So, here’s the rub from the UK Telegraph:

In London, Gen McChrystal, who heads the 68,000 US troops in Afghanistan as well as the 100,000 Nato forces, flatly rejected proposals to switch to a strategy more reliant on drone missile strikes and special forces operations against al-Qaeda.

He told the Institute of International and Strategic Studies that the formula, which is favoured by Vice-President Joe Biden, would lead to “Chaos-istan”.

When asked whether he would support it, he said: “The short answer is: No.”

He went on to say: “Waiting does not prolong a favorable outcome. This effort will not remain winnable indefinitely, and nor will public support.”

Apparently McChrystal pulling rank on Obama didn’t go over so well with the talking heads at the White House.

The remarks have been seen by some in the Obama administration as a barbed reference to the slow pace of debate within the White House.

Nice to see that “some in the Obama administration” are able to grasp the obvious.

Gen McChrystal delivered a report on Afghanistan requested by the president on Aug 31, but Mr Obama held only his second “principals meeting” on the issue last week.

He will hold at least one more this week, but a decision on how far to follow Gen McChrystal’s recommendation to send 40,000 more US troops will not be made for several weeks.

A military expert said: “They still have working relationship but all in all it’s not great for now.”

That might be because McChrystal, the man in charge of keeping the free world safe, has dutifully asked his commander in chief for permission to win and all he’s getting is a back seat to Obama’s PR schedule.

But it gets better:

Some commentators regarded the general’s London comments as verging on insubordination.

FYI, ‘commentator’ as defined in the Leftist Media Lexicon (LML) is: “Any random person who acts as an armchair expert on a subject he knows nothing about. Can be a tenured news anchor, Hollywood activist, or the poor disgruntled schlub writing the story. Commentators need no credentials because that would require ‘vetting’, and, according to the LML, vetting is, “not practiced on members of the media or anyone the media proclaims is a commentator”.
Oftentimes, the ‘commentator’ is someone from the academic world:

Bruce Ackerman, an expert on constitutional law at Yale University, said in the Washington Post: “As commanding general, McChrystal has no business making such public pronouncements.”

Constitutional and lawyer…now there’s an oxymoron. Given the Left’s propensity for getting really credible ‘commentators’, I highly suspect Mr. Ackerman also thinks the Constitution implicitly states a president can take over the private sector.

Relations between the general and the White House began to sour when his report, which painted a grim picture of the allied mission in Afghanistan, was leaked. White House aides have since briefed against the general’s recommendations.

Now, here’s some hubris: The White House briefed “against the general’s recommendations”.
Which leads us to this question: Just who is more qualified to call the shots in Afghanistan, the general who is actually in Afghanistan, or our spoiled, man-child president who was stupid enough to use his outside voice when he said, “I’m not interested in victory”?
This question can only be answered by a comparison of the two men.

An average day for McChrystal, his men, and their Commander in Chief. Now might be a good time to say a prayer for your military.

Obama has refused to quickly approve a request from his commanders for a major troop build-up in Afghanistan, insisting first on a full vetting of the current strategy.

Democrats vetting military strategy? That’s tantamount to Courtney Love vetting your baby sitter. Frightening doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I’m not real impressed with the Democrats and their vetting skills. Call me picky, but didn’t they vet Rahm Emanuel, tax fraud aficionado? And didn’t Timothy Guietner come away from his vetting with two enthusiastic thumbs up even though he, like Emanuel, blew off paying his taxes?

Of course, sometimes the vetting does get a bit sloppy, as in the case of Van Jones, who, according to the White House:

“…was not as thoroughly vetted as other administration officials,” the official said. “It’s fair to say there were unknowns.”

Actually, it’s fair to say they forgot to tell him to keep his raving communist tendencies under wraps.

And let’s not forget Kevin Jennings, Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. This guy was obviously vetted by Barney Frank. Jennings’ claim to fame is being the founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network) and the brain child behind teaching school kids the fine art of “fisting“. Did I mention that he is in charge of ‘safe’ schools?

Needless to say, if I were McChrystal and I was told by a gaggle of Democrats that they wanted to vet my military strategy, I’d give them the driving finger as I walked away, locked and loaded, to stand with the very men Obama is hanging out to dry.

Will Tepid Support in Chicago Derail the City’s Olympic Chances?

For the record, the headline should read, “Tepid Support in Chicago Ensures Obama Wants Olympics.”

