Liberal School Indoctrination their Tenured friends impose).

As previously touched on, history demonstrates the failings and short-comings of such a System. That Redistribution schemes, in the name of “equality,” only lower the bar for citizens, except for the Ruling elite. Creating even more “have-nots,” than Ruling-elite “haves,” they claim to try to be rectifying. As those in the Productive vs non-Productive sectors of the Economy (as best described by Daniel Hannan quoted explains best in mbecker’s diary) reap less benefits and therefore have less incentive to actually produce overall wealth the Capitalist (Free-markets) System uses to expand/grow and perpetuate an even greater available sum available to all participating in working to attain/earn it.

As Businesses grow/expand, additional workers are brought on, earnings/wealth DISTRIBUTION occurs. Those with drive and abilities go on to innovate and create yet more Companies which provides yet more opportunities (growing Jobs base, increasing wages, earnings/returns for investors, etc) FOR ALL. The less those who Produce get to keep, the less incentive they have to Produce, which eventually drags down the entire Socialist societies (except those Ruling-elites that have the power to take yet more from the masses to keep their standards of living while others deteriorate) citizenry.

The Russians and the Chinese have all but admitted their failings and have been enacting a new grand experiment of trying to introduce restrained quasi-Capitalism to grow their Economies. They try to delicately balance these “reforms” while maintaining all other aspects of Socialism, in order to create just enough incentivized Producers to have some actual “Wealth” that they can “redistribute.” All the while, hoping their society doesn’t go too far and their people demand a new Revolution and actual/real Freedoms and reforms. They move closer to American ideals while Liberals try to take us further and further toward their failed System (all other Nations are trying to retreat and recover from).

We cannot boil it down to simpler terms than these for you Liberals to grasp! You have to be willing to try and use reasoned thought, and research of history, to overcome the Liberal Indoctrination and Liberal Laziness (as discussed in here, here, and here) you’ve been lulled into.

How does Bankrupting an entire Nation to the point where it cannot assist/aid (provide that “Safety Net,” we are all willing to allow for, to those truly needy) to NONE (Zip, zero, nada one) of its citizens benefit the Whole (that Liberal warped sense/definition of the greater good)? — It’s a simple question, but when asked of a Liberal/Socialist there can be NO RESPONSE! How can they?!?! It defies the twisted-logic they have been selling (or bought into) and therefore must just ignore the question/premise!

The implications and application to the Health-Care debate…
It is all about Fuzzy Math! You’ve seen (or should see) the RS Diaries - Dan Perrin’s: Fun With Honest Budgeting and The Secret Medicare Cuts, for just two; Erick’s: Democrats Prepare To Bribe Doctors To Support Obama[o]care (I add the “o” to make Obamaocare so it is more appropriately descriptive) for another; and find even more here. — This goes to the OTHER Budget manipulation and slight-of-hand in relation to Taxing and Spending of the Democrat Spin-Wizards!

Let’s try to bring this down to the explanation level of a 6th Grader, in order for our Politically Brain-dead Liberal friends to hopefully follow/grasp I’m battling that urge to not be nice….

Money from the Left pocket to the Right pocket…
If you have $25 in each of your pockets. If you move $5 from your right pocket to your left pocket and pay for dinner out of your left pocket, while you may be left with $5 more in that pocket than you would have if you didn’t “stumble upon” that extra Lincoln bill - Did you actually SAVE MONEY? Do you really have more?

Any fool, can see where that logic FAILS, yet Liberals and Democrats expect us to accept this scheme in varying forms to explain how Government money magically appears and is somehow (therefore) a Savings, or somehow not really Spending, or not a Tax on your right pocket, etc.

How does that directly relate to the latest gimmicks/games in the Health-Care bamboozle?

Taxing Medical equipment…
The Democrats try to suggest that Taxing Medical equipment is only a (and want to count it only as) Revenue. Reality is, under their currently proposed schemes, that it is both a Revenue (under one definition of the Bills) and an unaccounted for Expense on the Health-Care coverage side of the ledger. Let us examine, slowly so our Liberal friends can understand it (trying to maintain), how that is the case.

The Tax is put on the Medical equipment. The Tax is collected by the Government when the equipment is purchased (and, of course, will quickly spend it). Let us just say it is the equivalent of $5 a patient worth of Expense for/to the Hospital/Doctor. This Expense is, of course, passed on. When/where the billing goes to the Public Option (or Medicare, or any way the Government pays - since they change the scheme daily) that $5 is PAID (Expense) right back out to the Hospital!

In our simple example (Five dollars into one pocket, transferred to the other pocket, and sent back out), it demonstrates how the Democrats are first front-loading the Revenues and hiding/back-loading the Costs/Expenses to warp the supposed “overall” Budget costs of their Obamaocare scheme to keep it under $1 Trillion. Further, they just out-right don’t bother to factor in the fact that that Tax amount becomes part of the Expense part of the ledger by its cost being passed on.

That their plans, as with all of their others, will greatly accelerate the increase in costs, not reduce them is completely glossed over. That the Budget estimates are flawed because of this from the start making the $850 Billion projection a joke before we even start. All that without even going back and touching on haw the Revenues start immediately but the benefits (Expenses) don’t start until 2013 - not coincidentally following the 2012 campaigns! How can you still not understand these things or allow yourself to be fooled?!?!

The JackAss Party Ruling-elitists will point out that some of those Taxes will be paid by Health-Insurance companies and not the Government (and also ignore that means passed onto YOU by way of Co-Pays, increased premiums, etc) - which is all part of the plan to drive up (not make less expensive) the costs of Private coverage and drive more and more people into the Public Option - or create a further demand for one if they fail to fully implement it this time out (the usual Liberal Incremental-ism and why we’ve come to know compromise isn’t ever really a compromise solution, just a delay-tactic and temporary reprieve from all the negative effects).

Moving People and Funds from Medicare switcheroo (unfunny)…
Moving funds from Medicare, and calling them Savings, while also moving some people, by redefining rules/qualifications, to the Public Option, likewise DOESN’T save anything! It is just cooking the books - that if any Private Company did would be investigated and Personnel sent to Jail for. In Washington, it is SOP to hide the true costs of programs and in this case that Obamaocare will add to the Deficit.

Inflation of Health-Care costs of any/all kinds will far out-pace any Tax (or other funding schemes they come up with to not call them Tax) Revenues to fund them. The availability to CHASE Government funds always increases costs rapidly (such an example is the Student Loans programs that just allow Universities to run up [inflate] Tuition costs because EASY MONEY is out there for Students to get). Again, one has to ignore the history of Liberal Incremental-ism to not understand these simple/basic concepts!!

We Conservatives are not fooled, nor are many otherwise Politically uninvolved folks who have finally awakened this time, by the Democrat schemes. Despite the rhetoric from the Left, we (true Conservatives, not CINO Pavlovian Blue-Dogs) have always had plans that would actually make Health-Care more affordable (blocked by Liberals every time anything related to Health-Care is discussed/proposed) for all (discussed as part of the Health-Care series here, here, here, here, here, and summary here). We can then address coverage for those additionally without and truly in need - if you’ll engage in the debate HONESTLY!!! To help provide coverage to those without - without a complete TAKEOVER of the Health-Care System in America (which anyone being honest can see is the current real goal of current Democrat plans, as has been the plan of Progressives since FDR).

Also, let me add my voice again to the chorus of reminders that WE MUST NOT LET UP! The Democrats are expecting to wear you down and that you will eventually give up and go away. You cannot let that happen. Calls to House members and Senators are still needed on a weekly basis from now until the 2010 Elections to stop all of the ObamAgenda items. The TEApeats (see too Doc’s comment about focusing on the protest and NOT the “Party” (here)) must be kept alive. Involvement in the GOP to make sure it is guided by Conservative principles (GOP (still Conservative) Platform) is crucial so that an extreme Liberal (NY-23) is lauded. Complacency and laziness got us here and we cannot allow that to happen again.

The STUPID (er… Stupak) Amendment is just a strategy boondoggle Republicans stepped in out of LAZINESS and unwillingness to VOTE NO and have to go back and actually engage, explain, educate, constituents as to WHY it was all a SHAME/SHELL-GAME Vote and a NO vote the Right vote (and NOT, by any means would it have been a Pro-Abortion vote). LAZINESS. A NV (Not-Voting) would have been the appropriate stance (no-one could claim they were Pro-Abortion funding that a NO vote would have allowed).

Further…. just proves, IMO, my whole CINOs/PLINOs, and Pavlovian-Blue-Dogs contention. The Stupak Amendment just provided cover for them to vote for the POS which should never have happened, because…
1- (supposedly) Removing Abortion funding from it does NOT make the rest of the Bill ‘GOOD’ - as if the Abortion funding was/is the only ‘BAD’ thing in it!
2- Duplicity Votes - Setting up Duplicity Votes - the have it both way Game Politicians play to be able to say anything during Campaigns
3- Abortion funding WILL STILL OCCUR - Liberals/Democrats ALWAYS consider themselves ABOVE THE LAW and ignore them when convenient to their causes…
3A- The ‘Abortion funding exclusion’ will NOT survive the Conference/Consolidation ‘compromise’ process when it comes time to join in Conference/Committee the House and Senate Bills
3B- Liberal bureaucrats will still pay for ABORTIONS paying for them billed as something like a generic ‘Pregnancy Services’ term - or the like BS (as discussed in one of the Townhalls primers: here, here, here, here, here, and HC issues summary here, don’t recall off-hand which one)

Michael Moore-on’s - “Capitalism: A Love Story” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] Moore realized that a completely one-sided attack piece would not serve to hoodwink Independent/Moderate voters, as too much information and access to the truth exists. He carefully attempts to weave minor criticisms of some Democrats to feign fairness of coverage/criticism, while overtly distorting the Housing Mortgage meltdown by continually repeating the CRA and the deregulation Lies.

The Moore-on hopes that Moderate/Independent voters that supported his Lefty-loon cohorts in the last few Elections will continue to engage in Liberal-Laziness (as discussed in: Politically Brain-dead) and not seek to perform a Reality/Fact Check against his work and therefore just follow the continued under-lying message of - ignore the Democrat Party Socialist agenda (ObamAgenda and ObamAgenda updated) and continue to pull the JackAss lever based on the falsehoods perpetrated by its CINO/PLINO (Pavlov-Blue-Dogs) Campaigns. Again, lack of FACT over Election Campaign Fictions/Promises!

Moore states that ‘Propaganda is easy,’ and his film is indeed clear evidence of how easy it is to create and get main-stream release and coverage - when of the Left-loon bent. (see Moore-on’s: Capitalism, but pay for “Meatballs” thought here.) It is also evident in the MSM responses in some of the very half-hearted supposed “Fact Checking” (more like Truthiness, as we’ll cover later) that is back-door bolstering of the Movie by challenging/questioning minor references (like with Dodd, in this AP article) and wholesale avoidance of Facts not beneficial to their fellow Leftists.

Dissecting this film would require covering the film minute-by-minute and thousands of pages to counter each minute, so I am not going to be bothered when actual and in-depth coverage of the facts (over the Leftist attempts at Truthiness, which is more Left-wing activity they try to “Project” (as discussed here at RS, Psychology thereof and Voting Psychology onto others) exists and is easy to find. A quick search here at RedState will yield clarifications to any and all of Moore’s false assertions (like the CRA link above) - which is recommended rather than my providing any insufficiently quick blurb responses in this Article covering the larger overall issue and not just Moore’s pure Propaganda.

Before going further with this discussion, I want to tackle the topic of: Monitoring Enemy Broadcasts (and likewise, seeing the enemies movies). — and monitoring CNN/MSNBC — Ask a Lib, the last time they listened to Rush? They hadn’t, so we say “So you don’t REALLY know what you are talking about!” Well, I do listen/watch those folks on the other side, so I DO know what I am talking about when they ask and/or as I’ve discussed in The “Pretend you’re a Liberal MSM reporter (and Spin the story)” Challenge, MSM bias, and Voting Psychology (Bandwagon and other effects). I will not be trapped by that Game, nor should you.

Generally, watching any/all pro-Liberal MSM Network TV channels is easy (as is really CNN/MSNBC/etc, as they come with just about any basic Cable/Satellite package, whether you want them or not). As for seeing those Lefty Movies, and yes some are worthwhile entertainment, but not wanting to enrich them for their propaganda — I advocate (semi-quietly) a “Buy and Switch” philosophy, in order to see films you may wish to see (in order to be knowledgeable about them in discussion or) with those Lefty-loons in them you’d rather not support financially. It is really rather simple — I’m not advocating anyone rip-off their local theater by sneaking in some backdoor without paying! I’m suggesting, as I have done this with many movies (”Liars for Losers,” “Sicko,” anything with even just the voice of Lefties Danny Glover or Sean Penn in it, etc) that I would NEVER pay to see, that you just pay to see a film of good value and moral fiber (I bought countless tickets to “Fireproof” and “An American Carol” while they were still in Theaters), even if you may have already paid to see once, and support that film with your money, but (of course) then just sitting in on the Moore-on’s (or whatever other Lefty-bent) flick. That simple. More on that thought here. Out now — buy a ticket for “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets 2-D or Tickets 3-D / Videos].

“Liars for Losers” (er…. “Lions for Lambs“) (2007) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] - A movie that has ONLY to do with Politics, the Leftist propaganda peddling kind. This film has only about 2.5 minutes of action, all of which can be seen in its Trailer, and 90 minutes of Robert Redford (in somewhat appears to be realistic setting, form, etc) being the Academic trying to reinforce the Leftist Education Indoctrination that he fears hasn’t taken hold of some of the College students that “volunteered” for the War On Terror efforts. To demonstrate, for the Theater-goers, how they are just perhaps temporarily misguided and still have time to come back to the Leftist correct-think mindset.

Not all of it is as overt and obvious, other films seek to ‘nudge’ (a term that should be becoming increasingly familiar - Sunstein philosophy articulated). Films that might attract wider audiences because of the action, drama, whatever, and tosses out the occasional scenes or rhetoric dialogue. Some include “The Kingdom” (2007) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] which is a film I greatly enjoyed; the recent “The Hurt Locker” (2008) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos]; and current release “Law Abiding Citizen” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos]. “Law Abiding Citizen” is a good thought-provoking film that ventures into Crime and Punishment, which we, as Conservatives oft lament over Liberals’ inadequacies (Dem’s weak on crime. Always! and more, Liberal Activist Judges, 2008 Election Issues recap [with links], etc). It is worth seeing despite loud-mouth-lefty Jamie Foxx being in it!

Then there are the stark contrasts in availability. Usually easy to find those Left-wing message movies at Theaters about anywhere (”Capitalism” for one) while other ‘positive’ films are often from smaller studios and more limited (like “An American Carol, “Fireproof,” and some others (including “The Greatest Gift”) discussed here). Wait for the DVD? I hear some saying… Well… While “Death Of A President” (2006) is out in DVD release (more) the “Path to 9/11” (2006) Disney is refusing to release (even after it removed some references to the Clinton Administration upon Clinton’s lobbying). I guess they think we are just “lucky” they bothered to show it once in the first place!

What are some of those (more recent) “positive” movies?
Adam Sandler’s 9/11 survivors movie - “Reign Over Me” (2007) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos]; “An American Carol (Laugh like your Country depends on it)” (2008) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos], which is a David Zucker spoof of Michael Moore-on films; Ben Stein’s - “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” (2008) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos]; and previously mentioned “Fireproof” 2008) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos].

Some Movies past of note and to touch on TV:
“The Day After (TV Movie)” (1983) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos / Special / Special 2]; “Red Dawn” (1984) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] and the in-production (2010) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos / Special] which is currently being shot on Streets around Metro-Detroit Michigan; “Amerika (TV mini-series) (1987) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos / Special]; which I always thought would make a very interesting (re-written to tie-in/set-up the next) Series trilogy. My premise, that not all areas being hit by Nuclear attack would setup (coincide) with an invasion, allowing for “The Day After” to tie into “Red Dawn” (and as some areas may be occupied while insurgency continued) would still allow “Amerika” to close. What would be even better, would be a complete edit of combining all three films to jump back and forth providing a complete simulataneous time-line. But anyway, that is sure to never happen.

Another TV item worthy of note is: “Jericho (TV series)” [Official] Why? Well, its underlying message was anti-Right (references too numerous to mention), Conservatives had much to have interest in and the hope that viewers might take away those positives over the Lefty-bent. Additionally, “Jericho” fans, when faced with the shows cancellation, retaliated by using an episode mention of General A.C. McAuliffe’s “Nuts!” quote and sent more than 25 tons of Nuts to CBS (more) and the Network ordered more episodes from the Production company. I posited, that we should likewise be sending Obama ACORNS (here and here) for obvious dual reasons.

Not for Nothing — my all time favorite movie: “The Thirteenth Floor (You can go there, even though it doesn’t exist)” (1999) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos / Special]. The movie was based on the book “SIMULACRON-3” by Daniel F. Galouye (Bantam Books 1964) (Kindle edition) — and the seemingly natural progression/evolution of the “Sim” Games (Maxis Software). “The Thirteenth Floor” could have been called “Sim-City 5000″ and probably hooked in alot more folks by the reference, though the Maxis folks may not have allowed such a linkage.

In a town obsessed with finding any reason/excuse to put a Leftist bent into a film, “The Thirteenth Floor” completely avoids the Politics of the SIMULACRON-3 book. The book is all about Politics. The whole purpose of designing the ’simulated world’ is to find better ways of controlling the masses without having to actually interact with Real Humans with Pollsters - whom, by law, you must comply to questioning. The Movie provides a wonderful mix of Crime Drama, Romance, Action, Suspense, and Sci-Fi.

“The Thirteenth Floor” also contains my favorite Movie Tune: The Cardigans - Erase/Rewind “What did you hear me say, You know the difference in Makes…” (where she runs the “me say” together, craftfully to create a Me plural, alternately used in song singular and plural, which only makes sense to the movie) The lyrics of which, IMO, is the best tailored/written set to both fit the film and stand-alone general tune. I mention it, though it doesn’t fit the following comment, of how Music is also (sometimes attempted subliminally and other times overtly) used to move audiences to the Lefty-mindset they are attempting to bring across and “persuade” you into — or to keep all the other Indoctrination fresh in mind! I don’t want to leave the “Music in Movies” thought without mentioning The Who’s “Reign O’er Me” used in Sandler’s “Reign Over Me” and wonder how much the tune directly lead to the concept/thought of the Movie above and beyond the Title inspiration.

