Pastor Larry Kroon says a fire broke out Friday night at the Wasilla Bible Church while a small group of women were there working on crafts. Thanks to the church’s fire alarm, they were able to safely leave the building, and the sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading beyond offices and classrooms.
Kroon estimates damages at more than $1 million to the church and says authorites have told him that the fire is being investigated as a crime. The pastor declined to say if the blaze was politically based or directed at former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the congregation’s most well-known member.

In a written statement… Palin, “told an assistant pastor that she apologizes if the incident is in any way connected to the undeserved negative attention the church has received since she became a vice presidential candidate on Aug. 29. Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good.”

Nuts are all over these days. Let’s wait for the investigation! Glad no one was hurt. Yes, could very well be a SIMPLE CAUSE to this fire that has nothing to do with any wrong-doing…. I made the “comment” not necessarily to be an “accusation” but to make a point about the Left in general!
Should’ve put a half-kidding warning or something on it! Fire and if it does turn out to be Arson is indeed no “laughing” or “joking” matter… Was poling at the Left! And the comment about “if it were Wrights church” needs no further explanation or any defense… you know darn well the difference that would occur!
PS: Cold weather has nothing to do with restricting fire. Combustible material, spark, and oxygen…. Cold can actually cause something to be more “dry” than presence of heat to transfer humidity.

As for Reverend Wright, I have a different perspective about him. First of all, he was media gold. Having a lunatic on TV saying anti-American stuff is always going to grab viewers. Second, if it was Reverend Wright’s Church, you’re right. The media would have probably been on it like flies to ehrm… mud. But the trouble is, Alaska is very far away! Chicago is a hop skip over with lots of reporters. This might also be as silly as my comment about fire in the cold, but I’m stickin to it !

2. She’s a she. If she wasn’t a she, Palin wouldn’t have had the same problems. Sorry, but as a female, I think so. That’s not to say she did not make mistakes. EVERYONE makes mistakes in a campaign.
3. Not related to Palin, but Rev. Wright. I’m not a “religious person” I guess you could say. I think the media had a couple standard about Rev Wright. I think he’s a lunatic and a jerk, but here’s my take. A lot of the pastors of politicians are controversial. But usually, they are for political reasons. Rev Wright was a great way to get known in a big community. Obama went to that church for that reason and anybody knows that! I think that there are many controversial “republican” pastors, but I think they don’t get as much attention because that time has come and gone. Rev Wright was black, crazy and had been an effective way for Obama to move ahead in politics. I don’t hold it against McCain for not wanting to go after Rev Wright. There was plenty more and I think people just panicked and went for the new guy. It’s ok. Let’s not act like chickens with our heads cut off! We’ll make a come back and it’ll be strong. Let’s stay united and not fight. This statement by Powell is a good example. I’m glad Rush didn’t dig into Powell. It’s not worth it. Let’s try to get along and build up, not down!

I think that this has to have been done by someone on the loony left in the effort of shedding light on Palin’s supposed “extremist religious views”. I don’t think this is too far of a stretch and it shows just how far out of touch the left is when it comes to religious views because there are MILLIONS of decent, average Americans who believe just as Palin does. This is why Palin is so dangerous and why she has to be derailed by her enemies on the left - even if it takes extreme measures like this sick act of desperation.

That said, the nastiness towards Gov. Palin is unrelenting here in both blogs and in the comments sections of the online versions of the Anchorage Daily News and Juneau Empire. I’ve spent a fair amount of time on the ADN’s sites and know most of the homegrown posters left and right. Since Gov. Palin’s nomination truly nasty leftwing posters from all over the country and even some foreign countries have infested the place. Now a month after the election, the comments go on for pages and pages on any story related to her and often on stories that only a truly sick lefty could find a way to connect to her.

My grandmother was a teacher in rural Georgia in the early 20th Century. She had ten years of what passed for public education in 19th Century Georgia and two years of “Normal School.” She could speak, read, and write Latin and read Greek. Just that the days of the campaigning for office or, more precisely, denigrating and attacking opponents (even only potential opponents) are long gone. Listen to any of the Obama news conferences. Hear how in many respects his words are not a bit different then when he was only a candidate.
And there are more then enough nutroot followers to continue the attacks on not only Palin, but any other potential Republican candidate to keep the comments sections aflame.
As for the idea of “getting along”, not a chance!
They only way to get along with the left is to adopt their agenda, lock, stock and barrel.
I, for one, am a Conservative voter.
The lefts ideology and agenda is simply something that I cannot, and will not, go along with.