To understand why Obama has added another leg to his “It’s All About Me” tour and flown to Denmark to pitch Chicago as the site of the 2016 Olympics despite the fact that the majority of its citizens don’t want it, one must have a working knowledge of how Obama processes public opinion.

In the Obama regime, ” tepid support” is considered “Unanimous!”, and the sentiment, “Mr. President, we really-seriously-not kidding-check the polls- don’t want nationalized health care”, is interpreted as “Hola! Bring it on!” (Or “Screw you.” if you pressed ‘one’ for English.)

Bottom line: Public opinion, in Obama’s America, is a non-issue, because, as our spoiled man-child leader has reminded us (ad nauseum), “I won…I am president.”

He probably calls, “Shot gun!” when he runs to the limo.

Using this rubric, one can see how Chicagoans grumbling about having their city become the trolling ground for foreigners who are mad at us because we abandoned the free world and foreigners who now love us…because we abandoned the free world, would lead to Obama sauntering up to the IOC to sing the praises of Chicago hosting the games.

Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Chicago, pride in America, or even the Olympic Games themselves. This has everything to do with Obama and the amount of face-time he will get if the games are in “his” country.

Again, it doesn’t matter that a large segment of Chicago’s population doesn’t want the games on their turf; what matters is Obama wants the games on his turf.

Just change the names of the guys in the wagon to Obama, Pelosi, and Reid and we might just be able to get through to the comic book crowd.

Honestly, I’ll stop comparing Obama to Hitler when he stops acting like the Fuhrer’s Mini-Me.

In 1927, Hitler made a few speeches. Well, 56 to be exact. Historians have long marveled at the number of times the Nazi dictator organized parades and huge spectacles in his own honor for the purpose of convincing Germany that the Nazi Party was the best thing since brats and beer.

Not to be outdone, our very own dictator emulator extraordinaire, Obama, by mid-August, had surpassed Hitler with 66 television interviews. September numbers are promising to push him comfortably in the 80′s.

So, I guess one could conclude that Obama is trying to convince the American people that his regime is the best thing since…well…since Hitler?

More School: Obama Would Curtail Summer Vacation

According to Obama, our anti-American, anti-Semitic president, our children don’t spend enough time in school, and because of this, U.S. school children are lagging behind children in other countries.

It would be nice to think that he really gave a rat’s a…, but we all know he doesn’t.

But, pretending  Obama really does care about quality education, his correlation between time spent zoning out in the classroom and academic success is, to use today’s teenage vernacular, lame. I contend that the amount of time spent in an American public school classroom has zero to do with academic success. American school children lag behind because the local pub ed doesn’t teach our kids squat.

If the schools taught our kids how to think critically, then our kids would be able to see through the illogical and  inane statements that come out of the mouths of our leaders.  So when Obama says…

“We continue to call on Palestinians to end incitement against Israel, and we continue to emphasize that America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.

“The United States does Israel no favors when we fail to couple an unwavering commitment to its security with an insistence that Israel respect the legitimate claims and rights of the Palestinians.

“Nations within this body do the Palestinians no favors when they choose vitriolic attacks over a constructive willingness to recognize Israel’s legitimacy.”

…a student could process it and say, “Dude, did that make, like, any sense at all?” or  “Woa! Obama just grabbed ankle for the Palestinians and, like, gave Israel the Heisman. That is so not good, man.”

If the schools taught our kids the truth about history instead of the Democrat Party mandated Communist-Utopian-EnviroBunny drivel, then our kids would be able to process the current events (otherwise known as the ObamaPalooza) and say, “Hey, didn’t Hitler want German kids in school all day too?” or “Hey, homey, didn’t Stalin screw with the farmers in Russia sorta like Obama is doing in California?” or “Woa! Mussolini’s thugs sound just like the Black Panthers!” and, my personal favorite, “Dude! History is repeating, like, for real!”

Sadly, this isn’t the case. What we have in America these days are a gaggle of adolescents who hate Bush but can’t conjure up an intelligent reason why; a gaggle of future voters who champion for Obama but don’t have a clue that they are cheering on their own enemy.

But let’s cut to the chase. When Obama waxes eloquent about wanting to ramp up our educational system via keeping the kiddos in school all the live long day, it’s not really about education-it’s about indoctrination.  Obama wants America’s minions spending extra hours in the local pub ed getting as much liberal propaganda as their vapid little minds can hold.

This should piss us off.

This should make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end.

History teaches that narcissists like Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and Mao knew that the best way to ensure their success in the future was to hijack the minds of the youth. It would seem the only people who study history these days are dictators and despots. We might want to change that.