I’ve covered a mix of past and present films - as to some others in Theaters now: “Astro Boy” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] which is yet another cartoon Indoctrination effort peddling the ‘mankind will kill the planet’ by way of our Capitalist consumerism ways and the evils of the Military Industrial complex message. Frankly, I just thought “Astro Boy” was annoying as I kept expecting him to serve a Big Boy combo with a side of Pie. Even “Saw VI” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] tows the Health Care Reform Now message, going on about the evils of the Health-Care Insurance companies (Health-Care primers: here, here, here, here, here, and summary here), with a side order of those Sub-Prime Mortgage Predators (CRA and the deregulation Lies). Pass on those films, or at least buy-and-switch as previously discussed, if your child wants to see the former and your friends insist on seeing the potentially last in the series of the later.

Then there is, of course, practically a full subject in and of itself, the relentless assault on RELIGION…

“The Da Vinci Code” (2006) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] and “Angels And Demons (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos], both of which drew picketing (which I discuss: here and therefore won’t go into again except to say that those movies actually brought some folks to some Churches interested in actually learning about the Faiths. While others are outright attacks on any/all Religion (yet I saw no picketers) for the outrageous (in Sacha Baron Cohen’s - “Borat” ambush under false pretense and portray, but NOT in the name of ‘having light-hearted fun’ Comedy, style) Bill Maher’s - “Religulous” (2008) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos], which I’m none-too-happy about Lionsgate agreeing to distribute.

Then there are the Religious overtones that ask us if we have a sense-of-humor in relation to Religion - though it can be easily contended the other way that they are just mocking Religion - it depends on us I guess. “Invention of Lying” (2009) [Trailer / Official / IMDb / Tickets / Videos] challenges Judaism and Christianity (but not surprisingly: Islam is untoched). Counter to treating
Scientology and/or directly Religion of Climate Change as sacred.

In yet another version of Like Hollywood, Democrats use new Actors to replay the same Script on Health-Care, Barack Obama appeared on every Sunday Show - except, of course, Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace - to cover the same Democrat Talking Points we’ve been hearing for Months now! The out-right lies, or sometimes carefully crafted dodges built around a small grain of truth, have been covered thus far at length here, here, here, here, here, and short summary here - and we shall continue to cover the DETAILS while the White House tries to use more Obama Style Over Substance.

The most quoted interview came from, JackAss Party hack and White House Secret Phone Conversations participant (so, as if the Liar-In-Chief didn’t know what exact questions were coming), George Stefan-snuffleupagus-opoulos. While the usual HC Townhall Hi-jinks: Depends on the Definition of “is” is antics continue in regard to whether or not the Mandates are Taxes is getting most of the airplay, the whole “Mandates” concept itself needs further scrutiny. We shall not shirk that responsibility…

In full-fledged CINO/Blue-Pavlov-Dog Democrat fashion, he tried to couch his new found “support” for Mandates he insisted he was against (before he was for) in Conservative terminology and about how “Personal Responsibility” is being shirked and Health-Care costs are being passed onto others when some younger Americans ‘will not purchase their own Health-Insurance despite being able to afford to do so.’ That, like not wanting to take over Auto companies, he really doesn’t want to but, we have to allow Liberals to takeover all of Health-Care to stop that very small percentage of folks that choose to not purchase Health-Insurance and later have an Emergency room visit and impose those costs onto the rest of us because of it.

Since that is being “entertained” I suggest we consider some other Mandates to cover other people’s lack of Personal Responsibilities and costs…

Welfare Warranty….
Perhaps, since people keep filling up the Welfare rolls and “pass the costs” onto the rest of us, by Barack Obama’s Pretzel logic we should create a Welfare Warranty Mandate. Every American, say starting from the age of 12 (twelve), as Liberals are pushing Sex Education on all Children long before that, a Mandated “Welfare Warranty” tax (oops, sorry, it’s not a Tax lol). That way, they are “covered” for when those Children they cannot, or should we say - they chose not to prepare to, cover come along they’ve paid into the system for them!?!?

To help subsidize the program, a Tacks (yes, pun on Tax) on Condoms could be levied.

College Coverage…
When an American has a Child, there would be that “Baby, non-Tax” to take care of the “College Coverage” Mandate and we don’t have to worry about those pesky “Student Loans” and Liberals’ plans to takeover all Student Loans. That way, if the Liberals’ Children manage to not get thrown out of K-12, or drop-out on their own, they will be “all set” with prepaid Advanced Education.

Modeled after the Health-Care “Reform” debate - To help offset the program, savings from Waste, Fraud, and Abuse, in Library book fees could be realized and we could squeeze the Professors and Universities like they want to the Doctors and Hospitals.

Unemployment Underwriting…
Since Obamaocare is trying to set a new standard in Taxation by imposing Fees, Fines, Taxes, and even potential Jail sentences, in order to enforce everyone has Health-Care Coverage - how about we get America out of the Unemployment business? How?

Let’s start by putting a Special Tax on Unions. From their why aren’t Democrats imposing Fees and Taxes upon all those who work for a living to cover their own potential Unemployment?!?! All those Unemployment Offices could be shut down and the Government out of the Unemployment business if everyone had their own Personal Unemployment Insurance! Which, of course, provides the answer why they would never consider bothering trying to IMPOSE COVERAGE for that. Don’t more people go Bankrupt due to having no Job, and therefore no money, than by a Medical Emergency?!?!? After all, that is one of the “reasons” why we are supposed to accept that Health-Care can, could, should, be imposed upon all Americans! Maybe those who QUIT a Job should be fined for the imposition they are putting upon others.

It is not even Xristos-mass time and I am really tired of Liberals corrupting, distorting, twisting, misquoting, etc, the message of Christ (or just the Torah, if you prefer, this is about Religion in general) to promote Liberal Government. Not even to begin to touch on their invocations of “Separation of Church and State” double-standards. You’ll see this has been brewing/building for some time as parts have been touched on in other writings.

This is, no doubt, going to offend and/or anger many on the Left, as if that isn’t a good reason to do it on its own, but it probably isn’t going to get any of them to honestly examine their Life, their Faith, and if they are actually applying the two together!?!? How there is a complete disconnect between the message and how it is intended to be implemented with them escapes me (not really). That does (really) trouble me, as a person who really is concerned about all of my fellow Americans.

First, a h/t to bs and his FP Diary I Am Angry that, most recently, reawakened these concerns over what seems to me to be obviously misguided convictions, that they are willingly being led into a Statism intent on replacing traditional Faith as the primary entity for worship. That they cannot grasp that statement/concept, makes it even less excusable that they do not make any attempts to see the path that those they choose to follow “Hope” to lead them down. This is NOT just about Abortion. It is the explaining away of how the Govt. should just not be “allowed” to do so many Liberal ideas/things but that it somehow (in their minds) “must” do any number of things.

While I go more in-depth in Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead and/or to a lessor extent in other Diaries here or here, I pointed out in my comment (Psychology of awakening ObamaZombies from Liberal Laziness) in bs’ Diary and want to briefly touch on again here, the following point:

Shock, Denial, Anger, Acceptance.
Political awareness and Coming to grips with the fact the JackAss Party today is nowhere what it used to be just 50 years ago (and even then it was socialist, just the RINO drip drip slow kind (Republicans must be the Party of NO [to Bigger Govt.] not the Party of SLOW[er Liberal Incremental-ism])) is like the grieving process. We have some that get that SHOCK but quickly just eagerly dwell in the DENIAL phase for the rest of their life. It’s easier that way, of course, to just stumble through life completely oblivious to Reality and keep the little bubble of friends equally in the dark. It is not until we force them to view out their window and see REALITY that they will get to the ANGER phase and to ultimate ACCEPTANCE of the error of their LIBERAL LAZINESS childishness (ultimately selfish, extort from others rather than do ANYTHING themselves to help their friends, family, neighbors, etc, ways).

I say this all, of course, NOT for thoughtful RedStaters but for the visitors we have that hadn’t figured this out yet and/or for those that might need one additional “thought-provoking” way to try and awaken one of the Brain-deads that may be in their life.

But, that is just the layer above the surface. It is what is under that which troubles me most and what I’ve ultimately begun this Diary to address. That is what I (we) clearly see as the DETOUR Liberal Democrats have put in place and many have followed for so long that they don’t recall they have detoured and/or that they are way off course and on the wrong road. The Liberal Democrats’ desire to “Separate You From Church To State, not the Separation Of Church And State” that Liberals have gotten wrong from the beginning of the Progressive movement (not unintentionally)!

Co-opting Faith, Hope, and Charity.
It’s obvious how “Hope” is being twisted, so let’s move right to Charity. I’d like to refer to a common theme on a few ProBamaCare signs making the rounds at the Health-care Townhalls (HC Townhall: Like Hollywood, Democrats used new Actors to replay the same Script.) invoking (what is supposedly, according to them if it’s Republicans/Conservatives) forbidden from Politics: Religion! Charity…

Dear Brain-deads: Charity begins at Home and is giving NOT Extortion (Extortion, pure and simple (to raise taxes or avoid/enact legislation)) via the Power of Government. Giving from one’s own holdings rather than reaching into someone else’s pocket-book to give to others. That is NOT CHARITY, it is SOCIALISM - Liberal Brain-dead ObaMorons, just their latest incarnation as they’ve been lost Pavlov-dogs behind any/all Leftists since Carter, can’t grasp that basic concept/definition!

It Takes A Village (read: community).
Responsibilities to our Brothers and Sisters. Hillary tried to cash in on that Liberal distortion and Obama has tried to drop it a few times in regard to implying a “Moral imperative” to/for a complete Health-care Takeover, rather than true reforms we would agree to. Like Charity,
It Takes A Village is not offensive to Conservatives, on the contrary - we welcome it! It is, as always, the warped distortion of it by Liberals from Voluntarily (in keeping with God’s gift to us of Free Will and expectation we “choose” to engage in it as part of our Faith and Salvation plans) over Coercion/Extortion… As with Charity, when it is forced/commanded by the State, it crossed from the simple “Community” and becomes the “Political Communism!”

Let me spell this out another way for our ultra-Liberal lurkers who (especially a couple of folks from SA, so you can quote me correctly and not link for folks to read the whole things [an aside - some reasonable folks there intermingled with the usual Liberal Brain-deads], and maybe even a few Conservatives over there that don’t know how to explain the difference to those that) don’t grasp the distinction:
Conservative = Willingly helping fellow Americans, that may have need, of their own volition - giving aid, comfort, time, ones OWN money, etc…
Liberal/Democrat = Engaging in the Laziness of Liberalism (Class Warfare) by voting to have the Government Extort money (Taxes) from the Productive to redistribute to Others, so as to feel (that usual Education Indoctrination Esteem/Style over Substance) good about having done - really nothing - for someone else.

Obama goes on about “False witness” to impugn his detractors, while his Party members continually Lie about what is in the sole plan (HR3200) in Consideration in the Congress (their distortions/lies details directly highlighted/refuted: here, here, here, and here). Further lying by claiming his own plan (Obama’s “My HC plan” Lie - Obama’s HC dodge, quoting a non-existent and/or not in consideration Plan) - he isn’t saying “His preferences are” he outright Lies about a Plan no-one can read because it doesn’t exist. If it did it would be available to read from Whitehouse.gov and introduced into the House or Senate by a fellow Obamunist for Consideration - again, cannot, and will not, because it doesn’t exist! We know they are NOT going to listen to our giving them the FACTS, so we have to have the cute, quick, brief, piffy, comments that despite themselves might stick in their Dead-Brain-matter and fester. Enough of those using one liners to get people to think (one-liner quotes/jabs) can add up over time and help to awaken some (Optimism and Faith in, at least, several of the Brain-deads who didn’t bother to vote to wake up at least). In our past stops along the Obamunism Express we visited (D-MI) John Dingell’s recitation of approved Democrat Talking Point responses in the form of MYTHS versus TRUTHS to distort the language in HR3200 to what they prefer you to believe is really in the Bill (to which direct responses with Section, Page, Line, SPECIFICS to refute their Propaganda was outlined). Next was a review, in part, of the Obamunist Administrations attempt to reshape the narrative and the various incarnations they’ve had their MSM allies attempt to run us off the road along the way in More HC Townhall Hi-jinks. Just previous was a poddy stop to hear the same-old lies from (D-MI) Gary Peters (New Actor, Same Script). Today, Steny “The Cockapoo” Hoyer reminds us of how they somehow deserve Special/better/different plans from the rest of us! [update: an additional part 5: HC Mandates - How 'bout some others? Welfare Warranty? College Coverage?]

Steny Hoyer (D-MD) was/is certainly not unique, these are all repeats of the same lines already ingrained into the ObamaZombies, and therefore relates to almost all other Townhalls. You may or may not have already seen/heard the soundbite, a man challenging Hoyer, and the rest of DC Politicians, to stop exempting themselves from the Laws they pass for the rest of us and asking: ‘Will you put yourself on the same plans you want to make available via the HR 3200 Bill?’ (more or less) The pre-approved Democrat Talking Point response: “We will have the same Choices as you!”

For the Brain-deads that don’t grasp the Dodge, what he means is they WILL NOT eliminate the Special Congress-critter plans, but will have the choice to take the Public option — can any of you out there really be that numb in the skull so-as to believe any of the Politicians will OPT OUT of their current “CHOICE” and choose the Public and/or any other substantially less generous plan this Bill has outlined to offer the General Public?!?!

If the Public Option is GOOD ENOUGH FOR UNINSURED AMERICANS then it should be good enough for our Congress-critters to TRY IT FIRST and then let us know what they think of it a few years down the road - then give us the choice. How about they pass a Law to completely remove all their current choices and abide by only the “choices” made available under HR 3200?!?! Any thinking person understands this when put to them in such simple and easy to grasp language, unless they just want to remain a Lazy Liberal and oblivious of the Facts/Truth. It seems the majority in DC are NOT going to pay any attention to the mood of the country, as many of you in DC hadn't regarding many other votes, but here goes.... Many Americans do indeed want Health INSURANCE Reform to improve the state of Health Care in America, BUT... there can be No Compromise with the current HR3200 boondoggle... It must be scraped and a new plan, encompassing REAL SOLUTIONS (Not just plans to shift HC to Govt. Takeover that HR3200 is) that we as Republicans have spoken of/for for years. Cross-State line portability, Tort reform, PreExisting condition exclusion elimination (not allowed in MI, enact that Nationally), post employment coverage (modifying COBRA and HSA/MSA accounts to NOT ZERO OUT each year so multi-year savings can/will PAY FOR OWN COVERAGE while between jobs), (avoiding the HR3200 consequence/fact) More Govt. regulations and paperwork will DRIVE UP not reduce costs and bring us more Lawyers and Office Administrators to deal with it NOT Doctors, etc.... How many remakes we gonna get?? Yes, there were many of those pesky folks for the Democrats/MSM to play up as Angry Mob script portion of the TOWNHALL: Part 3,792 (a/k/a: illegal ALIENS VERSUS power hungry democrat PREDATORS, actually they’ve teamed up not opposing one another this time) or was this Barack Back Health-Care Mountain part 722? - yet the venue was still incapable of fitting all who wished to attend the Opening. The West Bloomfield Michigan High School Hall was filled to its 800 person capacity, while a W.Bloomfield Police Officer estimated an additional 1,000 people were shut out. The Lights, (Cell)Cameras, and Action, was to begin at 18:00 but settling the turnout into their seats delayed that by 1 hour, but the program ran for the complete Projected Two Hour run-time.

As one (of the Politically Brain-dead) persons could be over-heard proclaiming: “I came to hear what the Congressman has to say!” She, of course, has it perfectly backwards. We do not work for the Congressman, the Congress-critters and Senate-dwellers are supposed to work for us! However, she wasn’t completely off-base. We should want to hear what our Representatives have to say, BUT THEN (unlike this woman who was clearly there to have her ‘opinion’ and what to believe is in the Bill, rather than what is actually in the Bill, handed/downloaded to her for absorption) we should take the things they have to say and compare them with the FACTS of what is in the/any Bill (checking up on them and if they are telling the truth) by examining all aspects of available information and specifically the Legislation itself! The order is, Listen, Examine, Determine who is telling the Truth, NOT: find the JackAss Party member, Listen, and Determine that anything else you hear/read must be wrong!

Unlike the Dingell Townhall there was no “MYTHS” versus Spun Responses they called “TRUTHS,” easily refuted by those that read the (HR3200) Bill (again: covered in some detail in: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda), Handout. Instead they left that to the ProBamaCare drones (in our “Movie” theme: ushers) outside before the Event for those that wanted it. The “materials” provided by Peters’ staff was an Agenda, Comment/Question Card for filling out by attendee for consideration during the event, and two local newspapers pieces: The Oakland Press - Guest Opinion: Forget the scare tactics, health care reform needed by Eric Schneidewind (Pres. AARP Michigan) which basically says (and Gary Peters echoed almost verbatim) Focus on the Good Things in the Bill and ignore the Bad and HC Reform should be passed in the name of Compromise. Compromise? With whom/what, we’ve had ZERO concerns compromised with it is all the same old Democrat Health-care TAKEOVER action plans since FDR… HillaryCare… ObamaCare… Now to be KennedyRemembrenceBillCare…. AND The Oakland Press: Editorial: Let’s lower our voices in the health-care debate which basically just took the “Nothing To See Here” Obama Administration line in regard to the Flag-whitehouse.gov is down, but are the unlawful (same old trickery) actions going on via WH:RealityCheck (hint: YES) fiasco.

