There they go again
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | July 1st at 02:34 AM |
The NY Daily News is promoting the August edition of Vanity Fair, in which a vicious hit piece full of lies, distortions and innuendo savagely attacks everything about Sarah Palin, not the least of which is her character. The author is the liberal magazine’s national editor Todd Purdum. If you don’t know where he’s coming from, consider that Purdum formerly hacked for the New York Times, | Read More »
The Great Huntsman Hoax
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | May 18th at 08:18 PM |
It seems like the announcement came out of nowhere this weekend: Governor Jon M. Huntsman Jr. will resign and accept an appointment as ambassador to China, ABC 4 has confirmed. The official announcement came during a press conference held by President Obama Saturday morning at the White House in the Diplomatic Room. President Obama asked the people of Utah to forgive him for taking their | Read More »
The Sleeper Must Awaken
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | April 14th at 09:53 PM |
The Hope for America caught Sen. John McCain’s recent appearance on Jay Leno’s show: Leno: Who is running the Republican Party? Is it Rush Limbaugh? I mean… McCain: We have, I’m happy to say, a lot of voices out there: Bobby Jindal, T… Pawlenty, Huntsman, Romney, uh… Charlie Crist. There’s a lot of governors out there who are young and dynamic. Uh… Mitt Romney did a great | Read More »
Persons of the Year

As John McCain’s running mate in the election of 2008, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was the GOP sacrificial lamb. McCain never really had a chance of winning the White House. Bamboozeled by Barack Obama into accepting public money for his campaign, the Arizona senator was outspent seven to one by the Democrat, who had agreed to also take public funding, but in the first of | Read More »
McCain rewards Palin’s loyalty with a shrug
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | December 14th at 01:14 PM |
Today on ABC’s This Week, when asked by host George Stephanopoulos whether he would support Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she runs for president, Sen. John McCain punted: “Oh no. Listen I have the greatest appreciation for Gov. Palin and her family and it was a great joy to know them,” McCain said. “She invigorated our campaign and she was just down in Georgia and | Read More »
Why McCain should win Tuesday
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 31st at 09:40 AM |
I believe John McCain will pull off an upset victory in the general election next Tuesday, just as he revived what all the “experts” had said was a dead campaign and went on to win the primaries which earned him his party’s nomination. There are five reasons for my optimism for the McCain-Palin ticket’s chances.
Chill, Baby, Chill
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 28th at 04:04 PM |
The familiar refrain of “Drill, baby, drill” has become a rallying cheer at all John McCain and Sarah Palin campaign events. It puts an exclamation mark on the GOP ticket’s all-of-the-above energy policy. That policy calls for tapping all of America’s bountiful energy resources, including renewables and other alternatives. When McCain and Palin make appearances in the coal belt of the eastern states, the mantra | Read More »

Move over, Joe the Plumber. Here’s Joe the Dumber!
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 22nd at 02:34 PM |
Just when the Obama campaign was enjoying the focus of the race being on a weak economy, here comes Joe Biden to bring the game back to John McCain’s strong suit – foreign policy and national security issues. Not only that, but Biden managed to stencil a big question mark over his running mate’s head at the same time. And the big ol’ dumb guy | Read More »
George Santayana, Yogi Berra and the Election
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 18th at 02:32 PM |
Remember when it appeared that Sen. John Kerry might make George W. Bush a one-term president just like his father? Can’t remember that? Let’s do a memory refresh from October 16, 2004. Leftblogger Jerome Armstrong of mydd.com looked deep into a Washington Post poll and found encouragement in the internals. The WaPo survey reported that Kerry “continued to claim a large lead in key battleground | Read More »
An endorsement bonanza for McCain-Palin
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 9th at 02:52 PM |
Promoted from diaries. I’d also like to note something that Geraghty did: no Republican candidate since 1980 has won the Presidency without the endorsement of the NRA. True, there were only two (Bush in ’92; Dole in ’96), but it was still a necessary hurdle for McCain to cross. – Moe Lane Today the McCain-Palin team raked in a bonanza of endorsements. According to conventional | Read More »
Unleashed Pit Bull Palin Bites Obama on his Ayers
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | October 4th at 02:39 PM |
At a fundraiser today in Englewood, Colorado, GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin bared her Pit Bull teeth and bit Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama for his relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. Palin said: “Our opponent though is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. | Read More »

Agree, Mark. And your question begs another, “What will Kathleen Parker do now?” According to talk show host Mike Gallagher, she isn’t budging: “On my radio show today, Parker defended her column. Feisty and a bit combative, she reiterated her belief that Gov. Palin is a lightweight who wasn’t “properly vetted” and ought to fade away into the sunset, clearing the way, as she put | Read More »
Palin v. Biden: Who’s the real ticket-killer?
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | September 26th at 12:44 PM |
“Mainstream media” (MSM) never was an accurate representation of what this country’s major print and broadcast news sources are and what they do. “Mainstream” is defined, when used as an adjective, as “representing the prevailing attitudes, values and practices of a society or group.” The media, as a group, certainly has a set of prevailing attitudes, values and practices, but they are not those of | Read More »

About those fundamentals…
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | September 22nd at 12:15 AM |
On NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson voiced confidence in the long term fundamentals of the U.S. economy. According to Reuters: Asked about the fundamentals of the U.S. economy, Paulson said, “I won’t bet against the American people … We will work through this.” John McCain has taken quite a beating from the Left and its captive media for saying essentially the | Read More »
Liberal media attacks won’t deter McCain or Palin
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | September 2nd at 01:02 PM |
It’s clear what major liberal media outlets such as the New York Times and CNN, driven by their more unhinged counterparts on the left end of the blogosphere, are trying to do. They are slinging as much manure as they can wallow in at Sarah Palin, John McCain’s choice to run with him as the GOP’s vice presidential nominee, hoping enough of it will stick | Read More »
The Accomplished Sarah Palin
By: Josh Painter (Diary) | August 31st at 11:08 PM |
Thursday night/Friday morning, on the eve of John McCain’s announcement of who his running mate would be, was an all-nighter for this scribe. I really was tired and sleepy, but I just couldn’t make myself go to bed. Instead I was following this thread of comments on the Draft Sarah Palin For Vice President website. Adam Brickley, who created the site in February of 2007, | Read More »
