Alaska Governor Sarah Palin released a statement today, responding to an e-mail campaign started in September by pro-abortion activists calling for donations to be made to Planned Parenthood on Palin’s behalf. The former GOP vice presidential candidate is a staunch opponent of the grisly practice of abortion.

Gov. Palin said that the issue divides “well-meaning” people and expressed the hope that people on both sides of the debate could find “common ground”:

“But when there is a clash of values, I always will come down on the side of life. Making donations to Planned Parenthood in my name might be interesting theater in these politically charged times, but it is not going to change my views or the views of many other Alaskans who believe every life is precious.”

“Anti-hunting groups are employing the same tactic of using my name to promote their cause right now. Again, interesting theater.”

I wonder how the nutroots cretins who are pushing this would feel if someone made a donation to the Susan B. Anthony List in their name or in the name of a well-known pro-choicer?

I’m not suggesting that anyone actually do that, mind you, because I believe it’s a reprehensible tactic. Just sayin’…

today I noticed something as I was turning the tv channel and landed on Obama News Networks (I don’t remember which one of the driveby’s but it was one of them) who kept going on and on and on about how all the moderate Republicans lost and there are not many left to negotiate with – did this idiot Obama reporter finally admit what we all know:

I am sure they did not think of this in that way but they basically conceded that “moderates”/”independents”, etc… LOSE and Conservatives WIN.

I admire Gov. Sarah Palin and I cannot wait to see her run a campaign away from those trying to sabotage her (from her own campaign staff) – she is going to tear them up (with a smile on her face) ; )

Look I think she is great, but let us not ascribe to her powers and abilities beyond the pale of mere mortals.

I don’t like that she has become in the minds of some as the only, or best candidate.

Look, if she does not gain some greater understanding and experience in foreign affairs and in other areas, she will have all the same weaknesses she had going into the last campaign.

I wish her the best, but lets not automatically anoint her the front runner, there is a lot of time till the next election.

Knowing something like that is wrong isn’t determined by great experience – it’s determined by having good morals, a good moral code. And Sarah Palin has a good moral code and she does not believe in discarding the weak.

Superhuman powers aren’t required – but good morals are.

one of a few real conservatives in office today. Thankfully, we had a chance to see a real political conservative in action when she was running as VP…Real conservatives don’t need to go to Yale, Harvard and the like, all they need is morals, know the true meaning of our constitution, believe in LIFE, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness… With those great principles, which she displays daily as a Governor, mother and wife, I can only pray she’ll be here for us conservatives in the near future as a national figure once more!!! …God Bless ya Gov.