The Liberal ObamaZombie (h/t: scarlos: Baracklash) looking to Download her “opinions” from her Congressman got her wish with the beginning of the Night, starting in usual Movie formula fashion by introducing us to all the Characters. The Star (of the Cast of Bad-actors) of the Show then provided the “Congressman Peters Introductory Remarks” (read: pre-tested Democrat Talking Points, complete with slides) to outline his “concerns” and that the Bill must address them:

• From 2000-2008 Michigan HC costs rose 17% faster than Wages and within 7 years a HC policy would cost a projected $24,000/year.
  BUT… Peters insisted you can keep your Insurance (and Doctor)
  My thoughts: of course implying you won’t want to!
• In 3 to 5 years 1 in 5 Employers will drop coverage (never said according to whose guess-timates)
  My thoughts: At another point he mentioned the UAW’s concerns for costs to members, of course meaning Democrats want Corporate Welfare for Automakers to benefit UAW members and help Automakers compete by passing their HC costs onto Taxpayers. Also, beyond the Big-3 desires to drop HC costs entirely, and especially when faced with over-burdening Tax increases to pay for this boondoggle, that amount will probably raise to 3 in 5 Employers dropping HC coverage for Employees. They (Democrats) wish to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy by driving employers toward the Public Option.
• Mr. Peters is looking to move to “Incentivize Good Outcomes” in HC.
  My thoughts: Of course, “out-comes pay” for Doctors but NOT for Teachers (they must continue to be compensated no matter how miserably they Fail) and as fellow RedState member DONTREADONME (one of my all time favorite quotes) said: “You can get vouchers for cars but not for schools” … In this case, “Affordability Credits” (as the language in the Slide showed us) but not for “School Vouchers” (credits). ’nuff said! It is the “Affordability Credits” that Democrats hang their half-truth about Illegal Aliens not being covered on (see comments).
• DEFICIT NEUTRAL to which the mixed response of Laughter and Grumbling was easily predictable, yet every Democrat tries to keep floating this nonsense. Further, of course, this was somehow going to be justified/off-set by Medicare [Cuts] Savings (no $$$ amount given, while other Townhalls $300-500 BILLION has been bandied about) YET/BUT somehow those “happy” with Medicare won’t see ANY changes to their Medicare Coverage.
  My thoughts: pure astonishment at this Basic Math question not adding up. If, as they promise, Fraud/Waste/Abuse can/could be removed from the system - Why not do that first?!?! Prove to us the Federal Govt. will for the first time in history reach a Budgetary Goal and maintain a promise. Further, and so simple ‘doh, if such savings could be achieved the UnInsured (30-45 Million, depending on how inflated they feel they can get away with those numbers) they insist exists could all have PRIVATE HC Policies purchased for them by the Govt. from those Savings! Lastly, Savings? Really? We’re to believe the Govt. will find some Savings? Another pointed quote: “Scientists Discover President Obama’s Budget Savings With Electron Microscope” melvinwinter, as if they would actually look let alone find some other than to just cut (Ration) peoples care!
• Pre-Existing Conditions
  My thoughts: Easy/No-Brainer, this one can be easily passed (see: A Teddy Kennedy HC Bill Republicans SHOULD SPONSOR) by a simple few page Bill adding to the countless Regulations already being dictated to HC Insurance providers. Michigan, already has a Law/Regulation that PROHIBITS denial on such grounds — enact that Nationally! That could/would get 100% unanimous consent/votes for passage.
• Denial Of Coverage, when attempting to Purchase coverage — in part, and most easily addressed, the portion of people losing their Insurance due to Loss Of Employment (on the rise due to Liberal policies).
  My thoughts: This could be addressed within the aspects of Amending the COBRA Laws rather than scraping the entire HC System for the 10-25 Million effected! Too simple, of course, and not in the interest of a complete takeover which is the real motive. At worst changes to UnEmployment dictates could be made (and paid for by the Federal Govt.) to cover (again, under COBRA modifications) the costs of people’s Private HC Insurance for up to 1 year of UnEmployment. But, again, it is NOT about covering people for “transition periods” it is all about HC TAKEOVER!
• To LIMIT higher Premiums based on Age/Gender.
  My thoughts: That’s called PRICE FIXING/CONTROLS (Socialism). Works so well and there is no Fraud/Waste/Abuse in “Rent Control” areas that exist as an easy example of how Govt. fails and creates yet more new problems than it solves at everything it claims to fix (unintended consequences). If we have to actually explain how “Insurance” (whether it be HC, Auto, Life, Dental, etc) is supposed to work there is just no sense bothering to talk to the Brain-dead ObaMoron - they can/could/should start: here (Actuaries). Goes to that Liberal Laziness, they just want spoon fed solutions without having to actually research, think, or even do anything, for themselves.
  The other aspect of this is Medical Savings Accounts reform (HSA/MSA), which Democrats were against the creation of in the first place and worked to keep them as restrictive as possible. Allowing people to save over time rather than having to “use or lose” on a yearly basis would let people save (PreTax) while Healthy for any such time they have a Health Care emergency and/or to pay for their own coverage (COBRA or otherwise) while between employment! Again, Democrats do NOT look to solve the particular issue, but use it as one excuse to scrap the whole system.

It didn’t appear that they had to bother with Planted questions (see: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda - a place to report the Dem’s Talking Points (read: Lies) and refute them with specifics and More HC Townhall Hi-jinks — More “Depends on the Definition of what ‘is’ is.) because NONE OF THE QUESTIONS honest folks have been, and still are, asking have ever been answered and therefore are continually asked over and over at every Townhall. The questions that we had to write out were collected and whisked off to be “supposedly” put into a box and then be chosen by random. This process was NOT done in front of us, which would have been simple to do to avoid any appearance of impropriety but it wasn’t. However, there was close to a 50/50 mix of Comments/Questions from both Proponents and Opponents. The Cards were not read but instead those chosen were called upon to come up from the audience to make the Comment or pose the Question - of course, anyone could then change from what they wrote to any Comment/Question they wanted - who knows if that provided any hanky-panky in that alone! The predictable and tested Democrat Talking Points were recited in response and some even had (conveniently) supporting Slides. The pre-screened Pelosi, Reid, Obama, approved responses can also be seen at the Whitehouse.gov Reality Check distortion page.

Those Slides contained a couple of lines from HR 3200 to be spun out of context from within the whole sub-sections of the Bill, let alone the overall 1,000+ page document - again, convenient. However, some of the Bold-face Lies were even easily caught if one paid attention to the carefully crafted language (those bouncing language between sub-sections and/or separate votes cast games touched on in: “extent possible” language and CRA, Sub-Prime crisis, Democrat de-regulation lies, etc.) displayed on-screen in even those few lines as they referred to this or that as it relates ONLY within that sub-section of the Bill - NOT to the whole Bill or Subject-matter.

No Slide for the part of the Bill (Section 441, Page 203, Lines 14-15) that states: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.” THAT IS THE EXACT LINE!!!! That is the kind of game being played, changing definitions in order to pretend it doesn’t mean what you know it says you just read (for those that bothered to read any of it). Again, see: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda for more specifics on what the Bill actually says and what Democrats choose to spin as MYTH versus TRUTH despite what the Bill has in it for all to see in print!

Also not unexpectedly missing were Slides for the TAXES and/or Costs that the Bill IMPOSES (NO CHOICE THERE) upon Individuals/Companies to pay for it or FEES/PENALTIES on top of those for non-compliance in these supposed “Choices!” I didn’t get a chance to have my Question asked: The ultimate HR3200 Q: Will Fetus’ about to be Aborted qualify for End Of Life counseling, or is that reserved only for Seniors about to be effectively Euthanized by/from Rationing?!?!, which is covered more in-depth in: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda

One Question that came up 3 times, in varying incarnations was basically a DEMAND FOR TORT REFORM, to which Peters dodged and danced despite being demanded to answer: YES OR NO, Will you support Amending the Bill to contain Tort Reform? His non-answer (refusal to say YES) was obvious that Peters holds the Howard Dean “No Trail Lawyers Left Behind” approach (Moe Lane’s Diary: Dean admits why there is No Tort Reform in ANY HC legislation) and returned each time to CONTROLLING COSTS at the Doctor/Coverage level. Protections for Lawyers, but not for Doctors.

In closing, I’d like to refer to a common theme on a few ProBamaCare signs invoking (what is supposedly) forbidden from Politics: Religion! Charity… Dear Brain-deads: Charity begins at Home and is giving NOT Extortion (Extortion, pure and simple (to raise taxes or avoid/enact legislation)) via the Power of Government. Giving from one’s own holdings rather than reaching into someone else’s pocket-book to give to others. That is NOT CHARITY, it is SOCIALISM - Liberal Brain-dead ObaMorons can’t grasp that basic concept/definition!

The same target with the moving bad sales pitches: It’s about Health Care… then it’s about Savings… then it’s about “the Children”… changed to the Poll tested “Insurance Reform”…. then it’s about Moral obligations…. back to Savings…. back again to “Shut up, I WON!” — but it has always been about HillaryCare (not even rewarmed, served COLD) being shoved down the throats of Americans which was nothing more than the boilerplate of designs on a Health Care Takeover for Liberal Government control they have had designs/plans on since FDR.

What about Dental coverage?!?! After all, Health begins with the Mouth as we keep hearing in the Dentistry care Ads!! Where is my FREE Dental Care?!?! Since everyone dies eventually, where is my Govt. Life Insurance, since they have always been going to Cradle to Grave dependence on Government!?!? Oh yeah, that $500, or so, from Social Security as a Death benefit - so the point there, of course, it is a precedent already!!!

But I wander off into the next excuses for Liberals to Buy votes with the Government “supposed freebies” they will promise. This is about the scams/shams being perpetrated upon Americans under the guise of Townhalls. Some of the same basic dodges (as discussed in the prequel: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda - a place to report the Dem’s Talking Points (read: Lies) and refute them with specifics Diary - update: joined by, in this expanding series: HC Townhall: Like Hollywood, Democrats used new Actors to replay the same Script., HC Townhalls: Steny Hoyer (D-MD) edition., HC Mandates - How ’bout some others? Welfare Warranty? College Coverage?, and HC issues summary.) are still being repeated, but Senators are trying some new techniques of referring to “POTENTIAL” Senate Legislation THAT DOES NOT YET EXIST IN CONSIDERATION (read, want to make/amend it as they go) while their House Congress-creeper counterparts shift to hiding behind the safety of a TELE-CONFERENCE Dog-and-Pony charade (with same basic planted questions/order).

It is a shame, but there are many Americans that still don’t get it when it comes to a Democrat speaking. How one has to pay close attention to the carefully crafted wording and/or sentence structure and parse it accordingly to get to the root of their DODGE. We are right back to “It depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is” that Bill Clinton so boldly let us know the truth behind the Democrat lies, distortions, and dodges, by re-framing questions to be what they want them to be rather than what they are/were, selectively re-defining terms on the fly, etc. Even though Bill admitted it, some still have yet to grasp the Democrat GAME! But, because of “Liberal Laziness” they still get away with it with some (far too many).

To you Democrat Politicians I say: “You have not fooled us Conservatives for a long time. We can easily parse your carefully constructed sentence structures to build a DODGE (read: LIE). How you say you don’t support something that everyone can read for themselves is in a Bill YOU DO SUPPORT yet try to convince folks is only a figment of their imagination!” Again, we know you are playing the “depends on the definition of ‘is’ is” game. Or, how you want to pretend you do not support certain provisions, but will in the end VOTE FOR THEM anyway (Yea vote for the Bill with all those things you claimed to abhor) as part of the need for “progress” and supporting the President or other non-sense.

As I raised in (the prequel comment section) my favorite question is: “Will Fetus’ about to be Aborted qualify for ‘End Of Life’ counseling or is that only reserved for Seniors about to be effectively Euthanized by Rationing?” Of course, the question has obvious flaws but it very much sums up, in one quick easy fashion, all the points most wrong with HR3200 (and as we all know, any Bill they will attempt to ram through or put back in Conference/reconciliation).

For those who still don’t “get” how the “definition of ‘is’ is” game/dodge and planting questions (straw-man) for easy dismissal works - I guess we’ll have to spell out a few examples. As pointed out by penguin2 (here) I should deal with this in terms of the Life-cycle - Abortion, Rationing, then Euthanasia (ARE - if someone can help work that into a slogan/sign, I’ve thought EAR as in lend my your ear but it doesn’t follow the life-cycle, anyway).

Planted Question #1 (or dodge to genuine concern over) ABORTION. You can hear it around any Townhall, “I hear Abortions will be paid for from MY tax-dollars!?!?” — Carefully crafted dodge is based on the FACT that nowhere directly in the Bill does the plan EXPLICITLY STATE that funds will be allocated for that purpose. However, nor does it for anything else get listed for “explicitly authorized” funding in the HC plans. However, anyone/everyone knows that Democrats deem “Reproductive Services” (Planned Parenthood code-words for ABORTION SERVICES) within the realm of Women’s HC. Abortions will be a approved/covered “PROCEDURE” in the name of HC coverage for women through any/all other separate Regulations HHS (and other Govt. Departments, all filled with LIFETIME EMPLOYEE’S THAT ARE LIBERAL) will be responsible for creating/maintaining under the authority of the Bill (part of that, kick the can down to other Liberals dodge they’ve used for decades).

Planted Question #2 (or dodge to genuine concern over) RATIONING of care. Do we really need to cover this one? Even Democrats are now admitting this is “effectively” in the Bill (by trying to dismiss the concern by saying “well, HC is rationed now by your HC Insurance providers”) while it does NOT explicitly state it with that specific term with that word - and that is, of course, the basis of the dodge. Dingell: “There is NO rationing in the Bill!” - yep, again, dodge, the word “ration” does indeed NOT appear in the Bill, but the “effective equivalence” of it is by way of (or in the name of) “reducing costs.”

Listen Idiots (oops, I need to be nice to our Liberal fools) Listen friend… Whether cost cutting means directly reducing funds available to pay for any particular patients’ particular “need” being paid for (therefore, coverage denied) is only one aspect. If monies are NOT available for the Doctors, facilities, supplies, drugs, equipment, etc, necessary to cover ever increasing demands/needs on the system - RATIONING will effectively imposed whether it is called “RATIONING” or not!

Further, DENIAL of coverage is Rationing! John Dingell ADMITTED coverages would be denied if one doesn’t qualify for “covered/approved conditions” (above and beyond bothering to go into the Democrats demagogue the “Pre-existing Conditions” arguments when their own Bill EXCLUDES some conditions) in his response at his Townhall to Mike Sola about his Sons Cerebral Palsy. Details on that exchange (and picked up by news media of Sola in Dingell’s face at that Townhall all over the country) are in: Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda - a place to report the Dem’s Talking Points (read: Lies) and refute them with specifics. Dingell ADMITS the Rationing by informing us that he has AN AMENDMENT to “correct” (as he put it) the (I guess were to believe what is an) oversight?!?!?

Further still, you have right of appeal with your Insurance company, which you will NOT have with Liberal Death Panel Committee members deciding your Grand-Parents’ care!!!! You ultimately have the Legal outlet, if all else fails, TO FILE SUIT against your Insurance company to have costs reimbursed if you had to proceed with treatments they tried to block (more on this important point further on in this Diary regarding “per-capita HC spending”). The Federal Legislation PROTECTS the Government boards/panels/committees (whatever they ultimately call them) by exempting them from being challenged in the Courts. One of those other little details the Democrats avoid discussing that is in the Bill!!!

Planted Question #3 (or dodge to genuine concern over) EUTHANASIA. Easy response for this question is “NO!” Obviously, the word does NOT appear anywhere close to the language in this Bill. The question is addressing the actual intent/concern of the question/questioner and we all know the Democrats WILL NOT DO SO! They simply want to set-up the Straw-man, hit the easy denial, and completely avoid the language we all have read for ourselves. But it is always the buzzword question they can easily dismiss that lands up as the question and/or they will dismiss others with a more direct questioning of the language in the Bill as “having already addressed that about …” Abortion, Rationing, Euthanasia, etc… Lives will be lost while waiting for Care, just like in any/every other SOCIALIZED MEDICINE SYSTEM on which the Democrats have been trying to move us towards for decades - ‘a pile of dung by any other name, still stinks as bad’ (or something like that, the original quote had something to do with a Rose lol).

Have you still sleeping folks not grasped how this game is being played by the Democrats YET!?!? If you did not read that last paragraph, go look at that if nothing else! The only way you cannot “get it” yet is because you want to, and willfully and malice of fore-thought, remain Politically Brain-dead (see: Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead) so you can continue stumbling/coasting through life without actually caring about what happens to fellow Americans. That old saying about being Open Minded but not to the point where ones Brains fall out comes to mind. It is that “Liberal Laziness” that they want the JackAss Party to just be able to download the Talking Points directly to them to let them know what their thoughts/opinion should be - regardless of truth/facts easily recognizable to anyone that would take just a few minutes to look! Pretending to care, while never having to really do anything about anything by pushing it off onto Government, is NOT caring it is AVOIDANCE of Moral/Personal responsibilities.

“Effective equivalence” is a Legal concept (though not in my/that exact phrasing) that is accepted and (while I could go into examples, I won’t as this Diary is getting long enough already, but) most easily recognized/applied in Negligent Homicide and/or Manslaughter cases. This is NOT a new concept I’ve put forth and we thereby fully understand that Rationing, Euthanasia, and those so-called “Death Panels” exists (in basic principle) within the HR3200 Bill. No matter how carefully the Democrats try to craft the language they use in dodging the issues!

Even if TRUE, which the Democrats’ dodges and distortions of the issues ARE NOT, let us concede for just a moment that all that rotten stuff is removed from the current Bill. Two words: LIBERAL INCREMENTAL-ISM! The tried and true method by which they bypass the will of the people (Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead) and enact the next piece of their “fundamentally changing” America (as Obama out-rightly admits openly) the next time you are NOT looking. But, again, even if true - we know the Democrat BAIT-AND-SWITCH M.O. (for our Brain-dead Liberal friends, that is: Modus operandi, not an abbreviation for Missouri); piece-meal forced (non-germane) approach (like adding things to War Funding Bills that has nothing to do with it to sneak in HC boards like they did in the Stimulus package, Climate $cam, Dem. Money Laundering (PC excuses to $pend), etc) attachments; as well as the “extent possible” language dodge; the Conference Committees reconciliation process; or by other/future Amendment; etc.

It gets tiring covering the extent by which Democrats convoluted the processes to pass their harmful agenda unto Americans, ugh! That is, of course, overly complicated by design to hide their intent/goals. Tiring too is gathering/providing all these cross-references, but I will continue to provide drill-down sub-links to lead to bolstered/additional arguments/materials for our “Liberal Laziness” friends to have no excuse to not be able to find/read it and have the chance to learn for themselves!

The latest Senate Democrats’ tactics was put on display at a Claire McCackle (D-MO - yes, that is Missouri this time lol, and yes the spelling incorrect but intentional) event. The CINO/PLINO Democrat (Red-Dogs, RINOs, CINOs, DINOs, PLINOs, and Blue-Dogs, oh my… The Political Zoo - what/who are they?) tried to dodge the issues/concerns over what is in the HR3200 Bill (THE ONLY ONE STILL ACTUALLY ENTERED INTO CONSIDERATION IN THE CONGRESS) by claiming to support a Senate Bill that doesn’t exist, but they want us to believe is coming soon (see: Gang of Sicks (er… Six) - The Senate HC “Gang Of Sicks” (formerly 7, but Hatch left and that didn’t have the fun play on words)). Obama has been pulling this same dodge referring to “His Plan” (Obama’s “My HC plan” Lie - Obama’s HC dodge, quoting a non-existent and/or not in consideration Plan) that no-one can read because it exists (in ever changing form, depending on his audience at any given time) only in Obama’s empty head!

Claire conveniently insists; while trying to put off folks with “Don’t you Trust me?” dismissals, as you’ve probably already seen video on that unanimous response of NO; that she does NOT support those things to which we object (like Abortions being funded with Tax dollars, Rationing, Death Panels, etc [see those previous planted questions discussion here-in]) in anything passed by the Senate. Again, gets tiring repeating the Democrat M.O., when we all know it will just (not so) magically/mysteriously re-appear in a Final Bill’s passage from reconciliation.