Here’s a peek at the German pub ed in Hitler’s day:

Education played a very important part in Nazi Germany in trying to cultivate a loyal following for Hitler and the Nazis. The Nazis were aware that education would create loyal Nazis by the time they reached adulthood. The Hitler Youth had been created for post-school activities and schools were to play a critical part in developing a loyal following for Hitler – indoctrination and the use of propaganda were to be a common practice in Nazi schools and the education system.

Enforcing a Nazi curriculum on schools depended on the teachers delivering it. All teachers had to be vetted by local Nazi officials. Any teacher considered disloyal was sacked. Many attended classes during school holidays in which the Nazi curriculum was spelled out and 97% of all teachers joined the Nazi Teachers’ Association.

In America this is known as the NEA…

All teachers had to be careful about what they said as children were encouraged to inform the authorities if a teacher said something that did not fit in with the Nazi’s curriculum for schools.

I wouldn’t be breaking any new ground by listing all the similarities between Obama and Hitler.  But it is important to wake up and realize that this man has actually come out and admitted that he feels your kids are better off in the  possession of the government schools. Hear me on this: This has been done before with tyrants in the past (and Obama is a tyrant), and the damage done to those countries, not to mention entire generations of children, was monstrous.

At the risk of offending, if you take this lightly, you are being a fool.

It was Hitler who said, “How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.” It is criminal that the leader of our government thinks he has the right to take liberties with our children, but I contend it is an even bigger crime if parents let it happen.

As a Navy wife of twenty-plus years, I have been to my share of ceremonies. Today I went to the retirement ceremony of a Navy Chief in my husband’s squadron who had served for 20 years with a stint in Fallujah. But his time in Iraq is not the point of this story.

Near the end of a retirement ceremony, certificates and rewards are read. Typically, the audience claps right after each award is read.  And that was the case today, except when we got to the reading of the Retirement Certificate.

The MC read the certificate:

“‘I extend to you my personal thanks and sincere appreciation of our nation for your honorable service. You helped to maintain the security of the United States of America with a devotion to duty that is in keeping with the proud tradition of our Armed Forces.

I honor your service and respect the commitment and loyalty you displayed over the years.

Pretty standard, but then he got to the bottom of the certificate:

“My best wishes to you for happiness and success in the future.’

Signed by President Barack Obama.”

…..crickets……

You could cut that 5-10 second pause with a knife.

Note to self: If my husband retires while Obama is in office, get his Retirement Certificate signed by a former president.

Kuddos to Netanyahu, who,  to a room full of men who would like nothing more than to see the Jews disappear in a vapor trail, said these words:

“Perhaps some of you think that this man and his dubious regime, perhaps they threaten only the Jews. Well, if you think that, you are dead wrong. History has showed time and time again that what starts as attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others.”

Obama was one of those who willingly listened to the anti-semetic group hug at the UN on Thursday. In doing so, this man, our president, aligned America with the most dangerous and sociopathic leaders in the world.

Our president is a fool. He believes he is one of the heavy players in this game, but he is wrong. He is a pawn, mindlessly doing the bidding of the dictators and despots who have spent their lives trying to destroy America. They have no respect for Obama. They mock him behind his back. They know weakness when they see it. They know blind leadership when they manipulate it.

Obama To Address World At UN- Breitbart

Obama is at the UN toay  “addressing the world”.  Great. What our jug-eared clown of a president doesn’t realize is that a large population of the world is laughing themselves silly over him. Many laugh because he’s just that ridiculous, and others because they are giddy over the fact that Obama has pretty much tanked U.S. sovereignty, safety, and credibility. He is the wet dream of our enemies.

A few snippets from a preview his UN speech:

“Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world’s problems alone,” Obama tells world leaders gathered here, according to excerpts of the speech released by the White House.

Once again, Obama is throwing a punch at the very people he had aligned himself with in the past. The ones who “chastised  America” for acting alone were his leftist buddies world wide; they were the ones, along with the American Democrat Party, who worked overtime maligning Bush for having the intestinal fortitude to kick butt and take names. And now these people are being chastised by Obama. It’s rich, really. I’m just wondering how long his fellow ideologues are going to put up with it.

White House aides billed the speech to heads of government and delegations in the UN chamber as a “historic” address that will lay out a “new direction” in US foreign policy.

In the excerpts, Obama outlines a series of grim scenarios from melting ice caps, nuclear weapons and protracted conflicts, to “extremists sowing terror in pockets of the world.”

