Is Obama throwing the election?

The VP selection today was like watching a boxer throw a fight

Well, it was like watching a really bad boxer or a boxer throwing the fight.

That thought has been rattling around my head all afternoon. It’s almost as if he ran not expecting to get the nomination, then couldn’t really “opt out”. This would be one way to get that done.

We really can’t be seeing someone throw the Presidential election, can we?

Hopefully, it’s not that and Obama is just really bad at this running for President stuff.

Man, I truly hope it’s the second one, not the first.

Let me introduce you to “The One”

Yeah, it ain't Barak Obama...

It’s an eight year old guitar phenom named Tallan Latz. When he was four, he saw a Joe Satriani video and told his parents that’s what he wanted to do. His parents gave him an acoustic guitar and then, for his fifth birthday, one of the birthday present options was an electric guitar. He passed on the remote controlled boat and went electric. He’s been playing in two bands in the bars in Wisconsin, but has been recently kicked out because of his age. Now, he can only play in fairs and festivals.

Well, and youtube…

Allow me introduce you to T-Man. Here he is playing Hendrick’s “Red House”. Trust me, it’ll be seven minutes of your life you won’t regret.

Ya gotta love the shades…

Someone needs to say it… Hey Neil! Nice job!

Redstate 3.0 has become somewhat useable

Thanks for all the hard work the last week or two making Redstate 3.0 useable. I’m seeing conversations starting back up, the recommended list seems to be more normal now, and we don’t appear to be clogging up the server.

Job nicely done, although I know you’re still going to be working on things.

Commenting rules on this blog are:

1 – This is NOT to be used for any of those “what’s still wrong with Redstate 3.0″ comments.

Not the Reality in Iraq Obama knew

Or, it's not wise to formulate a plan without doing some research

Fred Kagan, Kim Kagan, and Jack Keane of The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday about The New Reality in Iraq, via IraqStatusReport.com. After reading it, I decided to see how Senator Obama’s newly changed stance on Iraq matches up with their view of the situation there. As things seem to get scrubbed off the Obama website, this will be time sensitive and relevant only until the next timely scrub happens.

From the report in regards to the Iraqi government:

Meanwhile, the Iraqi government has accomplished almost all of the legislative benchmarks set by the U.S. Congress and the Bush administration. More important, it is gaining wider legitimacy among the population. The attention of Iraqis across the country is focused on the upcoming provincial elections, which will be a pivotal moment in Iraq’s development.

Obama’s website states his current view on the Iraqi government:

Since the surge began, more than 1,000 American troops have died, and despite the improved security situation, the Iraqi government has not stepped forward to lead the Iraqi people and to reach the genuine political accommodation that was the stated purpose of the surge.

This alone is a very dangerous position for someone running for Commander in Chief to hold. To be this oblivious of the situation in Iraq, after already mapping out a plan of action, is ludicrous to me.

But wait, there’s more!