It is pure Bait-and-Switch. It is the usual dodge of setting up Multiple Votes - the “Vote Shell Game.” Yet so many people do not get how they pull this so as to go back to their Districts and CLAIM to oppose something and point to one Vote, while to another audience claim to support the exact same thing being able to point to another Vote they cast - while, all the while, advancing the Radical Left-wing agenda items (whether it be in the name of the ObamAgenda: the 14 Legislative agenda items (and other things) Obama wants to distract from or under any other Democrats’ name). A direct example of this dodge/tactic is covered in this: CRA (and the de-regulation lies) Diary over the whole sub-prime/Mortgage-meltdown the Democrats brought upon the country. The simple examples and explanation of how they distort their “promises” over what they “actually vote for” and get passed exists right there and there is no longer any excuse for any American to not understand how to recognize it and call their Democrat Representative on the CINO/PLINO lies they tell during their Campaigns.

The latest way the House Democrats are staging the HC events is TELE-TOWNHALLS!!!! My House Representative, Democrat Carolyn Cheeks-TheCrookAndKwamesMommy-Kilpatrick not only pulled this stunt but took it one further. Supposedly random Calls to constituents within her District were placed without forewarning (yeah right, as if her SEIU, ACORN, etc, cronies didn’t know when the calls would be STAGED) so this would be somehow “FAIR” I suppose. ROTFLMAO - really?!?! Oh Please! My call came on Wednesday August 12th at 19:05 and, as expected, the questions we were going to be allowed to ask following the Democrat Propaganda (again, actual Myth/Facts specifics covered in: Townhall HC distortions/propaganda Diary and more coverage in HC Townhall: Like Hollywood, Democrats used new Actors to replay the same Script.) were screened for content.

I spoke about these fiascoes with John McCulloch on WJR 760 AM Detroit while he was filling in for Frank Beckmann (Local a.m. guy who has been covering the HC debacle at length for us all) and he noted about being on one of Kilpatricks calls. He noted how they, no doubt recognizing him, didn’t allow him to ask a question (out-right rejected his question even when they insisted on pre-screening what he wanted to ask). Is there anyone on the planet that could possibly think these weren’t all carefully staged and controlled forums to maximize the Democrat Propaganda?!?!? Oh sure, they wanted to “fairly” reach more people - doing so only to ensure they got it to the masses in the way that further distorts WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN THE BILL in order to garner support from/by the easily fooled Politically Brain-dead!

Doctors unnecessarily Amputating peoples feet to collect $30,000 coverage!! You’ve had to be hiding under a rock to not have heard Obama’s last attempts to demonize Doctors and/or Health Insurance providers. That is the latest, after his prior ‘Doctors will say, hey… I can get more if I pull a patients’ Tonsils’ boondoggle remark. Regardless that the $30k amount is also fraudulent representation, it is at best an admittance that ObamaCare will NOT cover Services based on what is best to save a patients’ LIFE but on pre-defined OUTCOMES and/or PRE-APPROVED PRACTICES that Democrats/Liberals will define and NOT be between you and your Doctor (and family), but more-so a complete separation from reality to demonize Doctors to convince folks to scrap the entire HC system for ALL in the name of covering only an additional few Million people. We Republicans/Conservatives, of course, have (also for decades) wanted to actually SOLVE some the issues/concerns but Democrats/Liberals have blocked at every turn our attempts to do so without destroying all HC in the U.S. - because it is NOT their goal to fix anything but to entirely put HC in America under the control of Liberal Democrats!!!!

Lastly, and certainly not least, the HEALTH CARE COSTS/EXPENDITURES PER-CAPITA distortion! I’ve heard this addressed by a few folks, but not in print (my apologies to anyone that may/does have a Diary covering this that I may not have seen yet, please feel free to cross-reference your Diary in any comments you make at this Diary). Simply, there is NO COMPARISON because other Nations with Socialized Medicine have RATIONING, has fixed costs, have NO RIGHT OF APPEAL, are dying while they wait for care (that works wonderfully as a method to keep costs down, but do we want that here too?), etc…

The biggest distortion of these figures comes from the basic fact that in the United States you can have an Elected Procedure done at locations of your choosing without anyones permission!!!! With Socialized Medicine Systems YOU CANNOT GET ANY SERVICE IF YOU ARE NOT DEEMED QUALIFIED FOR IT - REGARDLESS. No appeals, no working around it even if you want to pay for it, NO CHANCE - because the waiting list for whatever procedures, cures, drugs, options, etc, you may want are reserved for those “with permission” for the covered/qualified persons!

That is why people come from all over the World to receive HC in the U.S. and we have Choice (and that high per-capita amount, discussed elsewhere). You can still “Elect” to get Care, which will abruptly end (for any coverage at any amount someone would be willing to pay of their own monies) in the near future - if you do NOT have Govt. authorization, you/anyone WILL NOT GET CARE! The Bill forbids it because it is “unfair” (except for those Special Political Class types, as they exempt themselves from the Laws) to those that will be on the waiting-lists for said procedures - PERIOD!

It is comparing (Adams) Apples to Monkey Butts or Legs to Automobiles. It is comparing some of Pelosi’s Botox treatments (as included in that Health Care spending per-captia) to your Life hanging in the balance needing a Liver transplant (and I have a friend in the V.A. Hospital waiting on just that). Someone paying for Cosmetic surgery (whether under an Insurance plan or paying for it themselves), is still part of the overall Costs per-capita distortion they are making, does not relate to someone needing Heart surgery — and under other Socialized Medicine Systems (which will WITHOUT QUESTION EVENTUALLY HAPPEN HERE under these plans put into motion) someone may not get in time because of the waiting list or the cost not deemed worth the patients age and worth to society and therefore just put on a few Pills. Obama said it out of his own mouth that “perhaps some should just be given a Pill!”

Since examples and REAL solutions could be outlined on and on, I’ll open it up now for comments as this has gotten really long already. I do try to be thourough.

Their answers/comments must be carefully parsed to seperate the fact and fiction parts, but it is easy to do once you are aware of what they are doing and listening! Howard Dean tried to hang all the HC lies on the one grain of truth he threw out at a Townhall, as covered in Moe Lane’s: Howard Dean: No tort reform for fear of trial lawyers, said “Tort reform is not in the Bill - the people who wrote it do not want to take on the Trail Lawyers.” An obvious truth/fact we all knew, as Democrats are the Party of Trial Lawyers (for just one Special interest), as that grain of truth, to bamboozle many that he is “speaking all truthes,” to go on and try and pass the lies that followed from their mouths.

PSS: It is a shame this has to even be said and an example like this needs to be spelled out but… There is a Rep., and I’ll kindly just leave out his name to keep this a generic “lesson.” Despite many many many Townhalls already held in regard to the HR3200 (HC) Bill and weeks of Public debate, he “claims” that he doesn’t know whether or not he Supports/Opposes the Bill. That is, of course, a dodge to cover he is NOT WITH the overwhelming Public sentiment against the Bill. If he doesn’t know what is so offensive that the Bill must be defeated, if things are not unacceptable at this point then it is obvious he will be willing and is going to vote FOR the Bill, then it is clear he is just attempting to bamboozle yet more of the Politically Brain-deads that abound. That there hasn’t been sufficient examples already of these tactics for people to have yet figured this out is beyond me!

Getting through that DENIAL with enough of, what so many of us recognize as obvious, truths to advance them to the ANGER stage can be a delicate trick. There are many in that ANGER phase and they are showing up at the HC Townhalls (Democrat Health Care Townhall propaganda - a place to report the Dem’s Talking Points (read: Lies) and refute them with specifics and sequel HC Townhall hi-jinks continue) and expressing it (along-side us). While the MSM tries to downplay it, many are Lifelong Democrats expressing concerns - as was the case I loved seeing (sorry, no I don’t have a link handy) one Democrat yelling at his Democrat Congresscreeper when he tried to dismiss him as some “fringe Republican” with “I’m a registered Democrat, but I recognize a LIAR when I see one” referring to the Democrat Congressman.

We have to continue reach them on HC (Harry & Louise want you to pay for their Head examinations?, Senate HC “Gang Of Sicks”, Obama’s HC dodge, quoting a non-existent and/or not in consideration Plan, Townhall propaganda, The ultimate HR3200 Q: Will Fetus’ about to be Aborted qualify for End Of Life counseling, or is that reserved only for Seniors about to be effectively Euthanized by/from Rationing?!?!), $timulus/Debt, Climate $cam, as well as additional ObamAgenda items - So, What does Obama NOT want you paying attention to? - revisited/updated: current Distractions. It is, though, and somewhat unfortunately, up to us to continue to be engaged in order to help bring them along. We hate to admit to ourselves (Conservatives) that some of our fellow Conservatives got a tad lazy and unengaged (thinking a much deserved breath could be taken) and Republicans drifted and we didn’t bring more people to the Light!

Remember the Edmund Burke quote: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing…. As for that ACCEPTANCE, we’ll get to that phase later.

These thoughts really began here about Hillary (as there are some PUMA’s that somehow think Hillary is really different/better), onto Holder and others, but is really about all Democrats of course. The discussion wasn’t about just Hillary or Holder, but had an underlying implication how there are many still thinking there are some in that JackAss Party that would not be as bad as others (which we’ll dispel that myth in this Diary). It is about all Democrats, but morons not able to look at them and know that all of that lot of Democrats are as bad, has always been pathetically only concerned about their own power and never solving anything, and always will be. There is NEVER any Democrat (How electing ANY Democrat empowers the antithesis of Conservatism, the Ultra-Far-Left Progressive/Socialist/Democrats - Blue-Dogs we’ll touch on later) that people should allow themselves to think worthy of voting for (my point of what we must get through some peoples Politically Thick Skulls and those few that have briefly opened their eyes that we must teach/reach/etc) as they just empower the Ultra-Lefts in that Party.

How do so many not realize that ObamaCare is really just HillaryCare rewarmed and that HillaryCare was nothing more than a dust off of mostly boiler-plate Progressive plans to takeover and put HC under full Government control for Decades as a natural “progression” from Social Security and then Welfare. No matter how “Moderate” (or even semi-Conservative) any Democrat may sound during a Campaign they Rule Ultra-Left SOCIALIST and don’t give one wit about maintaining (or working within) the frame-work of the Constitution.

As for Republicans, I really don’t care whether they “feel it” or not but that they “get it” enough to perform properly. It can be for their own best-interest, just as long as they get it is Conservative positions that gets them elected and what is right (yes, double play word pun) for the Country (as discussed in: Conservative Candidates (the Diary) and Republicans must be the Party of HELL NO [to Bigger Govt.] not the Party of SLOW[er Liberal Incremental-ism] ).

I have felt the frustration expressed by so many, have felt it my whole life, and attempted to battle the liberal laziness running for office myself to push the Conservative message (you can see all that in my profile. This isn’t about me of course, or you even as an individual reader, but if you want to know where I come from I provide some background and you can “judge” my “cred” if you wish). While we are frustrated, and I know we are angry and don’t really want to hear this, but we aren’t going to further awaken the political brain-dead if we go at them in the wrong manner. If only those lazy morons that can’t/won’t involve themselves in bothering to pay attention enough to learn the truth on their own behalf would also NOT VOTE we’d be okay, but they do vote and we must continue to deliver the truth.

It is NOT as if any of this has been different for a Century. Liberalism has always looked to Incrementally inject their agenda at “fundamentally changing” America (as Obama, one honest thing, has said)…. The early 20th Century moved slower but got Progressively (yes, pun intended) worse to the break-neck speed and uncaring how overt they are in the LIES they are willing to tell to have unwitting-dupes pulling the JackAss lever while not (honestly, in their minds) expecting to get more and more and more of that Radical agenda. They’ve gotten great help/cover, of course, from the MSM every modern Election (see: MSM bias (how they lay groundwork to help shape, rather than report on, Elections) and Voting Psychology (Bandwagon and other effects)).

IT IS SO DARN OBVIOUS these days (with so many, McCackle (MO) I call her and even the Clintons/Obama overtly lying and attempting to “speak semi-Conservative”) putting on an Act just to get elected. Dealing with the whole “Blue-Dog” Myth (covered in: Red-Dogs, RINOs, CINOs, DINOs, PLINOs, and Blue-Dogs, oh my… The Political Zoo - what/who are they?). HOW CAN THESE FOLKS NOT SEE IT! Even paying zero attention, they show up all over and their words never match their actions so much so that the MSM cannot fully cover for them….

These/that, of course, are the things we must (try to politely to get through) teach them and bring them along to Political Adulthood from the Childishness of Liberal-think.

I was speaking with a neighbor, life-long family friend, and we discussed just this topic. The frustrations we have with Family members! Again, deep (lessening a little over the last decade, but still) Blue District and how we’ve practically had to disown some Family - we will of course always love them but dealing with them is another thing. People have simply been indoctrinated, without any real consideration, to being Democrats over Generations. Many still fail, because they just don’t/won’t pay attention (Liberal Laziness) that the JackAss Party is NOT the same as it was under the leadership of JFK and has grown further and further from their Ideals since then. My Family has ALWAYS held Conservative principles, but I was the first to stand up and identify myself as a “Conservative” politically and to become a Republican! It has taken a long time to turn many - all because it is easier to coast by under the delusion than to have to pay attention and use their own eyes to see, their own brain to think with, etc…

For those a little further along the curve and dealing with the ACCEPTANCE of how they’ve been in denial for so long… we can help them to understand how they’d been duped by pointing them to The “Pretend you’re a Liberal MSM reporter (and Spin the story)” Challenge so they can come to grips with how it was/is they’ve been so BLIND with so many trying to keep them that way.

I am in an ultra-left District, and therefore as I’ve already said, felt this frustration my entire life. It has taken decades to bring some along to the Light and while it sucks it is partly our jobs to help them OR (if not) we just concede to the other side that we know employs the time, energy, tactics, etc (ACORN, the Union’s leaderships, etc) to bamboozle them. It has to be countered, and we cannot be as bad/lazy as Liberals and just expect others to do it. We have to be involved, in at least some ways to reach those (we know to be otherwise) complete idiots. We also have the trouble of BLUE-ism expanding out into Red areas that we must keep our own side properly motivated and engaged in in order to make sure Red Districts/States don’t slip.

I could go on and on, but folks either get it or don’t… and it is up to those of us that “get it” to “get through” somehow to those that don’t. Access to information/truth (best persuasive arguments) is easier than ever before with all the links (here at RedState alone), and that was/is my overall point - we have to get it all in front of them and hopefully get them caring enough to be motivated to seek it for themselves.

We must continually take our best evidence and/or arguments forward to them in covering how Liberal “intentions” always lead to worse conditions (not solving any “issue”) with the endless unintended consequences (Democrats always ignore) because they always fail to fully examine their Progressive legislation thoroughly. For some of those now awake, we can point them back to 2008 Election Issues recap [with links] (or some Recommended diaries) and how the truth was always right there in front of them of what Democrats/Liberals want to do TO America rather than FOR Americans had they paid attention (and should now review so they won’t be fooled again).

Those Brain-dead vote, and many of them are moving as this bad economy shifts where some jobs are (the Jobs creations are in Red States and people flee the Blue States to there to get the jobs)…

Exporting/Expanding BLUE-ism, shaping Elections to come.:

PSS: One-liner Political jabs

using one liners to get people to think (one-liner quotes/jabs) are important, as it’s all about the Marketing and getting the messages out/through. The Demoncrats are good at Parroting slogans (often, involving out-right Lies), and sticking them in peoples Brains (especially Politically Brain-dead folks). We have to be better and more clever than them and keep coming up with new/fresh comments to stick in people’s craws.

We know they are NOT going to listen to our giving them the FACTS, so we have to have the cute, quick, brief, piffy, comments that despite themselves might stick in their Dead-Brain-matter and fester. Enough of those using one liners to get people to think (one-liner quotes/jabs) can add up over time and help to awaken some (Optimism and Faith in, at least, several of the Brain-deads who didn’t bother to vote to wake up at least). Seeing more and more one-liner quotes in siglines warms my heart, but we need to be using them out in the streets and/or on our TEApeats signs (Congress - Here’s Your Sign) we are making headway and a difference!!!

The one-liner jab gets through where a longer argument is never going to be entertained. They have to have their self-awakening and discovery, then they’ll come back to us (mostly via RedState) to tune into what they hadn’t been paying attention to and continue that Road To Recovery from their DENIAL. We cannot (unfortunately) force them, they have to come willingly!!

We cannot allow this story to end here with their tacit (implied/silent) admission of a “mistake” but, of course, no admission of wrong-doing.

The seriousness of the allegations demand an Independent Investigation and explanation? Remember that “STANDARD” as set by Democrats!?!? So, when will the Emails, Address Lists, etc, be turned over to the FBI for Investigation as to the questions that are outstanding and will be pointed out in this Diary.

First, the background: I’m an IT guy and it was my career/profession for 25 years!!! There are many other “IT” folks here at RedState and we know full well this stinks to high heaven from an IT basic practices standpoint alone as well as all those pesky little Laws.

Having heard all the reports and read many of the discussions on the topic, I decided to report myself to (Flag@wh), appears I was one of the last to get it through as the address is now no longer valid.

I reported one of my email addresses by using/sending through another one of my email addresses lol…. (CC’ing a few folks with it) knowing that the Law required them to keep it on file and wanting to see if they were still STUPID enough to still be adding people’s email addresses sent in to receive their unsolicited/unwanted SPAM (a, thanks for sending to flag@… blah, blah, blah, of course, would be an acceptable/reasonable COURTESY but anything beyond that) and (if no other reason) to have in their permanent files (if they are NOT just ignoring that law) my objections to the HC BS I sent my entire RS Diary (Democrat Health Care Townhalls propaganda - a place to report the Democrats’ Talking Points (read: Lies) and refute them with specifics) as in-line text. They, it appears, stopped the practice of mining the email addresses of enemies (or, at least, stopped sending things out to those added to whatever list) at that point as I hadn’t received anything back as acknowledgement to the one email for writing into flag@wh or the other email address I was “reporting.” Nor had I received any response to the “supposed” misinformation there-in.

The trouble, of course, is we are still not getting the follow-up needed to pressure the questioning of whether they are obeying the law and maintaining the emails on file and getting to the real (obvious) truth that regardless of how the emails were sent/forwarded to flag@wh they violated so many other laws by mining the email addresses from those sent in and compiled to (whatever they want to call) a list we all know (through others experiencing it first hand unsolicited returns) they compiled.

This story is NOT complete and pressure must be kept up to get the answers to those (some follow) questions!!!! A couple (at least) real questions remain…

1. REGARDLESS, of the BS excuses as to how the WH wishes to SPIN how the emails landed up at/on the Flag@wh email server…. HOW did (and who specifically did it - Campaign workers or Federal Govt employees or automated data-mining reader program) the email addresses get mined?!?!?!