“I say this not to sow fear, but to state a fact: the magnitude of our challenges has yet to be met by the measure of our action,” says Obama.

Not to sow fear? Pure, undiluted BS. Sowing fear and creating one crisis after another is how fringe Democrats and freedom-hating regimes worldwide have operated for years.

“We have been speaking directly to people around the world, including our friends across the Muslim world, with whom we launch new beginnings based on mutual interests and mutual respect.”

True, Obama and the Muslim world have a mutual interest in seeing America’s throat slit, but I beg to differ on the whole respect thing. From what I know about Muslims, they not only don’t respect someone who sucks up to them, they despise it. Obama isn’t earning their respect, he’s earning their sneering nods while they sharpen their blades behind their backs. They know Obama is a fool and they will capitalize on it.

“This spirit of partnership is a defining feature of our foreign policy.”

Dear God, help us. He is alienating us from our allies and climbing into bed with our enemies.

Interesting side note, Canada has stated they will walk out if Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad takes the floor. Sadly, it’s not hard to imagine Obama giving him a standing O and then appearing on Late Night with Conan Obrien next week telling America that Ahmadinejad is really a neat guy.

The new US president’s appearance at the United Nations offers world leaders a chance to size up his diplomatic leverage, as a long list of hefty domestic and foreign policy challenges bear down on the White House.

Oh, they’ll be sizing him up all right, and laughing in their diplomatic limos all the way back to their embassies.

After humiliating the U.S. at the UN, Obama will be meeting with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to get his “Atta Boy” sticker for abandoning the missile shield system in Eastern Europe. He’ll then meet, for the first time, Japan’s Prime Minister, Yokio Hatoyama.

Bloomberg: NY Governor Patterson and Obama

Here’s a riddle:

Q: Since when do presidents decide who can and who can’t run for governor?

A: Since Obama became president.

O.k., it’s not a funny riddle, especially to New York Governor David Paterson. The only thing slightly funny is Obama’s fixation with being a mob boss.

No one at the White House has ordered Paterson not to run, said a White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Well, that’s a comforting statement considering, constitutionally, they don’t have the power to order such things anyway. (Like that’s a deterrant to Obama…)

The administration shares the concerns of party leaders in New York that Paterson’s low standing in polls may hurt other Democrats in the 2010 election, the official said.

Using this logic, there is no way in hell they should let Obama run for a second term. But kudos to The Party for blaming America’s growing disdain for all things Democrat on Paterson’s low poll numbers. How convenient is that?

“I think people are aware of the tough situation that the governor of New York is in,” Gibbs said aboard Air Force One. The decision about whether to run is up to Paterson, he said.

It’s not unusual for a president to get involved in state and local politics, he said. “I would not subscribe to the notion that this is new,” Gibbs said.

First of all, Obama and his men have made it clear that the only thing left up to Paterson is whether he wants to wear cement boots or loafers in 2010. Secondly, that presidents getting involved in state and local politics isn’t new is hardly the point. Tax evasion and prostitution aren’t new, but that’s hardly grounds for justifying them. (ACORN not withstanding of course.)

The parties of Communism, Socialism, Fascism, and Nazism, when they were seizing power, all made a mockery of the election process by wrecking havoc and then placing their own people in power. Obama, like the mealy-mouthed dictator he wants to be, is employing this modus operandi by putting a hit out on Paterson to his party then sitting back while his lackey’s do his bidding.  The mob has been using this tried and true tactic rather successfully in a little town called Chicago, Obama’s training ground.

“It’s not just the governorship that’s at stake,” Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion said in a blog. “Paterson’s pick to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand, also has very shaky numbers” with an approval rating of 26 percent, he said. She faces election in November 2010.

This translates into one thing: The Democrats know they are getting the stink-eye from the American people. Who they run is pretty much a non-issue at this point. If there is a (D) anywhere near their credentials, it spells doom. They know this, and that is why they are resorting to mob-style politics. It’s not about who they want to run in an election, it’s all about who they want to have in place when they steal the election. If this seems too conspiratorial, think Minnesota and Al Franken.

We Conservatives must walk that thin line between letting the Democrats hang themselves with their antics, and us protecting and taking back the very positions they are jockeying for. Fortunately for our side, the more they finagle, manipulate, and coerce the more they show how reprehensible they really are.

I’m afraid we are only just beginning to see the circus that will be the 2010 elections.  Conservatives need to stay the course. It’s going to be a long year.
