O brother, what art thou?

Irony also has a sense of humor, no?

Breaking news! It seems that Todd Palin not only has a half-sister, but he also has another half-sibling – a half-brother named Samson Palin. The First Dude’s half-sister Diana, you may recall, was recently arrested for breaking into a house in Wasilla for the second time this week to steal money. You can go to Celtic Diva’s blog and read all about it. You will find it as an update to the Levi/Bristol exploitation post under the mocking title “Palin Family Values” – with the professional Palin-hatin’ diva’s take on it:

Karma has a sense of humor, no?

Wow, just wait until she learns about this latest Palin problem! She and her posse are going to have a field day with it. Todd’s other half-sibling has been accused of something so vile… so perverse… that it spells certain doom for Gov. Palin’s political future.

As Karma would have it, Todd’s half-bro Sampson was refused entry to Britain after reportedly being accused of an attempted sex attack on a 13-year-old girl on his last visit. Samson was denied a visa by UK authorities because he had previously been arrested by the cops in Berkshire after approaching a group of young girls, including a 13 year-old, and allegedly trying to sexually assault one of them.

He then followed the girls into a cafe where he became aggressive and was asked to leave by the owner. Police were called, and Samson was arrested. He reportedly gave officers phony identification information – an apparent attempt to conceal his relationship to the governor’s husb…

Oh, wait.

I see I have made a critical error in my reading of this disturbing news. The perverted perp’s name isn’t Samson Palin. It’s Samson Obama. And Sicko Samson is not Todd Palin’s half-brother. He is Barack Obama’s half-brother. The President of the United States, leader of the Free World and Hero of the Blue Diva and her Palin-mocking crew, has a half-brother who has a thing for 13-year-old girls and can’t keep his filthy hands off of them.

So it seems that Irony, like Karma, has a sense of humor, no? Those superior souls who hang out at Diva’s Oasis, where the pool is always full of blue Kool-Aid, won’t notice. They will have their hands over their ears, shouting, “I can’t hear you!” Exploitation of teenagers for political purposes must be a leftist family value, just as burglary must be a much more heinous crime than the attempted sexual assault of a child.

So I’m terribly sorry for the mistake. My bad. Nothing to see here folks. “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. Move along. Move along…”

something like this will never see the light of day outside of us.

It would totally suck to leave one of those skiffs smoldering, only to find out later that one of the pirates is a distant Presidential cousin.

it is “taking so long”. I can’t count the number of times conservatives here at Redstate began gnashing teeth over Bush’s alleged “failure to act” on numerous occasions during the Iraq and Afghan Wars, only to counsel patience since he had never let us down, and then to have Bush do the right thing soon afterward, yet never get credit for doing the right thing due to some artificially, illogical superimposed timetable within which he must act to satisfy the peanut gallery.

Also, given that the ship and crew are already safe, in a major way, we have already “won”. Now, it is one man hostage.

How many hostages did terrorists in Lebanon hold and for how long under Reagan? years?

        Mike,

I’m not sure where you’re getting that His Obamaness is directly calling the shots on what the US response is to this event.

If anything, this is a US Navy officer calling the shots, with very little in the way of Obamaness direction. The US military is still being run by Secretary Gates and the same JCS that was in place under President Bush and as far as I know they are in command of this rescue operation and are doing everything in their power to rescue the hostage.

I’m not defending in any way his Obamaness, but criticism such as yours on the speed of response or how this mission is being conducted is second guessing some pretty good and dedicated military folks and I don’t get that. If I’m wrong and his Obamaness and his crew of pantywaists are interfering, then I apologize in advance.

Help me out here, give me a link to where there is a rumble that the military commanders in the field are being held back by his Obamaness and I will owe you that apology.

OBL cited Bill Clinton’s turning tail and abandoning Somalia after the battle of Mogidishu as the primary catalyst in the formation of Al Queda. And there was one hostage held in captivity (Michael Durant) then as well.

            We’ll see what happens.

          • Mike gamecock DeVine

3 days ago, and voila, as i suggested, a rescue could happen any day and that it took time to get it done. Many of the same friends that used to holler for Bush to do something w.i seconds only to have Bush always come thru, albeit not in seconds.

Now, I called for us to bomb the Somali harbors over ayear ago so as to prevent the eventual taking of Americans and to establish deterrence. I am for it now, even more/

I was in that “peanut gallery, too. Nevertheless I give all credit to the Navy, at least for now.