2. TO WHAT LIST were those email addresses mined added to?!?!? Specifically!!! What is the complete list, where/who maintains it, who has access to send propaganda out via it?!?!?!

3. What Agency will be leading the Investigation?!?! PROVE that the WH is obeying the Law that all correspondence sent to the WH, including via email (ON THIS OFFICIAL WH GOVT. SERVER) is being maintained!!!!! Provide access to all the emails for review!!!!! Let those who have been SPAMMED now be able to search/review (on their own or via FBI INVESTIGATION) in what manner their email address was “SHARED” with the WH?!?!?!

Keep sending your “concerns” to FOX (the only Network challenging the ObamaBinBiden admin on their violations of Federal Law in these regards) to keep asking the unresolved questions. They cannot just be let off the hook now because they stopped SPAMMING, for now, and shutdown the site. LAWS HAVE BEEN BROKEN IN ONE SHAPE OR ANOTHER AND WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW — WHAT DID THEY KNOW AND WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT???

What shenanigans will be going on with the whitehouse.gov/realitycheck page?? I have gone to the propaganda page and clicked the “contact” link to pass my thoughts along, like I did via email to flag@whitehouse.gov — interesting interaction thus far…

First, I put in my information and I clicked the “I want a response” (as well as the sign-up for emails) check-box and await response(s) which I’ll come back and add concerns regarding via a comment response into the Diary as we go along (so keep checking back and/or report your own interactions here).

What is really interesting, however, is that when I submitted the information the “verification box” (reCAPTCHA) DIDN’T WORK!! That’s right, that “extra step” they insist they are taking didn’t work. I accidentally (very fortuitously) got an extra letter in one of the words that I was required to put in YET it didn’t error. I was taken directly to the “Thank You” exit page!!! I went back and did other comments to test it and it doesn’t matter what you put in!!! (last tested 8/18 14:35EST Thu. Aug. 20 00:15EST)

So there care and/or supposed concern is BOGUS!!!

They dodge, and we have to ask AGAIN!

The real “Astroturf,” which I will now hereby name “Crab Grass,” comes from the Left, of course. “Crab Grass?” Yep, it infests/infects the Grassroots (that otherwise really wouldn’t exist, which is why they have to manufacture it and try to label our efforts as ‘phony’ to deflect from what they do), just like the real Crab Grass detracts from your nice Kentucky Bluegrass Lawn. Or perhaps they are Grubs? eating away at the (Grass) roots of the Lawn!?!?

As for the Dingbat Townhall, before I get into the specific propaganda — Was about the same old tired script… There were thousands lined up all the way out and around the outside of the building far more than would fit the room of a few hundred people and, of course, mis-reported by several of the local newscasts I watched specifically to see how they would slant it (Fox 2 local WJBK, was the only one that challenged Dingell in an Interview following it directly).

SEIU shirted thugs abounded and the first several rows of seats were filled (let in another entrance) before the rest of the crowd was let in (several easily identified “pro Health Care extortion” were pulled from line directly behind me and paraded (right before our eyes) in another door - sure enough, they were up there in the front 3 rows of seats.

The fiasco began with the usual… an AARP hack went on for 5 minutes about why they were for Health Care Reform but addressed NOTHING in regard to “this particular ‘reform.’” They then had an attendee give the sob story of how HER UNIVERSITY EMPLOYER didn’t give her coverage, but they refused to say what University when it the Question was asked (wonder what State she was shipped in from) nor any answer to why she isn’t out protesting her UNIVERSITY demanding they pay for her coverage.

The only honest/unscripted moment occurred (and Video picked up by Foxnews Live Desk) when a man (Mike Sola and his wife) there with their Son (Scott), wheel-chair bound (so he was able to get in to the front - where Democrats, no doubt, expect that anyone Disabled would be Pro Takeover and Handouts), demanded his question (on behalf of his Son) be answered. He demanded to know why his son with Cerebral Palsy would NOT be able to receive any aid/help under the Bill.

Dingell caught off-guard and reeling let slip truth about rationing and/or denial of care with his answer. Dingbat told him he sponsored AN AMENDMENT to the Bill to correct the problem. WOW! If there is no RATIONING of what and/or whom is covered - why would any amendment be needed and why/how was this “condition” excluded?!?! This was/is in direct contradiction to the propaganda handout item #2 “Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed.” Their refutation, “In no way does this section stipulate the rationing of care.” If there are NO DENIALS OR RATIONING OF CARE there would have been no need for an Amendment to the Bill to address an exclusion!!!

Another obvious careful choice of wording to avoid the Bill’s truth was when a question about “Euthanasia.” OBVIOUSLY the word is NOT represented in the Bill and allows for them to DENY it could/would occur under the Bill. The Truth, of course, is that “rationing” can/may/will lead to that in effect by denial of treatments. But back to the top of the meeting….

Then Dingbat went into his pre-approved Talking points we’ve seen/heard in YouTube video time after time almost verbatim. Followed by questions collected from the audience, which of course, meant they all came from the folks they pre-loaded into the front of the room (important to note, they did an exact repeat of the same questions, in the same exact order, in the 2nd session [I stayed for both to report to RedStaters] they added to accommodate more of the folks that showed up, but still not all were able to get in and another date TBD was promised to be announced) with the predictable repeating of the propaganda points - to which those of us having more knowledge about the Bill than Dingell had NO OPTION but to yell out the Section and Page number that directly refuted their false contention about what they want to lead people into believing the Bill says rather than what it says.

I spoke on camera with Gibsons’ crew, but who knows if they’ll use any of it or try to distort the context (I tried to be concise to avoid any chance of it, which makes me think they’ll just not use any of it). I also spoke with WJR AM 760 (without whom most would still not have known anything about the event happening as we called into the local shows to report how Dingell’s own website DID NOT advertise the event in order to keep the turnout down to only the SEIU, AARP sellouts, and other cronies), Fox 2 WJBK News, and Detroit Public Radio, as well as the Detroit (NOT SO) Free Press. The local ABC station (WXYZ ch 7) didn’t even pretend to care to interview anyone but those with PRO-Socialised Medicine signs and/or Dingbat signs and went out of their way to play the “Mob” Democrat script from the DNC.

People did shout out questions and responses (pointed out each time what page of HIS OWN SPONSORED BILL he was lying in reference to for anyone actually paying attention to review the facts over the BS). There was no other way for the supposed “dialogue” and/or feedback to the Congresscreeper and their intent to ensure it went that way was obvious.

There was a great moment that the crowd erupted into laughter when Dingbat tried to float the notion that this will all be REVENUE NEUTRAL.

As for a couple of specifics from the Dingbat Townhall…

The first myth or issue the Democrat Talking Points wanted to address was:

“Page 22: Mandates audits of all employers that self-insure!”

TRUTH: This is not an “audit,” it’s a study….

No sense bothering to go on further with that one. Simple point one is when did the spelling of the word “study” change to A-U-D-I-T? Why doesn’t the Bill say “study” then? as the specific term “audit” has far more LEGAL accounting implications/consequences. For those on the Left that will want to jump in and claim it is just semantics. Well…. If it is indeed just a study why not word it that way.

Further, if it is just a study - why not make it a voluntary participation study? Of course, it is about a fishing expedition and to learn how to eliminate those functional plans. We Conservatives, of course, are NOT going to concede to even “voluntary participation” in such a study because we know far too well how Liberal intrusions that are supposedly “voluntary” quickly get changed to REQUIRED participation.

This is yet more big government interjecting itself where something isn’t broken!!! Mechanisms exist by which if there is a suspected Fraud in a program to then audit it for Criminal activity. So none of this has any business being in a supposed Health Care Bill, which they are now spinning to be “Health Insurance Reform” - finally an honest admission that it has NOTHING to do with improving peoples access to Health Care - it’s about Liberal Takeover and Government control.

The Bill specifically (Section 113 pages 21-22) says it is to audit to “ensure that the law does not provide incentives for small and mid-size employers to self-insure!” They want to ensure no new businesses can/will self-insure and drive people into the Government plan “Choice” as they put it. It is NO CHOICE when all the other options are removed! (additional material at LC.org)

“Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free health-care services.”

TRUTH: Pages 50-51 contain a provision stating that discrimination will not be allowed in the provision of health care services. Nowhere does the bill state that non-US citizens will be provided free health care services.

Well, thanks for proving the point with the first sentence of his “supposed” Truth (those pesky Democrat ‘known-facts’) “contain a provision stating that discrimination will not be allowed in the provision of health care services.” I mean HELLO, did they read their own answer?!?!

Further, Dingbat goes on to explain that the Bill (no specific on where that language is, of course) PROHIBITS payment to “undocumented immigrants.” Thanks for the obvious dodge yet again. No reimbursement to them for paid services, but that has NOTHING to do with payment(s) to Health Care Providers for Services rendered in the treatment of an Illegal. And, of course, they will be looking next to Amnesty to make them all citizens anyway.

None of that deals with the issue that people will STILL go to the Hospital Emergency rooms for every sniffle, ache, pain, etc, as Urgent Care Centers and many Doctors’ Offices expect co-pay payment at time of Service. Hospitals cannot demand that.

Conclusion:
I could go on and on, point by Democrat Talking Point, and maybe I’ll share more in the Diary comments as you all chime in. You get the idea. Every answer was very carefully crafted to be a non-answer to the direct/specific issue/concern for what the Bill actually says in print, rather to try and imply something the Bill doesn’t really mean what it says - but, I guess, they are just not smart enough to actually craft a Bill that could SAY WHAT THEY supposedly MEAN!?!?

Please share the dodges and/or out-right lies from your Townhall.

[update: Aug. 22: "pre-approved/selected questions is the norm sham/scam" comment made in Jay Vance's Things I wanted to say at the Healthcare Townhall I couldn't get in Diary worth reading. -- I have been involved in putting on Townhalls and there is NO EXCUSE, if there is any concern about needing to be Fair and have NO appearance of "funny business" questions can and should be hand written by anyone wanting to ask one, placed into a Bingo-barrel (in plain site the whole time) by the questioner, and then mixed and randomly drawn out to be read, ALL in front of everyone. The Democrats, of course, MUST plant their questions because they cannot RISK dealing with real questions they don't have prepared carefully worded responses to in order to SPIN their BS.

This is not going to be a long drawn out Diary as the points are simple and straight-forward. The points are most easily illustrated by addressing current events as they pertain to John McCain and his latest antics. Antics? Yes, McCain’s latest politicking has him “posturing” for Senate re-election and playing Arizonians for Fools, IMNSHO…

Quick reiteration to the Diary Title - How it is that ANY Republican that has ever Served, and more-so actually had hardships Fighting for, this Country in the Military against Fascism, Socialism, Communism, in it’s incarnations, can now even remotely NEGOTIATE with those looking to take us away from the Capitalist Representative Republic of our Founders toward those very systems we fought is unfathomable. The Republicans MUST BE the Party of “NO” and not just the Party of SLOW Liberal Incremental-ism away from our Nations Founding principles. IT IS THAT SIMPLE!!!

A brief reminder before I continue to Republicans that have forgotten, or just haven’t grasped why they have lost power….

There are many reasons, the 13 Pages of Paperwork Dealerships are required to wade through and then “HOPE” they’ll get the money from Washington if they did it the way the Lib’s want (the Left wing Strings attached are the biggest reason to oppose it), the one least discussed is that it creates yet another artificial Government induced bubble in Markets from Government interference! A Bubble… Sound Familiar (think Mortgage meltdown see: CRA and the deregulation Lies)?!?! Again, this is really, however, not about the one single actual thing recently done (if you wish to go into it further in the Diary discussion, I’ll leave that for you all to decide) that has actually done some stimulus for the Economy and whether $2 Billion more should be spent in/on it.

John McCain thinks this one stand is supposed to remind you that he really is a “Conservative” at heart. I know, I know, we’ll pause for a moment while you try to stop laughing lol, but you know darn well this is the play he is intending to make to play up his re-election for the Senate from AZ. (More on his opponent and other Races in: Conservative Candidates (the Diary), I just wish I could afford to move to AZ for this Election cycle to fight to overthrow him in the Primary)

He will quickly return to cavorting with the enemies of our Republic (that’s you Democrats, for our slow Liberal visitors) on any/every other ObamAgenda item rather than saying NO and explaining why we MUST say NO, not just SLOWer Liberal Incremental-ism, and those of us adhering to the ObamaFAIL: How Obama’s FAILURES are the country’s SUCCESSES - since we have to spell it out is RIGHT for the Republican Party and, more importantly, THE COUNTRY!!! Why is it the biggest and best voice of the Conservative message comes from Daniel Hannan (British MEP)? (h/t: mbecker’s: What the Leader of the Republican Party should sound like! John McCain has announced his intent to vote NO on her confirmation. That, of course, is NOT a bad thing but an easy move for him knowing she is coasting through. Filibuster to save the SCOTUS from a Racist, Sexist, Class-ism, activist? No (his empty rhetoric about Filibuster was only mentioned against short term Clunker Cash not a LIFETIME APPOINTMENT and long-term damage to the Nation), but he’ll vote NO on her confirmation. The SoSo nomination issue has been tossed about as the “Hispanic challenge” for the Republican Party and/or Conservatives. NOT REALLY, IMO! The way to garner their votes are the same way by which to garner any other AMERICAN’S votes and that is through treating them with RESPECT and some “Straight Talk” (which has been decidedly LACKING from McCain, which is nothing more than a slogan for him) about EQUAL PROTECTIONS (recommended: GC’s American Exceptionalism) and not engaging in Liberal Identity Politics! Job creation for ALL AMERICANS, not one group over another. Protection from Crime of ALL AMERICANS, not unConstitutional “HATE-CRIME” mumbo-jumbo (see: Dem’s weak on crime. Always! comment). JOBS for ALL AMERICANS not continuing to promote/allow a basic Slave Labor class/sector. Legal Immigration based on sound National policy not handing out citizenships for votes via Amnesty. ALL AMERICANS face the same issues/concerns and deserve the respect of being treated TRULY Equally by us as Conservatives and/or Republicans, nothing else will garner their vote to the Republican Party (if their mind-set is set to Identity Politics, they shall always remain a member of the JackAss Party and we should not lose the votes of others that “GET IT”).

BI-PARTISANSHIP… John McCain is our most frustrating example of this, but it is time the record be corrected with some “Straight Talk” and pointing out where the REAL BI-PARTISANSHIP has been. More DEMOCRATS have JOINED WITH REPUBLICANS in votes AGAINST THE OBAMAGENDA!!! We will NOT, of course, get that message to the masses via the MSM because that doesn’t fit the Liberal agenda and it is therefore up to us to REPORT/INFORM friends, family, neighbors, and even total strangers, of the FACTS/TRUTH! The MSM is too busy only reporting Bi-Partisanship when they can name a few Republicans voting with Democrats to SPIN (read: mislead) woefully uninformed folks not paying attention to distort the current Votes, or for feeding Republican infighting - MSM uses snippets out of context to feed Republican in-fighting narrative (additional commentary on that here (speaking out against SoSo discussion) and here). The TRUTH about Bi-Partisanship support against Socialism in America is numerous, but had not been pulled together into one Diary. If you haven’t seen/heard yet, you will… Foxnews: Burris opts out of Senate run. The MSM will, no doubt, be playing up this bit of news: Foxnews: Burris Won’t Face Perjury Charge, with as much spin as possible to try and imply there was NO other hanky-panky he might still ultimately be called to account on/for.

The Burris fan club surrounded him during his Press Conference and chanted “Run, Burris, Run” (insert your own Forrest Gump reference and/or joke here), and while being careful to not blatantly blame everyone else (especially all those Racists wanting the “Black-man” out of the Senate) the over-tones of the usual play-book Race-baiting was employed. The Identity Politics ploy, in full force as he handed off the football for his MSM cohorts to run up-field with.

Timing is everything!?!? This one, IMO, is NO coincidence! At the same time the Sonia Sotomayor (SoSo) hearings are about to begin. The attempt, using another Sports analogy, to lob another easy Pitch for them to Hit out of the Ballpark for a Home-run on the “Racism” cries. Ladies and Gentlemen, more Style and NO Substance! And still some folks slumber and cannot be awakened to where the real Racism resides.

Perhaps Alan Keyes (find him too in the Blago fiasco diary) should run again?!?!? If this is “all about Race” then they can finally vote for a Black-Republican (You know, if it is indeed so darn important to replace in kind, as dumb/pathetic a notion that is)!?!? Of course NOT, but Alan is one of the very few that can/could confront/challenge the blatant absurdity some still delude themselves into. Illinois is, IMO, still going to go on more of the “Style Over Substance” this next time around (Campaign handicapping), while we hope most 2010 races should focus on Issues, as America awakens to the ObamAgenda Hangover.

The SoSo Confirmation Dog and Pony Show:
I’m listing this one under “distraction” though it is highly serious and of grave concern to whether, once appointed, SoSo will further embolden and Radicalize (and it is about her Radical viewpoints and Activism she’ll bring to the SCOTUS that matters and not her “ethnicity”) the Leftists already seated on the Bench - even after they just rebuked yet another of her previous rulings (see hogan’s: Let’s Get The Firefighter diary, GC’s: Sotomayor Session on Racial Activism, and others via RS:(googleSearch)Sotomayor). It is a distraction, as far as the MSM will be concerned by playing up the JackAss loyalists’ parade, to be portrayed as “serious SCOTUS scholars” and/or “impartial” (yeah, I know, stop laughing) SoSo supporters, and using it to demonize and perpetrate the usual Race-baiting lines to attack Republicans. This will be done knowing full well, absent something HUGE, she will be seated to the SCOTUS.

The latest on the Democrat’s attempts to shield SoSo from scrutiny of her Radicalness is that 1,200 pages of Memos withheld by Clinton Administration archives regarding Sotomayor. That one won’t have alot of Prime-time airplay or Newsprint coverage. Other stories (via Foxnews online) on SoSo can be found here.

It is sad that Democrats are looking to play Hispanics as fools with all the Race-baiting. What will be more shameful is if Republicans equally avoid going at SoSo rather than challenging her on her Rulings and countless dumb comments (and that it is NOTHING to do with her Gender and/or Heritage) and RESPECT them enough to know/understand where the Racism really resides. To fail to examine her “fairly,” meaning with the same and proper scrutiny as Republicans could/should/would go after any other nominee for their “lack of ‘concern’ for the Constitution and our Country’s founding/uniqueness and rather ‘re-shaping’ America in the image of Socialist Europe” which they are trying to retreat from!

Of course, not everyone agrees on whether it is a foregone conclusion, whether the battle is entirely lost or if parts of the battle can be salvaged/fought and won, and therefore how much is indeed distraction. Obviously it is because people have now become so used to his Foot-In-Mouth and associating them with being “incorrect statements” needing “clarification” (read: correcting the truth he spoke with a lie) that when he makes a blatantly TRUTHFUL comment (ie. “Misread the Economy”) they are more than happy to play it 24×7 expecting the ObamaZombies to disregard that truth and feed the Lie the MSM wishes to feed the masses (a, sort of, warped reverse-psychology). So, watch for Biden’s latest Gaffe diversion(s) on an hourly basis!

