Just like 0, she has attained celebrity status nationwide. When she speaks, people (especially women) want to hear what she has to say and discuss it. That is the definition of a political power base.

We down here in the Motherland are not fooled by Alaska Democrat’s courtroom sideshow attacks on the most popular governor they ever had. When Sarah Palin is out of office in Alaska, it is Alaska that will descend back into political obscurity, not Sarah.

Sarah has no limitations, and soon no binding ties to a state that would rather savage one of its own than win the White House and have an Alaskan as Vice-President, or even President. Shame on them! But their loss is our gain.

And all I can say about those who think they can sink Sarah Palin’s ship by slinging mud is, Beware the Palin Harpoon!

I am responding to your comment, because izone had responded to mine and thus the thread started. I truly do not believe that people who choose not to have children are without care and concern for our country or the future. I do believe and hope izone will forgive me, I think he does too, that some of the people who make that choice are amongst that elitist, sneering condescending group that has fired constant salvos at those of us who desire to embrace family and family values. Embracing these sorts of values often stems from a spiritual construct, although not always. This country has had a traditional culture embracing God, country and family. That family concept does not have to include having children. There are multiple definitions of family. I think what we were both trying to get at was in this specific instance, the elitist media has demonstrated, once again their sneering arrogance towards people who are just regular folk.

And to morstar150, of course childless people are not to blame for this. I am only talking about the elitist “chattering class” who think all of the rest of us are beneath them.

I hope I clarified what the focus really was. I am sorry for any misunderstanding.

I love this country. It pains me to think that the opportunity I was blessed with by virtue of being born here will not be available — whether to your kids or to a kid born in India who longs to come here.

A friend of mine used to say, “I don’t need to win the lottery. I won it when I was born here.”

Please don’t assume that those of us with no children don’t care.

Although, I always wondered why an athiest would care about anyone else. Why not just get what you can for yourself until it all runs out?