The captain and all the crew were rescued
            w/i 6 days

Obama did not escalate and did not prevent the quick resolution

those calling for a quicker response and denouncing the lack of same remind me of the Katrina reporters

that they could get a camera in front of a displaced person w/i 6 hours and then assume that manna should be able to drop from heaven and prevent more than 6 hrs and 1 minute of “suffering” and thus advance the anti-Bush meme…

Americans should rejoice for this great and quick outcome

          • Flagstaff

“Obama did not escalate and did not prevent the quick resolution”

He did exactly the right thing (kept mostly out of it), and he should be applauded for that. He gave his commanders the green light, as opposed to a former President. His decision is tainted only by the use of the terms “negotiations” and his qualification that they only use deadly force if the Captain’s life was in “imminent danger.” Seems to me that qualification forced the Navy to make some effort to find an “imminent” threat. (At what time is the life of a hostage NOT in imminent danger?) I suspect the rescue will be dissected for years.

Unless important details become classified (and some of the unanswered questions may well have classified answers), this incident will make a great true story.

These four hapless pirates have now drawn us into direct involvement with the piracy issue. Will President Obama decide to “take advantage of a good crisis” and take the lead against the pirate terrorism organization, or will he choose to withdraw and count his blessings?

It hasn’t been mentioned, but this isn’t just a local enterprise. They’ve already collected $50 million–where is it? Surely not still in that small village of “pirates.” That money is probably going to a much larger, well organized, perhaps even an extra-national sponsor. And if they ARE independent actors, how long will it be until al Qaida decides to enter the field?

But I’m retiring from this threadjack.

          • Mike gamecock DeVine

            than I despise Obama.

          • Flagstaff

that “[Obama] did not prevent the quick resolution” may not be true.

I can wait for proof either way. “All’s well that ends well.”

has been to question the lack of any quick Naval Air response to the initial SOS of a US vessel under attack. After that (and excepting the lack of support for the captain’s first escape attempt, perhaps because none was possible), the process was apparently flawless.

It should make a great story, once it all gets put together, assuming it won’t become classified.

Shakespeare said it. “All’s well that ends well.” At least, this time.

It’s big news in the UK, where it’s in all of the papers. Even the BBC is reporting it.

On this side of the pond, it’s up near the top on Drudge right now. Some small town papers are running it. AFP has picked it up, and it’s on Yahoo! News.

Over 700,000 hits on a Goodle of “Samson Obama”.

    It’s a start.

but then again he has proven to already be “weak”. Another Obama, another EpicFail! As I pray for our president, I’ll be giving thanks that no one will carry on his bloodline or B.H. Obama name (too bad Samson wasn’t his middle monicker… then he’d be B.S.)

and have a tragic miscarriage. That would send his numbers through the roof. And you know they’d do it.

or the front page of the WaPo and NYT, it didn’t happen.

          • IJB

Even if the MSM don’t cover them.

If they actually tried to fake a miscarriage, and there was fair bit of proof of that, word would get out. You wouldn’t need to rely on the NYT to do it either – word would eventually get out, even to the mushy middle.

As a result, I think it’s a ‘far-too-big-risk’ strategy for even these guys to be tempted to employ.

          • Achance

Gov. Palin faked her pregnancy with Trig to cover for Bristol? Sure it would leak out that it was all a ruse and goodly numbers would beleive it, and they’d be dismissed as members of the VRWC.

Losing that baby just worked wonders for the Kennedys. And we all know how BHO admires JFK. I’m only being half serious about this, but I really do believe there aren’t many limits on what these people would do.

          • IJB

I just think there are limits on what they can get away with.

2009 in not 1962. There are too many eyes, and too many checkout counter gossip rags around, to get away with pulling off a fraud like that.

It would bite them, *hard*, if they try it.

From both sides. Honestly who cares if a relative of Palin’s has done X, or a half-brother of Obama who he barely knows has done Y. Its pointless sniping from both sides. Trying to get that “gotcha” guilt by association. I don’t buy any of it. Media needs to lay off such drivel.

    • David123

some in the media seem determined to attack, investigate, or manufacture dirt on Sarah Palin, and do so much more zealously with her than with other politicians. Josh has exposed a double-standard here.

        he’ll push Congress for:

        1. a $45.5 billion stimulus package for the hard pressed native peoples of the the Horn of Africa, who have yet to recover from centuries of repression by colonial powers and bankers;

        2. a $13 billion grant for the construction of a gigawatt solar farm so that 2 million jobs can be created or saved;

        3. a $2 billion community block grant for the Mogadishu Midnight Basketball League to keep all those underprivileged maritime marauders occupied in the…if they have a good place to go, well you know…

        4. ask John Murtha to conduct investigations of the sailors involved in the cold blooded murder of misunderstood tribal fisher folk;

        5. fall to his knees to thank whatever power he believes in that someone took care of this for him before he had to actually make a decision.

We need a damned Presidentwho believes in and understands the Constitution and the Founding principles of this nation … not a community organizer experienced on in bad-mouthing his nation.