Small Business Bailout? TARP and now other misc. bailouts:
Now we have to watch monies coming back to the Government, as some of the Financial Institutions our Tax money went to Bailout start to “pay it back,” and how they (Democrats) want to re-launder it back out (Dem. Money Laundering (PC excuses to $pend) plus “extent possible” language). Small businesses, the back-bone of America’s Economic engine, languishes in the expectations of tremendous Tax hikes the ObamaBinBiden Administration will HAVE TO LEVY in order to begin to pretend to pay for! So now, the latest scheme to launder Federal funds to Democrat loyalists will be in the name of “Small Business,” since none of the Political payoffs have, it appears, filtered down to the little JackAss folk despite all those non-bid Contract payoffs via the Porkulus Bill.

Car Dealerships? Most of those have been Republican owned, as covered in many Diaries here at RS (see here). However, some of those will be in Democrat districts and/or areas Liberals will be looking to buy their next votes. While the dealerships themselves may or may not get Bailouts directly, some scheme will be developed to funnel money to “save jobs” and perhaps prevent some of those Dealership owners from becoming the next Republican Candidates (going in with great name recognition in their areas and a great platform on the Democrats’ failed Economic policies) challenging them as we’ve already started to hear happening.

Cap And Trade:
We will be moving forward to what “compromise” (in relation to the House fiasco, find those Diaries here) the Senate will be looking to IMPOSE on America as the debate moves there. Michigan’s Senators (as were their House counterparts) are all bought and paid for: How/Why MI Officials spin CAT being “okay”.

First, let “ME” make an admission…. I sometimes hear/see only the MSM spun snippet, out of context of what someone “supposedly” meant (they want us to think: “SAID IN TOTAL”), that I forget it is NOT always (in fact, often NOT) the case/intent. They PLAY US!!!! And “I” sometimes fall for it and go on with the Republican/Conservative in-fighting that I otherwise try to speak out against! I “Hope” (and not in a ObamaHOPE way) others will recognize/realize, admit it (like I just had - so we’re Human for crying out loud, it happens), and move forward so that ‘WE ALL” can/will do better to remind ourselves of it in the future before we jump on our fellow Conservatives/Republicans….

As I’d admitted elsewhere… I have to give NEWT a break.. I fell for the MSM spin/twist/distort routine and know that NEWT is criticizing the ObamAgenda even though he isn’t going as far as the: “ObamaFAIL: How Obama’s FAILURES are the country’s SUCCESSES - since we have to spell it out” as “I” do and would prefer him to. I also admit to being “upset” with some fellow RedStaters back around Inauguration time when they “toned down” and backed away from the “ObamaFAIL” rhetoric. It is NOT as if they were/are NOT criticizing Obama, they are just being “careful” with their word-choice because some of them have to worry about Votes and/or do NOT want to have the important points that must be made to fall on deaf ears.

I myself have run for Public Office a few times and sat on Committees/Commissions. Therefore, I know first hand that while one can garner some votes with certain harsher rhetoric it can/will also alienate some voters. We have to remember the National Party split (in many locations one cannot win with just Conservatives/Republicans votes) and that most of the battle is over those “Moderate” (in-decisive, non-committal, many out-of-touch inattentive, often squishes) we complain about! That other thing we can forget, or take for granted, is others’ Districts/States Political makeup and it DOES matter in the language one can/must use! Easy for those in firm Red territory (or extremely Blue [BLUE-ism] areas and never would get a Conservative/Republican elected)! What can our Conservative Candidates (the Diary) really say and still be elected? Again, depends on the District/State.

Okay, enough on the setup…. ON WITH THE CHALLENGE….

Pretend for a moment you are an Ultra-Liberal Newspaper reporter/editor or CNN/MSNBC segment producer (whatever). It isn’t hard to do just imagine you’re everything you are NOT - like a RACE-baiter, Class-warfare divisive (maybe a sexist/racist) Democrat hack, Identity Politics apologist, Out of Control Spending Big Government lover, etc… you know the usual [MSM bias] Democrat voter that works in the Media.

Now, in that nasty/angry/spiteful/envious/bubble/etc frame of mind (was I too kind to Liberal Reporters? lol): Review this FNS: Mitt Romney on FNS Transcript! With me so far? It could be just about any Conservative/Republican in any Interview situation, we’re just using this one this time because it is handy (again h/t Flagstaff).

Now, imagine, of course, your GOAL is NOT TO REPORT what was said/meant by Romney (or any Republican/Conservative from/in ANY discussion - think perhaps editing a Palin/Couric interview for airing [that give you the hint?!?!]) and see what words/phrases/sentences you will/would PICK OUT to make the STORY/SPIN about Republican in-fighting, or semi-positive spin for SoSo, or Democrat Defense Cuts [avoiding the Surrender Doctrine (Democrats ALWAYS cut/weaken U.S.Defense) truth], etc….

Anyone/Everyone can see just how easy it is for them to slice it, dice it, and turn it into a tossed salad of a narrative other than what was/is intended. The next time (and isn’t it a daily basis by the Leftist MSM) we hear/read a “sound-bite” (or even diced set of PARTIAL comments) of/from a Conservative/Republican, be skeptical of what was/is implied. Does that change at all the perspective on Moe’s Diary Lindsey Graham wounded by Sotomayors hurtful remarks?

Likewise, of course, they will be doing just the opposite with any Interview that has anything to do with a fellow Liberal/Democrat. They will pick the most “positive” comments to match the narrative desired. They can and will continue to bend over backwards (think Pelosi-CIA) to protect the Democrats/Liberals with whom they share a bias/agenda, only occasionally releasing the unflattering truth (even then, piece-meal to minimize the damage) on something that has become to toxic for them to continue to ignore/spin!

We know these things! The bias is obvious/blatant most times, though they try to be “subtle” and disguise it to try and catch us with our guard down.

I think (HOPE) that may finally drive home the thought/point sometimes gets missed, or just at times forgotten, (again, I AM GUILTY of it at times) and then allow ourselves to be suckered into arguments amongst ourselves rather than focusing on, the real enemies, the Democrats/Liberals!!!! Staying attentive to those things we agree on in opposing the “ObamAgenda.” Remembering we have to work together to accomplish things (even during Primaries) and perhaps much more-so while we are out of power.

First, the “Republican Revolution” of the 90’s was mis-labeled, it was really the “CONSERVATIVE Revolution” and it brought Republicans to power; likewise, it was the “Reagan Conservative” Revolution, not a Republican Revolution. Many Republicans forgot that along the way. That led the way for CINO/PLINO Democrats to lie their way back into power, but it was a “Conservative” co-opted (read: they lied about their intent) that voters allowed themselves to be duped into. Republicans need to REMEMBER that! Conservatism did NOT lose Elections, bad Politicians (with R’s beside their name) did! ALSO: Republicans must be the Party of NO [to Bigger Govt.] not the Party of SLOW[er Liberal Incremental-ism]

In this Diary we will cover as many current Conservative Candidates in current races as possible, with links to their campaigns and where to donate, so we can help them NOW, but we will be going beyond that (and discuss why we must), because it seems we learn too late who the next Conservatives we have coming up that will be ready to take the lead for the Conservative battles in each and every State until some unexpected happenstance brings our attention to the questions. It is time we examine, on a State by State basis: Where are they now? We should know without question who the next options/choices are amongst our fellow Conservatives all across the Nation. When the time comes, we must have better arguments than “but…. He/She is Conservative” and nothing beyond that but the blank stare and stuttering like in Spinal Tap “But… This one goes to 11….” Do we really want that to be our (”YOUR”) only manner by which to say someone MUST provide support/vote for them? Really??

We all know we really need to have more than that in order to have someone ready to hit the ground running when opportunities arise, somewhat (potentially) unexpectedly… We allow those who are NOT our first choices to fill those voids when we are not ready with a well-known Conservative ready to go from day one filing Candidacy papers EARLY and allowing us to then beat the path for them here at RedState (before others garner the National Press)!

With name-recognition (State-wide, at least, and best Nationally), a reasonable Candidate committee base and Supporter base to build UP upon, some manner of having demonstrated they can-be/will-be/are able to raise funds Locally and even Nationally in important Federal level races. YOU KNOW THIS!!! It is the RIGHT (yes, partial pun intended :P) strategy to have our Conservative Candidates ready (and it is why some non-best First choices are on Republican tickets) to be actually fighting the General Election Campaign from day one rather than worrying about whether they will be the one that will come out of ANY Primary battle - then having that momentum up into and out of the Primary as a slingshot to General Election victory (rather than limping because of rough uphill Primary battles)!

I will not cover each and every State here myself, but provide this platform to, and hope my fellow Conservatives from EVERY State will, engage in said discussions. Perhaps a person can start a State sub-thread by a Comment with the State name in the Comment-title and subsequent discussion for that State to take place via Reply-to under that. That would in and of itself bring us 50 sub-threads in this Diary (so let’s be careful to maintain the readability and flow by maintaining careful Reply-to by/within State).

I have contended in our conversations that we need to do a better job of using the Primaries to elevate our (”build future National level Candidates”) up-and-coming Conservative bright shining lights. Friendly Primaries can/could/should, IMO, be used to prepare Conservatives, Conservative supporters, Campaign war-chests, general name-recognition, etc….

I think we sometimes view the Primaries incorrectly….

Toomey is a good example, for one, which demonstrates (to your point) that a loss can/does set up a run for the future…. A loss is not the end, necessarily!

As for my Comment title here….. Primaries…. We grasp what I mean in Presidential campaigns as those that may run may NOT have a chance of winning that particular campaign but it allows them to shape the debate and earn that CLOUT (as I put it before - but it means name-recognition, an expanded campaign worker base, lists, money, etc….) ….. If we had people coming into Primaries and more Candidates honored Reagan’s 11th and held “respectful” over cut-throat campaigns we can/will… One, shape the debates and try and bring those candidates that are NOT our first choices (hopefully) around [to the more appropriate Conservative positions] at least some. Two, to setup them for future runs (like Toomey) being in a better position to win.

The only issue with the Primary runs for National spots as a “publicity tour” (more or less) can conceivably weaken them for the jobs (reelection of their current job) if another opponent can stick them with being disinterested in that job and only looking to “climb the ladder” as a career politician….

How it relates here, of course, is that we could have and should have somehow had some Conservative FL candidates working up their State-wide popularity potentially through that strategy. While “All Politics Are Local” it has become true too that “All Federal Level Posts campaigns have become National” and having people that can/will pull in support, financial and otherwise, to win these races as they come up IMO is important (Toomey, again as an example - we need to get him over disreSpecter or any Democrat that may Primary him out).

Of course, the Toomey example was NOT quite a “Friendly Primary” but the fact that it has set him up as the Leader/Front-runner and Nationally known Conservative Candidate does make part of my point. Without that run, Ridge would have been the clear front-runner and the General Election Candidate. In States where a good Conservative Candidate is on the ballot, sharing the stage with another should NOT be a disrespect but an honor in having another fellow Conservative to help carry the Torch of the Conservative message, and prepares that Candidate for the next opportunity to come along and DOES NOT leave us scrambling wondering who may have the “gravitas” to step right in with, again: clout, name-recognition, war-chest, etc…

I think you all understand that point and can see the benefit in it. Governor and/or Secretary of State Office Races are another good example of how/where we can/should be “preparing” our next Federal Level Candidates so they have a foundation to build on and a leg up on our Democrat (the real) enemies. As well as having prepared Republican Lt. Governors to step out for runs in another capacity (in States that have Lt. Gov. posts). We must NOT give Non-Conservative Republicans (we love to whine about around RedState) the chance to step-up/step-in because we will HAVE the next heir-apparent!

In other words, getting people into friendly Primaries…

Let me keep this generic… Pick your most FAVORITE Senator anywhere…. Some[one] should run against that Senator ANYWAY in the Primary….. The purpose isn’t to DEFEAT that Senator but to:

1. Have more than ONE person out on the campaign trial getting out the Conservative message to the masses.

2. Gives the other Primary Candidates that chance to build up future run support rather than leaving it for the NRSC to step in with whomever is “popular” enough to win. People will have been working their name-recognition and message and be ready to step up (again, Toomey is perfect example - though his wasn’t a “Friendly” campaign like I am making an example of here).

3. The Parties multiple Conservative Candidates come together at the end of the Primary to strengthen the Republican Candidate for the General (if we always, get ready in line - as I’m putting forth - we will always have a good viable Conservative candidate and not have to worry about what we see happening in FL - IMO).

We, as Conservatives, aren’t doing enough in any sense to prepare the way and have them ready/viable when the opportunities arise. We can and should do better. Instead, it is like we waited and now bite at each other over what to do now because WE FAILED to lay the ground-work in the past let alone be able to look forward beyond the next Election.

As always, I view these discussions as STRATEGY… Now and going forward.

Criticisms can be made, I certainly don’t want to hinder that, but we should be doing it in ways that don’t DISTORT and remind people the door is always open to work together on common goals [GOP (still Conservative) Platform and/or Contract with America (original, a part 2?)] with others in the Conservative movement and/or Republican Party.

It’s easy for some in either Deep Red or Deep Blue States (or Deep one or the other Districts within States - Michigan is Purple these days leaning to Blue, but I’m in a definite deep-Blue county), things will pretty much always shake down the usual direction no matter what folks do… Not so plain and simple Battling for the Purple-land (or those lands shifting: exporting/expanding BLUE-ism, Red-Dogs, RINOs, CINOs, DINOs, PLINOs, and Blue-Dogs, oh my… The Political Zoo - what/who are they?, using Primaries to build up future candidates [which we are focusing on, I hope, in this Diary], etc).

It would be nice if we could keep the focus on the REAL enemies: Democrats. [Shame we have to keep covering the obvious ground over and over again!] While, yes - working to ensure Conservative control within the Republican Power base…. So, again, the main questions/concerns —
Where are they Now?
Who are the Next?

Perhaps some of the Candidates we should already know about, because of great local appeal (and somewhat State-wide Conservative activism) but we don’t yet. Why don’t we?? Get them to step up involvement and ensure we do all get to know them on a first-name basis so they have our automatic/unquestioned support when it comes time for them to File For Candidacy for an important race/campaign. Yes, of course, there is NO SUCH THING as an unimportant Office, but you know what I mean!

Existing positions within a State that should already hold State-wide appeal would be Secretary of State, Attorney General, Lt. Governor, and what else? Do “WE” (Conservative? Republican? hopefully both??) hold those posts? Who are they?? Why don’t we know of these folks Nationally, for “GOOD” reasons not (or being on the right side of a) controversy? lol

Good one to start with since the State has been the source of many discussions regarding Pat Toomey (join/donate) vs. Arlen disreSpecter (either our desire to have Toomey beat the snot out of him in the Primary or now in the General Election since Benedict Arlen has done us the favor of going to the Party he best belongs….. IMO, of course … Tone, Joe, tone - lol). Since Senator Spectacle (he-he) is clearly in the other Party now, it is FAIR GAME and open season on him, where we should still watch ourselves and be “RESPECTFUL” [be respectful, or be banned (the Diary)] in regard to other Republicans (again, Reagan’s 11th - at least some restraint would be nice). I had to bring that point back up through the back-door here. Anyway….

We are CLEAR on who was/is ready and best suited to take on Arlen Specter in the General Election because we had all hoped he would knock him off in the last Primary he went up against him. Having someone else in the race, as a “Friendly Primary” as outlined previously, would be welcomed (as long as there isn’t a third we would have to be concerned about splitting votes too many ways and lose our top-candidate; but if he/she is the top-candidate they should not lose).

Having had Toomey prepared for this run helped us to keep Tom Ridge out of the Race (though I do NOT hate him as much as some fellow Conservatives do, I consider him a loyal Bush Red-Dog while others insist he would pass to the RINO category if in the Senate). We will NOT have to find out. That is part of the point of having other Conservatives in U.S.Senate or Governorship (State-wide and/or National focus) races to have our next Conservative candidates primed and ready and unquestioned (unless we have 2-3 real good Conservatives to choose from when they all compete - still leaves them open for the next Senate or Governorship or whatever runs then)….

How about Rick Santorum? I see him on TV on occasion, but what is he really doing? Will he, could he, should he, be running for an Office and which one?? Can we see a rematch against Bob Casey (D-PA)?? What about a Governorship run??

What of Lynn Swann? Was/is he Conservative enough?? Will he, could he, should he, be running for an Office and which one??

William Russell (Campaign site) (Donate) will again be challenging John (I’ll have you sent back to the War, remember that one?) Murtha (D-PA-12) don’t forget to give him your moral and financial support.

Who should join Toomey in a “Friendly Primary” for the U.S.Senate seat so as to set them up for a run against Casey (D-PA)?? or Rendell (D-PA-Gov)??

What of/about Tom Ridge? He did serve the Party. Before you go on about the “supposed” Threat Level controversy you need to see the The “Pretend you’re a Liberal MSM reporter (and Spin the story)” Challenge [now with Aug.2009 Tom Ridge book Distortion update] before going on. Is there nothing Pennsylvanians should want to allow him to serve his State?? You actually expecting him to just go flip burgers at McDonalds?!?! PA needs to determine (this 2010 Senate campaign should really tell us) if PA has gone to Purple and actually into Blue? Even then, though, a Ridge run in 2012 would be a BAD IDEA, IMO, for the obvious point of the Presidential Race and the Democrats easily trying to do the Bush morph advertisements. Does he have to wait for a Republican President again so he can have a Cabinet appointment in order to earn a living?

A brief aside… Let’s Go Red Wings! lol (vs. Pittsburgh Penguins in Stanley Cup rematch from last year. I was hoping for a Philadelphia Flyers [Went to a Flyers Game and a Palin Rally broke out] vs. Wings Cup this year - rematch from several years ago.) [update: Congratulatoins to the Penguins on winning the Cup - bad for the NHL but hopefully we'll see another rematch next year so we can take it back from you :P]

The next logical choice with also a former NFL great: Mike Ditka (see this Blago diary for background)? Is he “Conservative” enough?? Could a Conservative really win the ACORN central State?? Should he step up and save IL as he may have been able to have saved us from having Barack Obama from even having become an Illinois U.S.Senator (again, see this Blago Diary)?? Would/Could he beat Roland Burris in what IMO will be yet another Style over/rather-than Substance campaign (middle ground voters allowed themselves duped into) in Illinois?? Illinois’ Chicago-thug-politics warrants, again IMO, a potentially non-traditional Candidate and Battle for that seat, so it doesn’t get bogged down as much in the Policy wonkiness and focus on the guy beyond reproach versus the tainted Burris!?!?

