for 2010. If Palin spends the next year and a half going to as many places in the country, speaking for Conservatives, and Conservative ideas and principles, unshackled by McCain and his" talk nice about Obama" staffers, and speaks out loudly and convincingly about the destruction that Obama and his Liberals are creating, she has my support. If she can help defeat the Liberal majorities in the House and Senate in 2010, she will be a major player in the future. The TEA parties are not just populated by Republicans, they are attracting those that want to take our country back to sanity, and they are people from all parties. When Palin said that she will support "Conservatives" in any party, or those that have no party affiliation, she is speaking to a much wider audience than just the 40% who polled as Conservative, and hopefully she will expand the tent without giving up her Conservative principles to do it. If Palin can accomplish that, the field of candidates for the 2012 primaries will shrink drastically. If Palin does what I suspect she will, she would never have been able to do anything while strapped to her Governors chair in Alaska until sometime in 2010.

Please stop repeating Known Facts as if Saying So Makes Them So.

Pennsylvania was gone after the Lehman Brothers meltdown. McCain got out there and destroyed his campaign by saying that the "fundamentals of the economy are strong". Obama jumped ugly on him and that was that. The polling separation after September 15th is remarkable.

Palin could have given the Sermon on the Mount, guest starring Jesus Christ the Righteous and McCain wouldn't have carried PA.

McCain was also dragging the Bush Anchor around him.

Blaming Palin, when she probably juiced PA evangelicals and the rural vote, is stupid. Without her, PA probably would have been worse.

....while Mittens, with all his money, draws flies to an event for Chris Christie. Like, fifty people showed up.

Nice going, Mittens.

So, how's that ground network treating you?

Mittens reminds me of the absolutely awesome George Allen for President Network that I saw coming out of CPAC in 2006. Lots of presence, funny speech at CPAC. Then he gets beaten by the cat hair in the VA senate race by Webb.

Allen had great wonkish ideas and loads of experience, but he was not the Next Reagan. He had boatloads of writers at NRO and W/S touting him as the Next Reagan, too.

Where did it get us?

That's what she's saying. Yes, she's ambitious. See that white courtesy telephone over there that's ringing? If you pick it up, Captain Obvious will be on the other end.

She is trying to tell the Washington G.O.P. that she intends to lead a conservative takeover of the Party from the deadheads and the Big Government Bushtards (I'm talking to you, David Gerson!) who have run the Party into the ground.

Okay, so she gave 5 grand to Johnnie Mac and Murkowski. We need the numbers in the Senate, and she actually owes McCain her notoriety.

But her point is taken.

that share Palins values and principles. There aren't any. If they did share her social values, or national defence positions, they would be Republicans or Conservatives. Even the Blue Dogs no longer vote in favor of fiscal responsibility. Wait and see who she campaigns for and/or supports with her PAC monies, before you write her off.

No one except the two Bushes and Clinton will match the sterling experience of Obama as POTUS by 2012:

4 YEARS OF DIRECT EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE AS POTUS. So,

Obama! Obama! Obama!

[Oh, Huckabee (the TV star), and Romney (experience e.g., RomneyCare) ,etc. will still be found "wanting".]

Thank God that my frame of mind is like this:

Anyone who hasn't EXPERIENCED yet in participating with the destruction of American Economy and Culture is WAY WAY BETTER than the EXPERIENCED ones.

Obama proved that the "lack of direct experience" in Iraq War was indeed an advantage and qualification enough.

But that's just me.

Perhaps if this had been presented (and put in context) with 2010 in mind, I would be more inclined to agree: I believe that I've posted elsewhere my opinion that SP's activities in relation to 2010 or the current political scene are worthy of a diary. However, the way that the material was presented (as a p***ing contest between Sarah Palin and Romney) inevitably sets the diary up as a 2012 diary. Certainly, that's what I got from the diary, and, judging by the subject material of the comments on the thread, that's what most others got out of it, even if you remove all of the comments from and responding to adamy. I don't mind a little bit of talk on 2012, but at this critical juncture, and when we have already had this discussion several times, I don't see much reason to post what is a piece of news of negligible impact for the moment in a way that will rekindle the useless 2012 debate that we've already had.

Again, sorry for using the word, "wrong", don't want to impugn your reputation by making it look like I was questioning your morality, but I stand by the sentiment behind my statement.

I love your sig, btw. Can't have too much RA Heinlein :)

for only 2 and half years and then resigned. She has not the experience, the discipline or leadership qualities to make a good President. She has a certain appeal to people I'll not deny that but this alone does not make for good leadership, we have Obama proving that point right now. If you intend to support Palin as a serious contender for 2012 then you'll have to do much better in convincing people that she has the experience and fortitude to take on the job as President.

This was a legitimate political news item, and I posted it knowing that many of our members would be interested in what her PAC did over the past five months.

Lately, I've been putting my Palin posts down in the member diaries, which I will continue to do, unless they are Front Page news. Nearly every major legacy news outlet and many blogs, both left and right, mentioned this story. I linked to the ones I considered to have the best information.

This story is relevant to the 2010 elections in that Palin will be campaigning for and raising money for many of the 2010 candidates, as will Romney, Huckabee, Jindal, Barbour and Gingrich.

I worked in journalism, back when it still was jounalism, for over two decades. I believe i know when a story is newsworthy. So I'll thank you not to say I'm "wrong" to post what I post here.

I was expecting rambling and incoherent.

Maybe this is the first assignment in her Higher Calling, even though she hasn't left office yet. Since she doesn't have a contract to write for a particular syndicate, she can write for anybody.

are two items right of the Democrat Party list of Anti-Palin talking points. The only people who use them are leftists and Vichy Republicans. Which one are you?

Go read her Twitter page and you will that she is interested in and curious about things to the same degree as any governor, if not more so, given her state's uniqueness.

If you want to criticize her *record*, that is fair game. Tell us what bills she signed that you believe she should have vetoed and vice versa. Go to her ontheissues.org page and learn something about her. Then come back here and debate her on her record - not on this bogus moby crap you keep spewing.

I don't mind a little bit of chatter on such things in moderation, but the daily back-and-forth that we're having on Redstate is, IMO, stopping more productive conversation on logistics/fundraising/candidates from occurring. Yesterday was a godsend, because there was little talk of Palin, but a LOT of talk about 2010, thanks to Moe's excellent diary :) Addressing it to you was a bad call on my part though, and I apologize if my singling you out offended you. Your comment just happened to be the closest one on-hand for me to pontificate on SP vs. 2010, so I hope that you'll apologize my indulgence.

I suppose that it's wasted effort on my part, as those who need to hear it the most, such as the more ardent Palinistas and our self-styled Captain Ahabs, are those who are least inclined to listen.

You were fine, though. Sorry for my hijack of your post: it was unfair of me to tar you with the Palinbot brush.

I said 'I do hope she was able to develop some ground network' from the experience. Her national celebrity has also helped but she reminds me of another national celebrity empty suit politician but he actually made it to the White House so perhaps there is hope for her after all.

I don't have a link for it, and WaPo is one of those idiotic newspapers that requires a subscription to read their online news. But I just saw a facebook post from Sarah Palin reprinting (or pre-printing?) an op-ed for WaPo on Obama's cap and trade fiasco. It is well-written, well-thought out, and represents her well.