Who should join Ditka (if he could be persuaded) in a “Friendly Primary” for the U.S.Senate seat. A Conservative to help with the anti-ObamUnism and/or anti-corruption message(s) and bolster Ditka or go on to win the Primary and have Ditka endorse/support him/her?? Or, so as to set them up for a run against Richard Durbin (D-IL)?? or corrupt (at least morally, IMO, if not otherwise) Pat Quinn (D-IL-Gov) [Chicago Tribune: Blago removed Quinn in]??

Who are the Conservative champions that can correct all the corruption that has held Illinois hostage for decades??

Another obvious one for the next focus. With all the Crist/Rubio discussion [multiple sub-links], Why we are we even caught in this position? We didn’t prepare and bring along our Conservative Candidates properly/well-enough, IMO, is the easy answer. We needed a ready/easy/obvious choice that would have almost been unchallengeable - please don’t tell me someone is going to argue this is the case now! I do NOT question those putting forth Marco Rubio (donate via THIS RedState link so they know we RedStaters are supporting him directly) but we needed to have known more about him far sooner and had him ready and unquestioned as the right choice for Florida’s next Senator!

Normally, the next logical question would be: Who should be in a Friendly Primary with him to work toward being the next well known Conservative crusader. BUT, it is obvious that in this case/race he cannot have a fellow Conservative in to split-the-Primary-vote in his bid against Charlie Crist (R-FL-Gov) in the 2010 FL U.S.Senate Primary - discussed at great length thus far and which will continue on an hourly basis here at RS from now until that Primary Election day.

What staunch Conservatives in FL need to be stepping up now to prepare for “Friendly” (or otherwise) run for the FL Governorship (and whether that will be against Crist if he is left behind)??

What of/about Jeb Bush? We’ve all had big issues with Charlie Crist, but some of us have had questions/issues with Jeb Bush also!?!? I would be willing to “potentially” see him in the U.S.Senate but frankly I do NOT want to give another Bush a chance to let-me-down! Who will (or will ANYONE) be ready and primed to challenge Bill Nelson (D-FL)?? If Crist wins this Primary battle will Marco Rubio be primed for that battle or BEATEN TO DEATH and unviable - this current Senate race needs to be fought to push Conservative ideals but be RESPECTFUL enough to be sure to NOT DAMAGE EITHER OF THEM and potentially handing BOTH FL Senate seats, as well as the next Governorship, to the Democrats!!! Like it or not, both of them will be important to FL Politics for some time to come! Any-one’s slash-and-burn desires may yield that (Democrats claiming all)! BUT, NO, this is NOT a Crist/NRSC versus Rubio Diary (again, plenty of those on an hourly basis being created), but more about WHO COMES NEXT for us (Conservatives) to work for BEYOND 2010??

What of/about Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp. I’ve never heard his name, but I had at least known who Charlie Crist was before he became Governor as FL AG. He was “Primed,” as I put it in my/these “Strategy Scenarios,” when it came time for a Republican Governor Jeb Bush (or other potential position) to be replaced. That is, of course, the big point and why I am hoping we have this/these discussion(s). Or was/is that all just Jeb Bush’s fault?

Another fairly obvious one in retrospect now! Why haven’t we had a Real Conservative step-up in what everyone believes to be a solid Red-State to challenge U.S.Senator John McCain, that so many of us consider to be a RINO (we all KNEW that if he remained in the Senate he would run for President again), in a “Friendly” or “Blatantly Hostile” Primary before this one? And I am working hard to bite my tongue and keep this as respectful as possible!

Is Chris Simcox (donate/join) sufficiently Conservative and have enough clout to really have a shot at unseating McCain [going at McLame in a Primary, finally]?? Will confusion of the “Border Groups,” of one of which Simcox founded, cloud the issues and therefore his potential for wide support??

What of/about J.D. Hayworth? Talk was that he might challenge John McCain for his Senate seat, is he still considering a run?? Should J.D. Hayworth challenge McCain or would that just split the Primary vote with/against Simcox and just help John McCain??

Who should join Jon Kyl (R-AZ) in a “Friendly Primary” (or is he NOT Conservative enough and therefore should be challenged for his seat seriously - we are always hearing everything about McCain I don’t know a thing, really, about Jon Kyl) for the U.S.Senate seat so as to set them up for a run against Jan Brewer (R-AZ-Gov) (now that Obama helped get rid of Nappy (D-HSA)). Is Jan Brewer (R-AZ-Gov) (since she moved up from her Secretary of State post to Governor, as AZ does NOT have a Lt. Gov. post) Conservative enough and will get the job done?? What about any who are NOT Pro-Amnesty (not trying to insult, just asking) Conservative Arizonans with a chance for the Governorship (or is Brewer a Strong Borders Governor)??

What of/about Ken Bennett? Is he Conservative?? We know he became AZ-SOS when Jan Brewer became Governor. Bennett, and others, lost to Brewer in the Republican Primary for that SOS Office, but was then appointed to the post by her. What goals (if any) should AZ Conservatives have for Bennett??

Where is John Kasich? Former Congressman and key player in the Balanced Budget sent on to Bill Clinton for passage! Sure, we’ve seen him on TV from time to time, but what is he up to really?? Last I heard he was being pushed to step up and run for Governor of Ohio?? [Update: He IS Officially running now]

What of Kenneth Blackwell? Former Ohio Treasurer (appointed/elected), H.W. Bush appointment to undersecretary of HUD, Ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Commission, with unsucessful runs for Congress and Ohio’s Governorship. Recently, he ran for RNC chairmanship. Does he carry enough support to push for Congress again and then potential U.S.Senator run??

Who are the up and coming Conservatives and can/will any of them get enough State-wide/National support to take on Sherrod Brown (D-OH) who already appears to have some heavy Primary challenges on the Democrat side?? Attorney General and/or Secretary Of State Offices??

Where is former staunch Conservative Governor John Engler and once touted as a potential Vice-Presidential pick, has faded into obscurity. John would have been pretty-good U.S.Senator Candidate material at one time. Could he come back and make any effective run now though?? He and Michelle are probably still pretty busy and having their hands full with their Triplet daughters.

One we know and have high-hopes for is Congresswoman, and former (very popular) MI-SOS, Candice Miller (R-MI-10). Can she position for a U.S.Senate run to unseat Debbie Stabenow or Carl Levin?? Another is Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI-12), though he has upset some RedStaters over “uncertain” Automotive bailout positioning!

Current Michigan AG Mike Cox has recently announced he is running for Michigan Governor to succeed Jennifer Gran(munist)holm (D-MI-Gov) who must vacate in 2010 due to Term-Limits, giving Republicans its best chance to reclaim the State in some time. Joining Cox in the Republican Primary are (at least) L. Brooks Patterson the Oakland County Executive (long-shot IMO because he alienates and drives up anti-votes from Wayne/Macomb counties), Terry Lynn Land (R-MI-SOS), and Pete Hoekstra (R-MI-02). They will meet the probable (though may have many Democrat challengers) John Cherry (D-MI-LtGov).

All of Michigans former promising Conservative Candidates have seemingly fallen off the face of the Earth. Who is out there that can save the State from the Ultra-Liberal Senators Levin and Stabenow??

What is former Congressman (and another with Football ties) J.C. Watts Jr. (former R-OK-04) though some say he was much more a Red-Dog Republican at the Conservative times rather than so much a true-believer?? Rumored to be considering a run for OK Governorship, more recent news reports say he has “passed” on that potential.

Since it has been suggested the SCOTUS pick is a “distraction” or “deflection” [h/t mark_i: Obama's Supreme Distraction as well as Erick's: Breaking News], I contended true but not as some see it, I started this list as to what Obama doesn’t want you paying attention to [moved from comment to Diary by request]. It is not about Obama being “distracted” but fodder for the MSM [MSM bias] to distract the masses on/over while Obama and the Democrats try to Ram through other agenda items. While you are focusing on the Sonia Sotomayor (”SoSo” as some have named her lol - but once you examine her record, the things she has said HERSELF, etc you will understand she is NOT even “so-so” as one might call Souter. She is much more Left and Activist) nomination [SCOTUS Empathy? I thought it was EQUAL Justice!?!? / Obama's 2001 Redistributive Justice (see his own words via video) / Identity Politics / first Hispanic on SCOTUS? / Yahoo: Is Sotomayor the First (or Second) Hispanic Pick for the Supreme Court? A:second (First was a Republican appointment)]

Before we get to our list of the ObamAgenda items that he doesn’t want you paying attention to, let’s be clear about this SCOTUS pick. It is for the very reasons below that we MUST fight any/all Liberal Activist appointments to the Bench. We all know that under the Liberal/Progressive Activists Incremental-ism playbook, what they cannot/do-not achieve today through Legislation (or that is enacted they do not like) they will often attempt to push their agenda via the Courts. Nothing mis-shapes the battle to prevent Democrats from passing Unconstitutional Acts than by stacking the SCOTUS with Justices that will just IGNORE the Constitution and uphold their Tyranny.

Having said that, Obama/Democrats/Progressives hope you only pay attention to the “SoSo” drama about to unfold while they perform slight-of-hand (shake your hand with their Right, while pick your pocket with their Left) on the most drastic “Change” to the American way of Life. So, just what does Obama have to distract/deflect from? It proves to be a very long list, of which I only touch the first few here….

1. First and foremost, a Stimulus [Democrat's Money Laundering (PC excuses to Tax/$pend) / $timulus, a bailout to believe in? / RS(search): "Stimulus" related diary links] that isn’t stimulating - while less than 10% of the monies have been spent they are trying to claim it is putting people to work or those infamous unprovable “Saved Jobs” BS (and therefore must distract/deflect)…. If the Economy “is” coming back some, and only 10% has been spent - perhaps the other 90% SHOULD BE CANCELLED!?!?!? Now, the fact that even the monies allocated (that 10%) isn’t really doing anything yet, it hasn’t stopped the “This future Project being brought to you by BHO” pat on the back, pander for future votes, signs from going up all over!

2. Climate Scam [Climate $cam - Climate $cam / Climate Cycles/Shifts / China projects - China gets the Flood/Drought Cycles preparation right / Tidal power generation (finally) / RS(search): Global Warming / Climate change
] policies about to be unloaded unto the country (partly hidden through the EPA going to regulate CO2).

3. Moving to taking over Health Care takeover [RS(search): Nationalized Health Care], or at least giving Democrats as much control via Government agencies (which always remain under Liberal control at the under-Director and mid-level management permanent jobs despite whomever is President).

4. TARP / Bank takeovers [RS(search): TARP] all the “Monkey business” going on via the TARP control and even with/through the FDIC….. In fact he has adopted the Bush “Return On Success” and that is a success for the U.S. (United States interests) and our Iraqi allies. They don’t/won’t, of course, call it the same thing but is abiding by the Iraqi SOFA (TV next?) [don't get the pun, take a look at the link] and going to keep about 50,000 Troops behind for the foreseeable future. — Win the War and Protect the Peace! — American Success!

2. Obama insisted that the Military Tribunals would end and we would just treat the Enemies of our Nation (Enemy Combatant Detainees) as if they were just common Chicago criminals (coddle and let them off the hook, like Democrats always do)….

In fact the Oblahblah administration is finally admitting the need for the Military Tribunals, but (of course) promises there will be some changes (in other words, they will change the “words” associated with it, like they RETREATED from the GWOT term and the like).

Now if we can only get him to FAIL in his desire to repeat history (as Democrats always do) in enacting the Surrender Doctrine (Democrats ALWAYS cut/weaken U.S.Defense); their never grasping or attempting to look-at/anticipate and avoid any unintended consequences (that Democrats always ignore); distancing from and harming Allies while promising to cozy up to Enemies (Iran, NoKo, Cuba, etc), worse than any Democrat has done before (think Carter) him (see: Loose Lips Sink Ships [Feinstein Torpedoes Pakistan]); Climate $cam now known as “Cap-and-Trade,” but their focus groups tell them they have to change that term so it is being repackaged; Democrats’ Money Laundering (PC excuses to $pend); corrupting the Census with the help of A.C.O.R.N. (wish I had the link handy to where we went in-depth on how all those Phony-voters they registered will now show up living at those empty lots across America as Democrats living in Blue areas to pad the count); etc….

There are many more examples that can be thought of how Obama had promised he was going to do one thing and is (Thankfully) FAILING TO DO IT, which is a plus/win for the United States by his FAILURE to do so!!!!!! Unfortunately we are early on in his administration and they have plenty of time to lull people into further slumber to ram through more bad policy later while they are not paying attention. Rather than knock myself out covering them I thought I’d put the thought out here for my fellow Conservatives to add to the list.

Perhaps when we have a nice sized list, Rush Limbaugh can do (at least part of) a Show covering them (assuming he hasn’t already, I don’t listen to his show much) as a follow-up to help the numb-skulled folks comprehend the FAIL concept.

Obama to fail rhetoric…

Guess a bigger Bandwagon is in order…. And I’m not speaking to anyone in particular with this comment, just in general….

There have been some around that were of the “Give Obama A Chance” line…. Can’t read their minds, but I will defend them to the point of saying that I do NOT believe it is a question of them wanting him to succeed in/with any Liberal/Progressive/Socialist agenda items, just that we had to allow Obama to show his stripes to the great unwashed since he at times tries to sell himself as somewhat Conservative (Tax Cut BS, “return to Responsible Government” lines/lies, reviewing the Budget and cutting out what isn’t effective [we, of course, knew that all he meant by that was what any/every Democrat does - cut Defense] and now exposing it is a meaningless amount he’s looked at and at items the Democrat Congress will put right back in the Budget anyway, etc)…. We, of course, paid attention to Obama’s PAST as well as all the different things he said out on the campaign (how he changed his tune depending on his immediate audience available to him) and knew exactly how he would be governing (sound Conservative at times [read:LIE] and govern as an ultra-leftist), and we were willing to stand against it from Day One…

Those who used those lines, again didn’t want any Liberal policies to succeed, just didn’t want the direct (RS: 01/10/09) I want Obama to Fail (here’s why) direct language that I’d used… They wanted to moderate tone and language so as to not be “shut out” of some lines of communications, and IMO how they saw/see it, and a chance at reaching some folks…. I can understand, to some degree, and respect that, but (as I accused a fellow RedStater [whom I like/respect] to challenge his thinking) I think those doing so were just being dupes…. Now, I have to admit that I should have said “unwilling/unwitting dupes” (failing to choose my words carefully enough [see be respectful [tone, terms, etc, matters]) so I offer my friend (he knows who he is) an apology for that omission (he knew it wasn’t personal, just an honest question/debate of approach).

Any Republicans and/or Conservatives using the “moderated tones and/or language” will be used just as we’ve seen the MSM do with John McCain for the last dozen years… To take his “willingness to cooperate” as a Hammer to beat other Republicans and Conservatives over the head with as “Obstructionist,” “Uncooperative,” and countless other negative portrayals… We see it, of course, with the 3 Stooges (SnowJob, disreSpecter, and TomCollins) on the one side to detract from the FACT that REAL BI-PARTISANSHIP has been on the VOTES/SIDE AGAINST all the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Spending (House Stimulus votes) and many of us have been trying to remind anyone/everyone of that - that more Democrats have come “across the aisle” to vote with Republicans against the Porkulus at every turn. The Press ignores the Facts, and reports the 3 Stooges as “Bi-Partisan” spin…. We also see the other side, so it doesn’t matter how we play it (my point, and that of many others), with those against and use the HONEST AND DIRECT TERMINOLOGY of FAIL splattered across the MSM….

Again… Nice to see more finally “getting it” …. (Shame Newt is still playing the PC games of “give him a chance”) Playing nice isn’t going to cut it and just plays into the MSM spin …. which they will do regardless with either “we want him to Fail” or “we must give him a chance” stances. We may as well be HONEST and use the direct terminology and bring those willing to “understand” rather than play a game with the MSM that won’t/can’t be won!

I still don’t expect the Left to get it. Actually, many of them do comprehend it but openly lie about their understanding and alter/spin, or quote out of context, it to the weak minded they can brainwash or the intellectually lazy that won’t listen for themselves to discern what is really being said. There may still be some hope for some Independents, so we must keep the record of what we’ve said and what it means straight. They must have these points demonstrated.

Name-calling, Ranting and raving, Foul language, Tantrums, Flaming, Personality conflicts, Shout-downs, carrying Grudges across threads, Thread-jacking, Troll-jacking or Troll-jacked, Trollanoia, etc… Other things can and may/will get you banned, not going to even touch any of those here you can/should read (and re-read them if you had before to refresh your memory of some rules/thoughts there-in) the Help files (RS:Help) as this Diary only covers a limited scope of conduct. This is about focusing on the Substance over a particular writers Style.

First, I must make absolutely clear that I am just another guest (Profile) here (like you) that cares, and no more! Umm, that no more is that I am no more than that of a guest, not that cares “no more,” which quickly brings us into the point of how some things may be read/taken two different ways if we are not careful with context, writing or reading (and a demonstration that I can’t avoid a bad pun). I am just looking to share some things I’ve learned as a guest at RedState and things that concern me that I’m seeing from some of my fellow visitors, especially some fellow Conservatives/Republicans. We are guests at this (and we need to remember there are constant newbies joining, some things need to be repeated/clarified for their benefit at times and they do not yet know others’ personalities/styles), or any other, site and should be conducting ourselves as if we are in our hosts’ homes. Note for regular visitors: Some of the content of this Diary is for the benefit of our new visitors, not because I’m looking to create a world record (for me) length Diary, covering things you consider/know to be obvious. Remember, there are new folks joining the online community (both young and old) all the time and this may be their first blog-site (see also: words-unseen).

Let us start with the simple notion/concept: A Diary/Comment should be judged on the basis of the merit of the Post itself with NO REGARD for who wrote the Post (NETiquette) - The merit of each individual point made, leaving personalities aside. Then thoughtful, respectful, responses made. Many of the issues we deal with can be “touchy” and can evoke strong emotions, let us please Keep our heads about us and keep our calm as well as our manners! Choose your words carefully when broaching subject matter.

You know, like “Big Tent!” Yep, that is a hot one. Why? Because it is the catch-all. “Big Tent,” in relation to the Republican Party (GOP/RNC), immediately conjures up an image of a major issue. Think of the issue that is of most concern to you — it may not be the same one that comes to mind and boils the blood of another. Make sure your hot-topic isn’t a landmine in disguise waiting to explode upon a fellow guest. And if you’re lucky enough to see the trap? Don’t step on it, walk around it! Bait, don’t nibble - or other such analogy.

Way back and long before the term “blog” was invented, decades ago (insider reference: Punch cards - lol) when it was still mostly dial-up modem (BBS) connections, things moved alot slower literally and figuratively speaking. Subject matter would linger over long periods with discussion covering several days or even weeks, and we’d remind each other to give it a day if you’re upset and then come back and say it if you still feel the same. These days, a Diary may barely last 4-12 hours (especially heavy news days or on/nearing Election dates), with a few lingering a day or two, and beyond that most have become a distant memory only getting rare return commenter or an occasional reference as an “archived” item. With cheap computers and easy Internet access, the shear number of participants has an obvious impact. All parts of the instant-gratification generations, in some sense giving even greater concern that we think before hitting that “Post Comment” button. Remember to use the “Reply To This” button too, but that is slight point meandering.

All the Holier-than-thou (choosing those words carefully to imply a Religious over-tone without touching on the obvious hot-button) and I’m more “Conservative,” more “Republican,” or better whatever, than you stuff is not helpful. When someone strikes that inflammatory tone often people will then just focus in on the flame rather than the message point/content. Flame not, lest ye be flamed!

Are we looking for quick ways to score flame points? Some may consider that fun, while I hope that focusing on RESULTS (success/failure of issue solutions implementation) mattering over just that we “Feel Good” about ourselves (acting like Liberals, Feel Good but solve nothing) in our positions, and just attack (Cannibalize) each other (Reagan’s 11th Commandment politely debating our differences is OK), while never really accomplishing anything. Are we looking for long-term relationships in order to team up to “reach our common goals” or, again, for quick gotcha moments?

Oh oh, I sure hope it doesn’t sound like I’m ranting and raving here. I’m not jumping up and down and yelling at the computer, honest! I have to watch my ALL CAPS (shouting) or run the risk of being yet another bad example of what it is I’m asking us to avoid. (Pardon my Comedic break, though point reiteration, technique to break up serious subject matter, albeit almost always my stale/dry humor.)

A RedState Political Correctness? [gasp]:
If the desire is to act like a Liberal Democrat and rant and rave and Feel Good about ourselves over a movement (pick any Republican Party Platform sub-topic you like and our passionate about)…. then by all means, some may help themselves feel better - but I (and hope others will) look at things from a RESULTS oriented standpoint and the strategies thus far aren’t yielding much lately. Many people may wish to continue to be purposefully and openly adversarial to those in a form of our own RedState Political Correctness to keep others quiet. I prefer having earnest/honest conversations with those of whom we may disagree, rather than Republicans acting like Brainless Liberals immediately having to resort to shout-downs over dialog. (Drats, that could sound inflammatory - please pardon the temporary over-the-top language.)

The Republican Party and/or Conservatism, are not monolithic:
Perhaps RedState needs a Platform of its own, by which the RedState notion of Conservatism could be clearly defined by which to form the basis for discussions or to at least refer back to for comparison of where someone stands in relation to it. The Republican Party (though it does have a GOP Platform) and the Conservative movements are not a oneness of thought/mind whereby you agree 100% or you don’t - there are degrees. We need to talk up are similarities and stop trumping up the differences - if we are going to achieve something/anything as Conservatives/Republicans and part of that is having respectful/considerate and honest discussions.

“Can we all get along?”:
Rodney King, the Cocaine addict (allegedly former), Domestic-abuser (allegedly former), and we don’t have time/space for his entire rap-sheet (and let us hope/pray that he has indeed turned his life around) gave us that pondering! Democrats coddle criminals and like to try to make Heroes and Role-Models out of the scum of the earth (and you’ll see the usual Liberal MSM bias in that King link - no-one attempted to ask how well the victims of his crimes have been able to “move on.”), but that is for other RS Diaries. Before we digress too far, let’s move on to the way he matters here…

The original quote, or as often changed to “Can’t we all just get along,” MLK “I Have A Dream” like or JFK “Ask Not…” worthy, not really but anyway… The point here is that even the worst of humanity (Rodney, IMO) can get something right (if not only accidentally) on an occasion - which goes back to MERIT of a point/post/comment rather than prejudicing ourselves before the fact by looking at, and clouding our processing of the thought of, the person/Userid of who is saying it. A concept/point is good or bad, agreeable or disagreeable, based on its own standing and regardless of whether if the person saying it has ever said or done anything else you feel worthy of note. Remember, that stopped clock is indeed right twice daily!

From time to time the “Hinz Rule” is invoked to remind folks to not feed the Trolls (by letting people that come here just to be bothersome and bait you into off-topic or other fights). Let us call this the “King Rule,” to interject gentle reminders to each other to be “respectful.” I wouldn’t presume to name it (Lenard) after myself after all and a “Detroit” (with burning buildings on Devils Night) image sure won’t work. lol

Trolls/Mobies or someone with a real earnest difference of opinion?:
Trolls/Mobies aside! We are so used to having them here we are often quick to make the assumption (see also: trollanoia reference), or try to portray someone as a Troll/Moby to minimize (or prejudice others opinion of) them, just because they disagree with us on a particular issue. Goes back to the “RedState Platform” (adopting a specific set of Official RS Positions) concept perhaps, but even if that were to be developed we should be able to be respectful with those we have some disagreement with and have a CALM discussion!

Trolls/Mobies get Flamed and people (some just casual observers until they decide to register to be a guest/visitor) learn from those examples and it gets carried into other Diary threads (as acceptable style against everyone). It may just first start as a subconscious harsh tone (sometimes misread as such unintended by the writer), minor name calling (nick-names and kidding aside), then onto out-right Flaming — not good!! I am hoping the “King Rule” will act as a reminder and help return us to calm discussion with those not as Conservative, Republican, RedState loyal, Young, Old, this, that, or whatever, as we.

Keeping things from getting PERSONAL:
This is NOTHING PERSONAL, and that is where the trouble is to some degree. Wait, wait, of course some Government actions have caused very real and adverse things to happen to some making it very personal for them - what I mean is that it is important to remember that it is generally NOT the person at the other end of the current conversation you are having that has caused those things to happen to you, your family, your neighbors, etc… and the WORDS/IDEAS you are sharing are/should-be being discussed in the abstract! People can/have/may die as a result of Policy undertaken by Government or its failure to act, and that is darn near impossible for someone to not take personally!

However, we can try harder not to automatically make it, or take it all, Personal - Acting like Liberals (Act first [knee-jerk reaction], Think later) and solely running on Emotion rather than trying to be objective over issues and the strategy methods in relation to them. Yes, I recognize and was purposefully harsh towards Liberals/Democrats in this paragraph to make a point - in case you missed it I’ll state it out-right: save the harsh words for the real Political adversaries (some other references have been or will be made, part in jest, some I mean — but we might do well to remember the old adage of Kill Them With Kindness at times too)!

Some people hear a topic (pick just about any topic and it is someones top concern they feel ‘passionate’ about), however it is couched, and seemingly LOSE THEIR MINDS (pulling a Glenn Beck, by his own admission) and are incapable of discussion just shout-fests (while Glenn is prone to the shouting, he does still bring in facts/logic to his feud, so it isn’t completely the same - just sayin’ [if you get the reference]) to help them feel good about their position while accomplishing NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO, etc…. The “be respectful or be banned” is a reminder (as I see it anyway) to try to keep people calm so we can have honest and open discussions about the topic and what common-ground we have that we can work toward.

Take your personality-conflict offline if need be. Do not engage in airing your personality conflicts in threads at RedState. Do not drag someone into your grudge, or add a new one, just because someone may agree with someones point (over yours) in a post you have decided to feud with - they are taking sides on the points made not the personalities (or, at least, should not be basing it on who it is saying it — remember: merit). Please keep to the issues being addressed in the thread and on topic as possible - sure, sometimes it may lead to other sub-topics, but DO NOT Threadjack. RedState has a rule to have an Open-Thread available on the Front-Page (FP) on a regular basis where short topic, quick link mentions, and other odds-and-ends belong!

Word choices: It is easy to forget when the word “you” is present that a writer might not have actually meant “You” (personally). It may have been meant as a “generic” address where the term “for those” or “some” or other generic/general reference could/should be used.

ISSUES, Substance while forgiving Style differences:
The issue is about ISSUES rather than writing style. Is this only about How We Feel (good that we feel good about standing our ground by shout-downs and name-calling) or is it, should it be, about effective strategies we are discussing and RESULTS - not what makes us feel good today (that’s for Liberals, that Feel Good crap) - we are (or supposed to be) about creating some solutions that actually help and are effective. We can and should work with others on issues to reach common-ground (but before you take my words too far and thinking something I’m not saying, I am saying that about amongst ourselves Conservatives and/or Republicans and we seem to have trouble agreeing to terms/definitions at times). As far as common-ground across Party-lines BI-PARTISANSHIP goes, that would be another one of those Hot-button things and I am avoiding discussing the specifics on issues and differences in stances, here in this Diary, and leave that for our other Diaries. This is supposed to be about how we interact and discuss those issues.

We are all entitled to having a bad day (or two):
I have said this on several occasions in different discussions. We are all entitled to be in a bad-mood at times and can have a bad-day. The person whose Comment/Diary you are reading at any given moment may have been having a bad-day OR you may be having a bad-day and not recognize it yet! Step back, relax, read posts again, remember that tone/intent may be being misread before you jump-ugly!

The tune “Bad Day” by Fuel is in my head now, as my mind strays yet again. Yes, purposeful interjection of some levity (see also: ribbing/jesting) and is just part of my writing style to provide mental breaks in the action. It is not to be annoying, though I guess I can certainly be that, it is to try and keep the mood light amidst often serious matters.

I am saying some rather obvious things here, but it is helpful to have some occasional reminders and I appreciate your indulgence. Perhaps you know someone that needs a reminder and can leave the link anonymously at their PC. Shhh, I won’t tell. Upward and onward…

TONE MATTERS as to whether someone is going to listen or just ignore you (as they may me to avoid my bad puns) for being constantly confrontational or harsh. Save the nastiness for the out-right Liberal Ultra-Lefty Trolls/Mobies that show up (seems to be some Trollanoia [Troll-paranoia]), but give the benefit of the doubt to newbies (and those that call themselves Moderate, which is a hot-button enough in itself many times) until we know they are what they claim, or a Troll/Moby, for certain.

I know, I know, it is hard to maintain patience when we know darn well that Trolls/Mobies are coming over from the DailyKook and HuffPooPoo. We also know, however, they cannot help themselves and always do expose themselves for the frauds they are eventually. We only better ourselves by keeping discussion civil for those casual readers here in earnest and/or just Hinz Rule them (without it needing to be invoked). The true casual readers/participants (that hasn’t seen the light through the fog of the Liberal lies) will better understand what we are talking about when the Troll/Moby does shoot themself in the foot and the Blam-stick is unleashed.

Those Emoticons (this site converts most of the simple text versions to the images) may seem a bit cheesy, but a smiley face, wink, and/or lol, can make a difference in whether someone gets/understands your mood and/or intent - not always of course, those bad-days thing again. I have been known to put a “WARNING: SARCASM” at the end of some posts, just to be sure, others use a “/SNARK” to indicate the end of a sarcastic post.

Let us RESPECT ourselves by respecting others! I hope going forward that we can talk up are similarities and stop trumping up the differences - if we are going to achieve something - but, again, some don’t really care, they just want to rant/rave as it makes them feel good about themselves (seems to me that makes them more like a Liberal than a Conservative, IMO, but now I’m being repetitious).

Poking fun at another User:
When you are poking fun at another RedState User, especially if the two of you are not close-buds, make sure they know you are “funning.” If you are bad-mouthing someone IN JEST (just some good natured ribbing - see too: levity), remember that even though they may know/understand that - others reading may not! Include some hints for the casual reader so they know what is going on. Friendly fun banter can get taken the wrong way, people pop in and may take a side, and a full Flame-war is on.

Would you Please Just Shut The Bleep Up!?!?:
Yes, yes, yes - I would very much like to say that to some at times! However I do NOT want to, nor do I want fellow Conservatives to, stoop to that level. I live near Detroit and endlessly hear the Liberal line (including MSM outlets) on everything and am TIRED OF IT, and indeed just don’t want to hear/read it anymore many times. Again, I don’t want to go into specific Issues here but I’ll mention Fairness Doctrine to remind you all about how many times do we remind folks that it is the Left that wants to squash speech/debate. Many topics they say the debate is over. WRONG!

We can and should be responding politely and yet be informative to casual observers seeking the truth. They are out there and some will find their way to RedState seeking it. We can say “There are many Diaries here at RedState that already refute your contentions and I am sorry but I do not have the time to cover that ground again. A simple google search within RedState will yield that information and I invite you, and hope you will, look over the many thoughtful Articles that provide some additional Facts, Quotes, Links, etc, (on top of this one and maybe even some from the same author of this Diary) on this topic and/or the things you brought up.” That is still “a dig” perhaps somewhat, but a polite one that provides a response and makes the point of disagreement while informative that we are well aware of their Democrat talking points, how they are wrong, and that those seeking the truth here will find it. Chances are we might even have a link (Election Issues recap [with links]) handy to point them to where they’ve already been refuted.

So, What Really Is The Bottom-Line Concern Here?:
The issue here is NOT how polite we are to the Leftists visiting RedState as we are NEVER going to get them to be or vote Republican when we can get Republicans to be Conservative! The issue is to NOT drive a 70%-er to voting Democrat, politely covering the Issues with them so as to persuade them why they must vote Republican if they really want anything accomplished in regard to that 70% of Issues they agree with Conservatives on. Nor do I want to see people beat a Red-Dog to the point that they turn into a RINO (Red-Dog vs. RINO). Dancing that fine line of building the Party (that Big-Tent Hot-button again) by welcoming the 70%-ers (or not necessarily even building the Party, but building the Election day voting block that votes Republican - reasonable?) while NOT abandoning values/principles (selling out the Party-Platform positions) and pandering but focusing on the 60-80% common-ground.

With this and the other Red-Dog vs. RINO Diary it seems I am becoming the site Tightrope walker of fine-line distinctions.

Let us give the Site Moderators a break from having to Police every post for content and be respectful on our own!!!

Stumbling upon Verbal fisticuffs in a Diary / Troll-jacking:
When we come upon a Fight (literal, or figurative verbal fisticuffs), if someone we know is involved we tend to want to help. Not that our Friend is perfect (has probably been wrong a few times in the past, might even be wrong now, and may have a bad-day and be in the wrong again in the future) but we do not want to see them get beat-up or get in trouble for beating up someone else. Until the “Fight” reasons/details can be sorted out, we will always tend to side with our Friend/Acquaintance (as we know enough about them to want to give them the benefit of the doubt). Neither party should take it personally, because even if the other person involved is completely unknown to us we, as loving/caring people, should not want to see the other person hurt or in trouble either (unless, of course, we are talking about some criminal hoodlum, then we want them hauled off to jail [banned, in our example] - different, of course, but I think all know what I am saying here). That is the genesis of the intent of the “King Rule” idea.

Except for maybe the Ultra-Left offspring, that were never taught manners and/or raised to be caring/concerned human beings (they are only out for themselves), we all know these things. Push comes to shove though at times, and tempers can flare. Happens to almost everyone (certainly can/does to me at times). Gentle reminders is all, gentle reminders. Remember: word-choice and bad-day.

As for a Troll/Moby (or suspected) one looking to stir up trouble - One good dig dismissing them respectfully, really should do it. When we pile on the Diary becomes Troll-jacked (full of verbal-fisticuffs OR Troll diverting attention from the main point by changing the subject or interjection other things that just do not relate in order to minimize the Diary points), and we should not allow them to do that to us. Why clutter up our respectful works and discussions - that crap just clutters them and detracts from the good work, which we know is what they want. They cannot refute the logic which is why they always, ultimately, eventually, trip themselves up and expose themselves. Let them rant and rave until a Moderator comes along with the BLAM-stick. I know we will want to have fun from time to time and unable to refrain, but I think you know what I’m saying.

The “All or Nothing” approach to Debate:
Most of the discussions, no matter how simple the initial premise, start to grow in complexity. As more and more join in the discussions, the Comments often become multi-faceted and dealing with several different points/counter-points. The points are separate. Agreement with a person on one point DOES NOT indicate a complete agreement with them on all points. These are not all or nothing discussions. This kind of goes back to the “carrying Grudges” (offline please) or the “King Rule” (stopped clock right twice a day) to a degree, do not allow your disagreement of one point to prejudice/cloud your determining agreement/disagreement with any other positions/points the person may have. People can be with you in part - agree on some points and not on others.

Agreeing to Disagree, and just walking away (Save the harsh rhetoric for the Democrats - Reagan 11th):
Sometimes you just have to let people Fall… No matter how hard you try to get them to take just that one step, they won’t. Despite the ground crumbling under them, you just have to walk away from the failing ground, and let them fall off the Cliff. Let them be happy they stood (their ground) on their Principle into the Canyon and to their death.

Last, but not least:

Lastly, we need to remember (what I hinted at above) there is alot of Diaries/Comments that many/most RedState Users do not see. There just is not enough time in the day for everyone to see everything and things get posted fast and furiously around here. Some readers/writers know more about other readers/writers at the site. We simply cannot assume others know and/or are aware of some of the things that have transpired around here! If no-one carried grudges it wouldn’t matter, but humans have bad days and get over-emotional at times - in case you hadn’t caught that as part of the point of this Diary! Relax, I was ribbing you on that last comment/sentence.

You are indeed one of a few Liberals (I’ll speak for myself only and say) I look forward to reading/engaging here at RedState as you are one of the few that can engage and be respectful while doing so. We won’t agree on many things, but I hold out hope for you still in the long run lol - since you’re open to honest/factual debate/discussion.

You do know, however, there are some (probably much farther left and on the Democrat fringe perhaps) here just to Troll/Moby and be disruptive. They come here with the intent to be banned eventually, because they can than slither back to the DailyKook nest and wear their dismissal/banning as a Badge Of Lefty-loon Honor…. You also know (and I state for the benefit of other casual observers) We generally adhere to the Hinz-Rule (or King-Rule) and ignore them, or just attempt to dismiss troll, but it is sometimes Therapuetic almost for us to have some fun (levity) at their attempts to trolljack a thread before they get the Blam-stick. As I engaged herein this thread. Sometimes we may get a bit carried away, to which I will apologize (again, only for myself) if I have.

Again, there are many aspects of discussion we welcome Left perspectives and attempts to correct what we believe to be misperceptions and/or Democrat mis-leadings in such matters — such as: the “It Takes A Village” concept I’ve addressed in a few (one here: Liberals misuse Religion for Liberal Govt. expansion and/or Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead) Diaries.

Again — MOST OF US WELCOME LIBERALS FOR DISCUSSIONS — shame they can’t all be “polite,” nice, etc… like you!!! An Echo-chamber doesn’t help us to best define our arguments and presentations, but attempting to bother to be a member and engage in disucssion at DailyKooks or HuffPooPoo [yes, light-hearted rib-poking] would be as futile for us. I hope you invite more of your friends that are “reasonable” like you to come by.
